Thanks so much! 🙏 I love the way the BPM shots turned out too. I do wish these were full frame lenses but at least they work on a A7iii because of the crop mode. I'm sure with time they will release some full frame versions of them, although they'll probably be hella big
Great video! Uniquely shows how bleak Toronto is, and how far removed from its founding. Purchased this lens, using it on my A7IV APS-C. Works great, but I live in a less Leftist city, so there is actually some natural beauty to be captured!
Just digging into pro mist filters and cinematic filming overall and this is just so aesthetically pleasing!!! Do you mind if ask you what picture profile you used? I'm shooting on an A7iii as well
Appreciate it! 🙏 The picture profile was just "Standard", personally I don't like any of the other picture profiles like Slog. I find the 8bit codec of the A7iii adds too much grain and artifacts into the footage using other picture profiles
This was incredible! Makes me want to revisit Toronto even more! Noob question here tho, as a beginner my heart is finally set on the Sony a7III but how would I know which anamorphic lens would be compatible with that? I see they have several mount options for the lens, and I'd hate to purchase the wrong one. Thanks!
It's only the Sirui branded lenses that I really know anything about. You just gotta get the Sony E mount ones. The a7III has the crop mode which is what I have to use to make this lens work, or else you get a huge vignette when in "full frame" mode. I think all the Sirui E mount anamorphics will work on the a7III
Great content🔥📷 , What size of filter did you use ? I’m trying to buy a cine bloom filter by moment size 67mm I have a sirui 50mm lens do you think the filter 67mm size will fit to my lens ?
Hey man, can I ask how come you used the ND and the Pro-Mist? Is there a specific reason for it? Just learning about anamorphic lenses at the moment. Also man, I guess with the sony a7iii, it loses the autofocus option with these lenses?
Yes, there is no auto focus on this lens. So the ND filter I use to adjust the exposure without changing the camera settings. I set the shutter/aperture/iso once and if I need to go brighter or darker I just turn the variable ND filter to adjust the exposure, everything on the camera stays the same. The pro-mist (only used on the night shots) is a sort of "light diffuser" and it creates this halo look around edges. Makes the footage look a little softer and not so digital/video like. Some people compare pro mist to the look of real "film" but that's up to you
This video makes me feel nostalgic about Toronto and I'm still here. Great video and great lens
Thanks man! 🙏 I was feeling nostalgic even though I was filming it
One of the better tests with this lens on a FF Sony. Those night shots with the BPM are so pleasing. Just wish they had FF versions of these lenses!

This is one of the best comments I’ve ever gotten 😂 glad you’re enjoying the lens!
Pretty cool footage. Nice Lens. ✌️
Thanks as always! 😊

My Pro-Mist filter is 82mm since I bought it for another lens, so I had to use a couple step-down rings to put it on the Sirui lens
