The CN8000A Single Port KVM over IP provides access control through “over-IP” for conventional KVM switches that do not have built in over-IP functionality. It allows system operators to monitor and access computers from remote locations using standard Web browsers or Windows and Java based application programs. The CN8000A connects to the Intranet either LAN or WAN simply by using an industry standard Cat 5e/6 cable, and is connected to a local KVM switch or server via a custom KVM cable.

Very nice, funny how many people do not know/understand that many businesses rely on "older" tech, it still works so there is no need to change.

Yes that's right but one would assume that those business relying on old tech have also bought the kit to make it work for their use case at the time... I mean you won't wake up one day and realised that you have been missing this device for the past 10 years. If you are buying a brand new KVM in 2020 I wouldn't recommend something that hasn't got support for hdmi and usb... If you have to have an old tech KVN just buy a second hand one... I don't know this looks like an obsolete product imo

Didn’t You have some problems with resolution (locally or/and remotely) or shifting a picture? I have Aten IP kvm with VGA and 2 network interfaces, supported full hd (according to a datasheet), but really it barely work in 1650x1050 (in full hd the picture is shifted to the left (and cut) and I can’t click a the Windows Start Menu), and of course I tried set proper picture view by monitor menu!
The device has the latest firmware….Support personal couldn’t help me….So You definitely need to preTest this device before You buy this. Java client works fine but Win client won’t even connect.

Sorry I no longer have this to check. No issues at the time of testing.

The "mounting brackets" look like DIN rail mounts. DIN rails are standard for mounting electrical gear. (circuit breakers, motor controllers, PLCs etc.)

I'd love to know how this compares to something like PiKVM especially in terms of latency

Could I use this on my work laptop or would security be able to spot this?

is it possible that you can access through internet with this? using method of port forwarding if this device has it's own static ip address?
