    After watching the complete tutorial you will be able to prepare the BBS(Bar bending schedule) of one way slab. Also you will be able to find out the steel reinforcement details of slab.
    Slabs as we know are mainly of two types i.e, one way slab and two way slab.
    Before calculating the quantity of steel in a one way slab we must know the basic concepts about it.
    A one way slab is supported on beams or walls on two opposite sides and carries the load along one direction only that's why the main steel bars are provided along the shorter span of the slab. & distribution bars along the longer span.
    I'm going to show you how to calculate the steel quantity by illustrating this method with the help of an example.
    At the end of this lecture i will show you how to prepare the table for bar bending schedule of slab.
    It should be noted that the shorter span of the slab should not be confused with beam outer to outer span.

    Note:
    @8:45 the last column will be equal to multiplication of 2nd, 3rd & 4th column....sorry for the error

      8:47 you just made a mistake sir, you said total quantity (kg) will be the multiplication of (dia. of bars x nos. x length x weight per meter)
      Here we will not consider diameter we will only consider (nos. x length x weight per metre)

    Thank u very much sir, with the help of your tutorial I was able to calculate the number of steel for a client last week. God bless u more abundantly for impacting such knowledge at no cost.

    Hi, for main bar calculation why do we subtract (2 x 45 bend)?

    Hello. Nice content in your videos. Please do one video on how to calculate the size of reinforcement and stirrups for a given structural member?

    Sir distribution bar length is more than slab lengh is it correct
    Because I'm asking distribution bar is straight

    • @CivilTutor
      @CivilTutor  2 года назад +4

      This is obvious.... Length of distribution bars will be equal to slab span + development length.... Development length is the portion of bar which is anchored inside the beams on either ends of the bar. It should be noted that, slab span is the beam inner to inner distance.
      Regards!

    Whey hook is not provided on ends of bar ...?

    • @CivilTutor
      @CivilTutor  2 года назад +3

      Hooks are provided where the required length is not available to satisfy the development length requirements. In those cases the anchorages are provided in form of hooks.

    quantity is supposed to equal to the multiplication of 1,2,3 and 4 th column?
    but doing so 12 X 34 X 2.97 X 0.9 = 1090.58 not = 89 ?
    Could You kindly explain or anything that I am misunderstood ?

    • @CivilTutor
      @CivilTutor  2 года назад +2

      It's actually the multiplication of unit wt, Length of each bar & Number of bars
