    Great hand! A clear 3-bet spot preflop I agree with Bart. Poker has finally returned to Boston Encore and the wait-list is usually deep, as well as the stacks. The 2/5 game is capped at $1k, 1/3 at $500. And both now are featuring a brand new, exciting (definitely for the casino and certainly Daniel Negreanu as well) an industry leading rake of $10+$1+$1 up to 10% for anyone interested

    I remember when NL first started being played in casinos. There were no straddles and before jumping up in stakes, I started at 2/5 for a few months. Every game I ever played in the US (including NY underground clubs) were a 200-500 buy in.

    Low VPIP doesn't mean solid player. Now when guys almost never limp that's a easy early sign of a good player.

    • @supersmoo7377
      @supersmoo7377 Год назад +3

      And at the same time, as poker players, we shouldn’t put other players on a pedestal unless they are actually solid winning pros.. and even then, people still tend to tighten up against them; meanwhile they should be doing the opposite and be more aggressive towards them, since pros are likely to have a balanced strategy of bluffs and value. Fight fire with fire.

I made a crying call, and they had 2nd & 3rd pair, and 3rd & 4th pair (with that 8 that should have changed nothing). My top top 2 held and I got all da monies! Good times!

  • @cnyjay

    On the flop, the cbet + call before Hero's action would happen with ANY two Broadway cards so these flop actions mean little. The only hand that isn't two Broadways is 66 or J9. It's almost like this is a short-deck game because of the preflop action and the characteristics of the Villains. It's a great hand for education.

    I think caller may be underestimating CO. If hero is passive against these players, perhaps CO, being a good player, recognizes this. He might call wide knowing he will rarely get raised by BB. Also hero underrepped his hand, so either villain probably isn't giving him AQ. I think CO or LJ could have alot of backdoor flush draws on the turn. On the river, I think it's likely CO raises all his flushes. Maybe he thinks LJ is overbluffing. When he calls, I think he likely has a bluff catcher like QJ with the diamond or AJo with the diamond. He knows his call looks strong, and will get hero to fold hands like A2-9 spades and hero could have other spade draws.

  • @redahansali132
    @redahansali132 Год назад

    This is why 3betting preflop and not being afraid of « solid » players is important. It would have saved the stack. KJ might fold preflop, and even if it doesn’t, a c-bet on the flop might maybe do it.
    Not sure I believe the guy who says he had a set given that he played so passively with so many draws out there. Especially if he had 66 or TT (QQ very unlikely) bevause it does not block any of the good hands AND the draxing hands the opponents will call with.

      @Jimmy Two Times They're both good players who you know can fold and you know the CO has called light, there's a good chance the LJ has opened light and that you'll get 2 folds and pick up the dead money. It's a standard 3 bet in this spot tbh.

    • @420villain

      If u 3 bet as played u would lose even more money, and they aren't opening light

    • @Charlie_Ses
      @Charlie_Ses Год назад

      @Jimmy Two Times No shit, a middle pocket pair is exactly the hand I would expect him to call with. Given the flop comes QT6, and I have a Q and would expect him to 3 bet with TT, he only has 66 as a flopped set, or maybe QT. And he's very unlikely to have either.
      Not sure why you're getting so damn uptight about me saying I'd 3 bet it, if you want to call that's fine you call, people play different to you though. Relax.

    • @Charlie_Ses
      @Charlie_Ses Год назад

      @420villain Why aren't players opening light, unless they're total nits? They should be opening most AXs, a lot of KXs, a lot of smaller suited connectors etc. There are more hands he's opening and folding to a 3 bet than he's opening and 4 betting/calling if he's anything other than a nit.

    • @Charlie_Ses
      @Charlie_Ses Год назад

      @Jimmy Two Times And trappy players are dead easy to spot and adjust against, super passives who keep showing up with the goods. Too easy to play against as you can take it easy with middling or better hands, fold when they show serious aggression and value bet them to hell when you have it. Better to be more balanced than too trappy imo.

A whole lot of sense. Missed spades isn't calling river. 66 really is the only hand that makes sense as to how he played it. Any other set probably would have raise pre.
