    Hey Chase, Im thinking of getting rapture scooter bars, but I'm not sure if i should get the "Rapture Pro Scooters Titanium T Bars" or The Rapture "ARO" Titanium Bars. I see you riding the "ARO" Titanium Bars more, but the T bars are lighter. Im a park rider and wanted your honest opinion of which you think is better after using both.

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад +1

      Hey man! Can’t go wrong with either. Its honestly a super hard decision for me between the two. I’ve had the same set of T-bars, and ARO bars for the past two or three years now. And I’m constantly rotating them on and off my set ups because they both are so good. But if I had to pick one I would probably say the Aro bars just because I’ve always loved the Yang y design but since the Aro bars have the same top tube curve, it resembles the Yang bars but at the same time gives hat extra hand room of the T bar. So I find my self riding that one more often.
      As far a weight goes between the t bar and Aro. It is nearly identical, sometimes I actually forget which set I’m riding untill I look down or do a barspin haha

    • @Luke_alex737
      @Luke_alex737 Год назад +1

      Thanks so much, I think I will go with the ARO bars, also if I am running HIC with them, do I need to get an HIC compression kit?

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад +1

      @@Luke_alex737 absolutely dude! Can’t wait to see you shredding them.
      And depends which fork you are riding right now. If you are already riding an hic fork then your good to go. If your riding a ihc fork then yeah you’ll wanna snag a ihc to Hic conversion shim. Or you could ways just slide a hic shim over your ihc compression to make up for the extra space.
      If your not for sure which compression your riding just lmk what fork you have and I should be able to help figure it out

    • @Luke_alex737
      @Luke_alex737 Год назад +1

      I am currently riding the aztek circa v3 fork

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад +1

      @@Luke_alex737 perfect that fork will work great. If you where already riding Hic then your good to go. But if you where riding scs then you will need a hic shim and a hic clamp then you’ll be set

  • @Luke_alex737
    @Luke_alex737 Год назад +1

    Chase, im a bit confused. I've always had complete scooters and never made a custom one before. When I asked you a couple days ago if I need an HIC compression kit you said not if I run an HIC fork. So, Im gonna ride the aztek circa v3 fork, but I didn't know if I needed a shim for the fork to use the rapture bars because i've seen youtube videos saying that you need a shim for HIC forks with oversized bars. I don't know if a shim is the same thing as an HIC compression kit. Also Im thinking of riding the ethic oversized sypthe clamp with the rapture ARO oversized bars, but I didn't know if it fits the HIC slit on the rapture bars. I know in the description you said that I needed to have a clamp that fits my bars, otherwise my bars could potentially break.

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад +1

      If you are just getting the aztek fork by itself, then yes you will need an hic shim. Some forks like our Rapture balanced forks have the option to get the HIC kit sent out with the fork. I don't believe Aztek forks offer this option, so you will need to purchase a separate hic shim with your forks when you order.
      But to clarify, when you ride over sized bars with an hic fork, yes you will also need an hic shim. sorry if i confused you before.
      And yes a shim is pretty much the same as a HIC compression kit. (the only reason its called a kit is because the kit has a compression bolt and compression cap, but the shim is exactly the same).
      Here is a link to a Rapture HIC kit: raptureproscooters.com/collections/accessories/products/hic-kit
      if you look through the pictures you can see how the kit includes the shim, compression cap and bolt. Hopefully that helps explain how HIC kits and shims are the same but just with a few extra parts.
      Also I would definitely not recommend the ethic sypthe clamps. They are far to short to protect your bars slit. i would recommend that you ride a clamp that is at least 1.8 inches tall and has no cut outs. that way your slit if fully covered. a few clamps that i would recommend are: Tilt arc double clamp, Root Industries Air Double clamp, and of course the Rapture balance clamp. if you can see your slit peaking out above your clamp, or through holes in a clamp, then its not going to properly support your bars slit.
      Hope that helps, definitely let me know if you need any more help, or have any questions about parts working together.

    • @Luke_alex737
      @Luke_alex737 Год назад +1

      @@ChaseRost Thanks so much, that helped a lot ❤ The Rapture balance clamp is the lightest out of the others you named, but do you know of any clamps that have the same 1.8 inch height with no cut outs, but are even lighter or is the balance clamp the lightest? I'm more of a park rider and I really like light parts that's why.

      Also, which deck is better, the pandemonium deck or the hydra deck in your opinion?

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад

      I totally feel you there man! i try my best to get my scooter as light as possible too. that why I cut holes in my Rapture deck to bring the weight down to 2.6 lbs. i managed to get my scoots overall weight down to 6.4 lbs
      A couple other clamps are:
      1. Root industries air clamp
      2. MGP MFX EXTREME DOUBLE CLAMP
      I can't find enough details on either one of these clamps to tell if they are tall enough or even lighter. But definitely don't skip out on a solid clamp. A extra ounce or two is well worth the prolonging of your bars/safety.

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад

      Also regarding decks, the pando is great but they just don't last long since the headtube supports are so thin. i've rode three other the years and only got about 1-3 months out of each max.
      The hydros look so sick, but same issue, they are made so light that they sacrifice strength.
      but both still super sick decks. Between the two, i would personally go with the one that has the size you want. if you wanna wider deck and do more grinds, then the hydra for sure, but if you wanna nimble smaller deck then a pando is great.

    I really struggle doing a whip to can plant, I can do bar can plant but whip can plant is real hard for me I don't know why. And I've been riding 10 years plus.

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад

      try to picture it like you are jumping rope one footed.
      now once you've caught the deck with your back foot, then you wanna carry your front foot over like as if you were hopping over a jump rope. another thing you can do is heel whip to can plant just to get you comfy with tossing your deck around while doing a can plant. with a heel to can plant, you don't actually hop over anything but at the same time it helps you get comfy moving around while you get into the can plant.

    Hey chase I’m not sure if a 34 inch from up and down is good for a 9 year old is it good or no?

    • @ChaseRost
      @ChaseRost  Год назад

      that definitely sounds a bit high. try measuring your bars from from the top, to where your clamp meets your deck (just above the headset). this if how you measure how tall your bars are. let me know what that size is. since he's only 9, i would definitely say anything over 20 inches is probably to big for him unless hes a super tall 9 year old. (also feel free to shoot me an email at Raptureproscooters@gmail.com This is my scooters company email. i can send pics and videos back to help you dial in the right size scooter for him)
