Brian.. You are fricken awesome!! As I’m watching this video I’m sitting here talking to myself and, in a good way, yelling at the screen because I’m finally getting what your saying. Having watched a huge number of your videos for the past two and a half years, the mystery of the guitar neck is finally being revealed!! Because of you, and your excellent teaching style. Thank you, brother...
I love these soulful “less is more“ videos. Even though they appear simple, the way that you connect the theory back to what you play still provides many “lightbulb“ moments. You are one of the reasons why the guitar as an art won’t die out as you make it enjoyable to lean how to play 🎸. ....no pressure then !😂Excellent lesson many thanks!
Mate! Hands down you have been the biggest reason for my guitar growth. I truly appreciate how you give a nice complete piece that also builds on what you already know. I’ve grown in my own skills through this - my skills, technique and theory knowledge - all from these lessons. As a school teacher, I know this is what teaching should do. Not what all teachers can/achieve though. You have a gift. Thank you so much for sharing
I didn't have anybody to explain to me what was going on on those situations either! Until now! You're doing a great job helping me become a useful guitarist and at the same time having lots of fun and a satisfying feeling. So here's to you! Thanx!
Another great lesson with excellent teaching. I have learned so much from you , can't thank you enough for that.. You are the best guitar teacher on internet.
Love this type of lesson pitched right at my level really helps it sink in when repeating same chord with different voicings and shows clearly you can get melody from a simple pentatonic phrase
I played when I was in my teens, took lessons, bu frankly I was terrible. I never really learned to play the guitar. I could read music and knew the notes in the open position, but not one teacher ever taught me any theory. After less than a month on you site, I’m finally beginning to get it. Wish I’d learned this that many, many years ago, I might have been good back then! Thank you, plan on signing up for the year, it will be the best thing that happened in 2020!
Once again ur lesson is mind expanding. The rhythm counting is especially helpful. Keep bring rhythm lessons. For those who r not members ur missing so much. Utubes are good the entire lessons are great. Thanks ur lesson bring a smile to my face
Whatever your fingers are doing, its so awesome u explained so well and I get it,throwing in bits of music theories just spiced up this amazing lesson in such a short period of time.thanks
Great stuff hear. Simple in a way, but can be complex. You explain it so well and link the chords and notes so it can be replicated. Excellent teacher as other have commented. This made me running for my looper, and now my new favorite channel.
Iv been trying to learn guitar for years and at times just wanted to give up been such a struggle and if it wasn't for these lessons I'd have give up things seem to be dropping into place now and I'm actually enjoying it big thanks for these great lessons
Love this lesson. The only problem I have is, I’ll be working on one of your lessons, then I see a new one and man I gotta work on that and abandon the previous one. This goes on continually. Lol. Love your site.
I'm exactly the same....seriously ! I plan on subscribing to the site soon and I'm planning on giving up on RUclips guitar distraction videos and stick with this site. Another excellent tutorial !
@@MrShaneor73 Love your phrase "RUclips guitar distraction." That's exactly what it becomes. After untold thousands of hours of distraction (I learned a few things here and there), I recently became a member of his site and I'm just focusing on specific skills. What a difference! I am now really learning things I can apply. Well worth it.
The F and G is basically changing to the key of C for that section which is a logical change from a Dorian. Just a thought. Thanks for everything you do, love your lessons!
Another Nice lesson 👏👍👌🎸🎸😷👏😊 Please want more and more lessons like this... Rhythm and little leads in btw.... more rhythm styles or patterns will help us a lot and lots of FUN!! Breaking down Rhythm or understanding and quickly incorporating into playing guitar is most important and once you get it .... it becomes Magical!! I have come know the importance of this through you (Brian 🙏)... so please requesting to make more of these 🙏😊
I keep coming back and absorbing a little more of this lesson every week or so... In a year or two I may play it as well as you do 😆 Great lesson! There is a lot to integrate here but it's all helping me be a better player!
That had a little BB KING, Thrill is Gone ,a little DOORS , Riders on the Storm. Another lesson to be your own guitar God ! I agree in Blues if you can't sound like a singing vocal try and sound like a horn section. That Dorian Scale bit , you threw in sounded Jazzy , and I never want to sound Jazzy , in my Blues. ( But that's me , Jazz in blues to me, is like giving up , trying to make the music stand on its own ,EMOTION) What reverb and reverb setting you have ,( that made it sound great !
The thing that amazes me many times about Brian is although I understand the concepts it is sneaky hard to play as clean as he does. Brian is humble about his playing but when you sit down and try to execute what he does cleanly you find its harder than it appears. Much harder. I've been a site member for about 2.5 years now and at first the concepts were hard for me. I didn't know theory, caged, scales etc. Now I get the concepts but man playing this clean is a challenge
Outstanding lesson. I only play rythm and its great to see how different voicing and a few fill licks make playing so much more enjoyable. Nice tie with your other lessons on CAGE and Pentatonic Scales.
Great lesson! You make it really easy to learn and give a good amount of theory to explain the reason for the chords without overwhelming a student. Would you consider also doing a lesson on surf guitar (Dick Dale, Surfaris)? Thanks again.
great lesson this is no kiddin though how do you get your nails so short on your left hand alot of folks say biting them but i cant and cutting them with clippers goes into the quick and its bloody sore any suggestions
Saw your past videos where you were showing how other great guitarist played, but, no mention of HANK MARVIN of The Shadows backing Cliff Richard? Have you heard him playing? Apart from his Style it was the Sound that got people hooked on in the 60s.....

I agree, this is a special guy. This guy has grown my playing past my expectations.
That goes for me too. I play all the time now. Hardly played at all before signing up for your lessons.
Finally someone that makes the most sense of it all. Thanks Brian
I didn't have anybody to explain to me what was going on on those situations either! Until now! You're doing a great job helping me become a useful guitarist and at the same time having lots of fun and a satisfying feeling. So here's to you! Thanx!
That lesson was pure gold! So many lightbulbs. Thank you!!

Happy to be your 500th like Brian... what a great lesson this is... no more boring Am chords... gonna start working on other keys now.
Brian was just thinking about you and the compositions you put together. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks man, so many lightbulbs, i’ve got light for a whole year... big piece of the guitar-puzzle for me! 👍❤️
This lesson is exactly what I have wanted and I hope you can do some more with chord inversions
Whatever your fingers are doing, its so awesome u explained so well and I get it,throwing in bits of music theories just spiced up this amazing lesson in such a short period of time.thanks
Cool lesson man,the opening groove is reminiscent of the old Bobby Bland tune. "Ain't no love in the heart of the city". Sweet work dude.
Amazing ...this is really a lightbulb moment....just two chords and minor pentatonic can make beautiful music
Thanks a lot ....
Great stuff hear. Simple in a way, but can be complex. You explain it so well and link the chords and notes so it can be replicated. Excellent teacher as other have commented. This made me running for my looper, and now my new favorite channel.
You just nailed it for me! What a great teacher. Thanks.
Such a heap of really useful and practical ideas 😊 you are a blessing to others Brian, thankyou.
Heck yeah, Brian! A minor key rhythm gets me every time, so nice and groovy! ❤️😊❤️
I dig the channel brother. Thank you. I started 8-14-21. I can play two different progressions so far . G,em,c,d.or jumble them. And am,f,c,g.

I know right..?
Yep! Same here! Lol
Wow! Great study in using theory to enrich a chord progression and make it so much more interesting! Thanks!!
Excellent lesson thank you. Given us all new ideas. Could you do same style in major key.
The F and G is basically changing to the key of C for that section which is a logical change from a Dorian. Just a thought. Thanks for everything you do, love your lessons!
Brian is awesome I've learned more from him than anyone else breaks it down so u know where it came from!
Wow! Excellent lesson, and you are an excellent teacher... thanks
I can't wait to get home and dive into this lesson!! Killer work, thank you!
Awesome lesson here! Right on my skills. Thanks for sharing.

Your teaching method is super. Thanks
Nice. The ascending chords at 00.12s sound like Riders on the Storm. Will learn this this weekend :-)
Ha ! Your ears are like mine
I picked out Riders on the Storm too .
I didn't here Gilmore till he broke it down .
You have great ear for music ,too !
Love this channel!! Thanks for all your work!
I keep coming back and absorbing a little more of this lesson every week or so... In a year or two I may play it as well as you do 😆
Great lesson! There is a lot to integrate here but it's all helping me be a better player!
Pink Floyd and Doors vibes... gonna learn this lesson and play it this week! This is very up my street
That had a little BB KING, Thrill is Gone ,a little DOORS , Riders on the Storm.
Another lesson to be your own guitar God !

What reverb and reverb setting you have ,( that made it sound great !
Play it slow and starts to sound like the Doors..😀
Simple and great lesson. 👍 Thx
So simple, so powerful... Thank you!

Riders On The Storm
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Very well explained! Im definitely considering your premium membership! Keep it up! Thanks again!
I think you excelled yourself with that one Brian 10/10
This is an excellent lesson. Thank you!
That was very helpful. Well explained. Thank you again.
Outstanding lesson. I only play rythm and its great to see how different voicing and a few fill licks make playing so much more enjoyable. Nice tie with your other lessons on CAGE and Pentatonic Scales.
Very nice and helpful.
Yeah, this is straight up AWESOME stuff you are doing. Thanks man, I'm digging all of this.
the first part sounds a lot like the jam from Riders on the Storm. Love your videos.
Incredibly helpful and an eye opener thanks a lot
Nice lesson Brian. Lots of useful takeaways. Linking A Dorian to G maj very helpful. Your songs are great. Anything published? Fran
Love this lesson

Excellent explainations as usual big thank you B
Very 'Riders On The Storm'. Great sound.
It also incorporates the Whipping Post verse changes.
I really learned a lot from this, thanks for the tutorial man. New subscriber
Excellent. Double stops remind me of SRV on Bowie’s China girl.
Rad lesson. I always learn from these!
Wow I love how you teach. Thanks
Another great lesson, love it !

I guess you have that part with the D-shape from led zeppelin - over the hills
Very good info.

Thank you very much
But how do you know the shapes for those chords
really starting to like this guy. 🤜🤛
Hey Brian, Alan here, could you explain how you find C 13for example. Al 🤪
Sounds a bit like The Doors. Great lesson, Brian.
Saw your past videos where you were showing how other great guitarist played, but, no mention of HANK MARVIN of The Shadows backing Cliff Richard? Have you heard him playing? Apart from his Style it was the Sound that got people hooked on in the 60s.....
Lemmy from motorhead used to always mention him if I'm correct? Great band
Brian love the lesson as usual! But I have to know how heavy are those strings on your tele? And what brand do you play and recommend? (Strat)
@@jenohill those are D’Addario 10 gauge
Very smooth Brian! Kinda gives me a JJ Cale type vibe. Nice and laid back.
Yeah, I got the J J Cale vibe too! Cool and laid back!
what is a half diminish?
