So nice to see how quickly Valencia has bounced back from the recent tragedy. Speaks to the resilience of the people. Miss that place! Mercato Central is one of my fave places to go.
This is not an accurate depiction of the areas affected by the flood. Most of the city center was spared by the flooding. It was the smaller cities outside of the city: i.e. Paiporta, Benetuser, Chiva, etc. that were flooded and are not getting the resources necessary because the Valencian government is bureaucratic and lacks leadership. Why not do a video on the real areas affected by the DANA rather than this tourist propaganda?
@@ellieramseyerMost of the city centre was spared..? Absolutely no flooding whatsoever affected the centre of the city of Valencia. I have an underground carpark space as do others. I was there! None of the centre was destroyed like what is being badly misrepresented by the press. Ironically, it is the local people who have friends and family in the surrounding towns which supply to the central market which caused problems for a few days as the transport system had to be suspended as did schools and the local metro system. The 3rd of December, 2024 has been announced as the day that the metro system would resume so that commuters can return to the city from the towns affected by the Dana.
Valencia was formerly known as Valentia in Roman times, meaning the land of the valient/brave ones. Go to Paiporta, Chiva, Alfafar, etc and visit the flooded areas. Good video of the real historic city centre. Minute 14:10 View of canon-hit city walls during the Napoleonic War of independence.
Hi Bea and Paul - wonderful video. We love when you guys speak but letting the beauty of Valencia tell its story was nice too. Sending love to Valencia and all its people. We hope to be there ourselves soon.

The City of Valencia has not been affected That's why those streets you show are clean, there are 75 affected towns on the outskirts of the city. Where tourists do not go, nor are they expected. In those towns there were companies, factories, the real economic engine, not the restaurants and tourist bars in the centre of Valencia.
This post is misleading and does not capture the devastation and economic impact to the Valencian region. This post is simply posturing for their own benefit as bloggers.
Great video, but inserting a Voice over would have helped for us to watch the video instead of having to read before the scene changes. Thank you though

You should talk about the economic and environmental impact the flood has had on the Valencian region. The agricultural fields are covered in high levels of feces and toxic waste that will affect the Albufera and surrounding agricultural farms. The mayor of Valencia announced a 75% cancelation of hotels not to mention some businesses may never open. The residents in Paiporta are only getting hot meals through nonprofit organizations and have received no assistance from the Valencia government. People should be made aware of Spanish bureaucracy before moving to Valencia, Spain.
