What is Tikkie?

How to split the bill after a fun night of drinking and eating? We've all been there! One unique app widely used in the Netherlands that helps with that is Tikkie. The application allows for quick and easy money transfer from one bank account to another, and students love it! Check out some of our students reacting to Tikkie!

No one is happy when interacting with Dutch people

It seems I am only partly Dutch. I mostly split the bill the Roman way, except when I ordered something expensive in comparison to my friends. Then I would always suggest that everybody pays their own food/drinks. Especially if I know the other person does not have a lot of money. The other way around (the other has the expensive), I most of the time refuse not paying the Roman way. 😉
For me, I like Tikkie for things like, for example, buying a present for somebody with a group of people. You can say, okay, we all pay 10 euros each. Somebody has to buy the present. You access Tikkie, put in the amount everybody has to pay and all get a message so they can pay easily. No cash needed and I feel I less have to chase people for payment then before Tikkie was invented.
