Unfortunately they don't make movies like this anymore. Hard to choose just one favorite scene so I'll just say, "Sorry, I had to go see about a girl".
I had an abusive childhood, so I really related to this movie. The one thing I would tell you is never apologize for feeling(crying), and I won’t apologize for crying when I see you cry. Great reaction!
There's absolutely no reason to say sorry for crying, every time I watch this that "it's not your fault" scene gets me crying every damn time. Don't apologise for having feelings and a heart.
When Robin Williams passed away the bench in Boston Public Garden became a huge memorial and is still a popular spot for photos to this day. I love how you were affected by Robin's character and you are not alone and it is also why he so deserved the Academy Award for this role. What truly amazes me is that Matt and Ben wrote such a layered and beautiful script at such a young age. This script started as a writing assignment Matt had while he was attending Harvard
I agree -- and, yes, "amazed" is the right word when it comes to the script writing. It required keen insight into the human condition that was certainly well beyond _my_ grasp when _I_ was that age.
Seeing all the quotes from the movie in chalk on the walkway in front of that bench absolutely destroyed me. "Your move chief". The world lost a legend when Robin Williams left us.
I heard people giving Matt and Ben a lot of flack for no reason when I was growing up. To this day they are 2 of my favorites. I will say that I am a much bigger fan of Matt Damon than I am of Ben Affleck. But I like them both because they also got their start working with Kevin Smith in the Jersey Chronicles. I'm also one of those crazy weird people who thinks Ben Affleck's Batman is really really good. He's no Christian Bale but hes definitely 2nd place. Robert Pattinson was too quiet for me or something....
The script that Matt & Ben write is not the script that was filmed. It was an extensive rewrite by very talented and experienced writers who got little to no credit.
"How do you like them apples" was coined in World War I. The anti-tank grenades looked like toffee apples with the grenade bulb on a stick. It was a taunt towards the enemy forces.

Bisscute, you mentioned how you could listent to Robin Williams talk all day long. -------- He looks happy and smiling but there is an ever-present sadness in his eyes. ------- Funny thing is he's one of the greatest comedians that ever lived, as well as one of the greatest dramatic actors in movie history, and could switch between them both flawlessly. -------- Sad to say that sadness you see in his eyes does catch up with him in real life. Sean knows what he's doing, but continues to engage without defensiveness until Will finally finds the point, which devastates Sean and takes him time to recover from. Hey Bisscute, such awesome script writing from some hollywood rookies, mind you it only cost $10 million to make the movie and it made $225 at box office, plus way more after it's initial release. ------- Affleck and Damon wanted to make a name for themselves instead of just being a cog in the Hollywood writer's wheel. ------- Instead of just selling it to a studio they wanted to be cast in it.------- They referenced what Stallone did with his Rocky script.-------- Stallone acting and writing "Rocky" is the greatest example of gambling on yourself, but this is a close second. This is my favorite movie and everytime I watch it I cry. Just brilliant acting and everyone has fears and regrets and can relate on some level. Very theraputic
"Peccadillo" means small, relatively unimportant offense or sin. He was saying he and his wife knew all of each others little "bad" habits like farting in her sleep.
Love is the greatest force in the universe; few people would deny this. "Good Will Hunting" shows what great love looks like, and how it feels. The trick is remembering how it looks and how it feels as you go out of the theatre and into the night. At home (and much later) you're lying in your bed, and still trying to go to sleep. The room is dark. You keep thinking about how you felt leaving the movie. As sleep drags you under, a thought darts and stiffens you, like remebering something you forgot you'd ever known--it's the theatre parking lot, dark and empty. You strain to wake up, but knowing you can't is where you let go, and everything closes behind you.
Wow. You are the first to let those last 2 of 4 scenes sink in and then have emotional reaction. Very interesting. Most lose it at the "not your fault". But took time to process it al and what it represented and then had tears. Very unique and awesome.
Robin Williams was a special one. He was mostly known as a comedian. We are so lucky that he shared a few serious roles with us too. Those roles were probably closer to who he really was, a kind, gentle soul.
34:08 Perrier (pronounced as in French) is a brand of carbonated mineral water. Club soda is the generic term for carbonated water -- i.e. without all the added colors, flavors, and sugar you get in Coke, 7-Up, Dr. Pepper, etc..
Ben and Matt had actually just completed their script as they were filming Dogma. They let the director Kevin Smith read it and he loved it and was instrumental in getting this movie made.

So happy you enjoyed this as much as you did and that you picked up on all the little (and big) things. I miss Robin so much. Oh and, it's not you fault. :P
I miss Robin Williams so much. I grew up watching him on Mork and Mindy. He was a great actor. His speech on the park bench was probably one of the best if not the best in a movie ever. The line he said in the end about steeling his line, was made up by Robin himself. it was not in the script. Great reaction as always!!!
You're thanking us? No, thank you !!! What a beautiful reaction. I loved every second of it. Great movie, right? I really enjoyed sharing it with you. Thanks 💙
Watched this movie many times and you described the argument between the Gerry and Sean perfectly. I never realized that they represented the heart and the mind.
Such a great movie with a star studded cast. I appreciated this movie more as I got older and understood it a lot better than when I watched it as a kid.
Strong movie and a great reaction. My favorite scene would be with Will and his friend at the demolition site when he tells him that he has a duty to his friends to use his gift.
13:02 Notice how the red Jacket Matt Damon wears have "Cobra" on it. Two decades later he plays Carroll Shelby, creator of the Shelby "Cobra". Foreshadowing of real life? ;o
That's a nice analogy you used: "heart and a brain fighting", never thought about it that way :) I always thought about it as 'mom and dad fighting' haha
The most amazing part, after watching the whole movie, is to remember that with all of those amazing scenes of dialog, to remember that those two very young guys actually wrote that movie. The real genius is in the writing of it
Lovely reaction. Everyone cries at that famous scene. Also Robin Williams won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He was born to play this part. When you think those young lads wrote this story! I hope you work through your issues successfully. It's not good to carry them to later life. I know this from painful experience.
The saying, “how do you like them apples?” It’s an inflammatory statement used when telling someone that you achieved something they thought was unattainable for you.
SUCH a great reaction! Oh gosh never apologize for tears especially from a great movie like this. A little trivia, Matt Damon in his fifth year at Harvard was in a playwriting class. With the help of his best friend Ben Affleck they wrote this script. 5 years later when shooting started with Robin Williams they stood together and wept because of it. Yeah crying can be the best of our reactions.
Let me know your favorite scene from this movie ! ❤
My favorite scene is the park bench scene. Robin Williams’ delivery is so subtle, yet so powerful.

"How do you like them apples" was coined in World War I. The anti-tank grenades looked like toffee apples with the grenade bulb on a stick. It was a taunt towards the enemy forces.
It basically means "in your face".
It’s a Boston way of saying in your face, how do you like dem apples and I live in Denver and know that.
How do you like them apples? A gloating expression of triumph, or an expression of surprise in a change in fate.
Love that you mentioned that you watched Dogma. I highly underrated movie IMHO
Robin Williams = an angel.

Thanks 💙
I’ve never seen this emotional in a reaction. I really like it. ❤️❤️🥰
The last line by Robin Williams was an ad lib. Amazing.
Great reaction. Soon as I saw you had done this I had to watch. (knew you would love it) Thank you again and be well girl. 😄
Watched this movie many times and you described the argument between the Gerry and Sean perfectly. I never realized that they represented the heart and the mind.
"Rounders" is another great Matt Damon movie.
The brain and the heart fight is a very good and smart comparison for the two professors. First time I've ever heard that.
Another, exceptionally great reaction from you. You amaze this old, old man.
Thank you so much
This is my favorite movie of all time. I am so happy that you liked it.
One of the best movies. One of Robin Williams many great roles, and launched Matt and Ben into stardom
Best part about this reaction is when you said it's the brain and the heart fighting. That's truth
“ It’s not your fault.” The one line out of the entire movie that completely fucking wrecks me every single time.
13:02 Notice how the red Jacket Matt Damon wears have "Cobra" on it.
Two decades later he plays Carroll Shelby, creator of the Shelby "Cobra".
Foreshadowing of real life? ;o
Interesting but no I dont think its foreshadowing ❤
Fantastic reaction! Love to see your honest emotions! Take care!!
That's a nice analogy you used: "heart and a brain fighting", never thought about it that way :) I always thought about it as 'mom and dad fighting' haha
You don't have to apologise for crying through this movie. It's a beautiful film from start to finish and so well written and performed. 😢
The most amazing part, after watching the whole movie, is to remember that with all of those amazing scenes of dialog, to remember that those two very young guys actually wrote that movie. The real genius is in the writing of it
This movie always grabs me by the throat.Amazing to think that 2 friends sat down and wrote this in school and got Robin Williams his only Oscar.
"Emotional damage". You know, the present is so incredibly unbelievable. :)
This movie takes you to the dark places and brings you back out into the sunshine. It's great. 🤗
You never worry about tears of joy 😉 favourite scene is when Shaun says "your move chief" at the park.
love your personality! great reaction!
