Hello,In this video I will show you ,how to provide Main Bars,Distribution Bars,Cranked Bars,Top Extra Bars in Two way slab.
TWO WAY SLAB:
What is two way slab?
1.First of all by looking it is a Square Shape.
2. It is supported by beams or brick walls on all the four sides.
3. The loads are carried by the supports along both directions, it is known as two way slab.
4. In two way slab, the ratio of longer span (l) to shorter span (b) is less than 2.
i.e Longer span (l)/Shorter span (b) less than 2
This types of slabs are mostly used in the floor of multi-storey buildings.
MAIN BARS:- These bars are CRANKED BARS. Main bars are cranked at an angle of 45 Degree with the length of 0.42D
Where, D = Depth of Slab- Top cover - Bottom cover
D=150-20-20
D=110mm
EXTRA BARS:- The extra bar is provided along Cranked bars:
The length of Extra bar is L/4.

Very satisfying 3D representation ... But if I am not wrong- Distribution top bar spacing written(150 mm c/c) is shown at 300mm of spacing.
Also one little confusion if someone could help:- Top distribution bar(TDB blue), in short direction(along with red bars) here is laid at same level with primary cranked red bars but Top DB along the longer span (bars in yellow) is laid well below the level of cranked yellow longer direction bars which seems to decrease the spacing inside the bar mesh in longer span cross section.
So, in short My question is wouldn't it be better to provide blue top distribution bar(along longer span yellow bar direction's which is bottom of top mesh) at the same level of cranked yellow bars to increase the bar spacing in longer direction cross section???

Hi! Are the extra top bars for both one way and two way slab always necessary? What if in the schedule of slab reinforcement, there’s no extra bars indicated? Only the top & bottom bars along short & long direction. Thank you.

Red bar - 8 mm or 10 mm or 12 mm or 16 mm
Yellow bar - 8 mm or 10 mm or 12 mm or 16 mm
Dark Blue bar - 8 mm or 10 mm or 12 mm or 16 mm
Sky blue bar - 8 mm or 10 mm or 12 mm or 16 mm

There is nothing support bars. Bent up bars are designed on the basic of Support moment which is negative in nature

Where is corner reinforcement?
Same question, where is extra top reinforcement at slab corners?
Step by step Method is wrong ......Presentation is good and final picture of design is right ... U have to show first bar which is going to under the beam bars ... After that u have to show crank support bar and than crank bar one side and same as other side cranks.... This is difference of playing cricket Or watching the cricket.. So please go some time ground practice.... If I'm not wrong
