The employee doesn't typically stand a chance. Any employer who is so low to retaliate against an employee who acts in good faith, is just like a con artist.
@melanie I'm going through the same thing and it's to the point where it's affecting my health, my sleep, my mental and it sucks because the director, supervisors,HR, and the employees who are bullying me are all friends and then there's me everyday that I come into work I feel scared I've already been to the hospital for an anxiety attack during my work lunch break....
It riles you up for war. Brings the soldier out of men. We're going to see an upcoming generation of remasculated boys who put their foot down (collectively) and show some spoiled, narcissists their place.
It's sad that in our own communities we feel that we need to go to war with our own selfish greedy and plain old psychopathic employers. Psychopaths should be punished in any sane, moral society. In ours however they are richly rewarded. Sickening.
Wow, I didnt even know this was a thing... i am currently in this situation with a supervisor. He hasn't spoken more than 5 words to me in weeks. I'm a lead person, or was, not sure now cuz, I'm certainly not treated or addressed as such. I was training 2 new guys on each end of a saw, he takes the newest guy and let's him help another guy do a ONE MAN JOB ON A ONE MAN SAW. So, now I'm a stacker and neither has been properly trained on how to properly operate a saw nor stack off one. I could literally go on and on... but I have recordings now, started those this week.
Oh, and he told a saw operator across from where I work at to spy on me all day and then report to him if I'm not working properly. Keep in mind that the supervisor isn't even my direct supervisor and that employee isn't management with any type of authority. The workplace environment is toxic at best now... I seen the mad SV (supervisor) by my yeti cup on Monday and when I took a sip the drink tasted funny. Immediately, I thought he'd done something to it and I poured it out. An employee shouldn't have to feel horrible about going to work when they've done nothing wrong. Even at this very moment, I've not been told the reasoning behind all this. That's insane to me...
What do you do when your mgr does insidious things like scheduling you a “required meeting” > writes you up for attending it because you “didn’t ask permission to attend it” or gives you an assignment to complete by day end (to work on between calls) then cranks your call volume up so you don’t have even 1 second in between all day long until shift end? (Normally there can be up to 25 minutes between calls.) Or tells you to cut your lunch break short to finish work then writes you up for not adhering to your schedule by taking your full lunch? I spoke w mgmt & HR but they referred me to their “internal hotline” (which is operated by the management who is responsible.) I’m resigning. Sad because I loved the job itself. 😢 The weirdest thing they did was when they started emailing me a bunch of doctored screenshots making me look like the one at fault so far as the not adhering to the scheduling thing. Then they told me to request time to work on a project. I did. But they put it in my schedule 30 mins before they even told me to request it. Like our conversation was at 9am and at 9:02am they gave me time in my schedule for 8:30am to 8:45am. I don’t have a time travel ship so….. 😢
HR protects the company. You need better training for managers not just videos that they have to watch to check a box. I worked at a company that had onsite training for sexual harrassment and the managers walked out of the meeting complaining that they cant say anything anymore. Perhaps, the manager should stop harassing and saying stupid things to or in front of women. Managers rarely admit they are the issue. You should NOT play favorites. It causes alot of resentment with other employees. Many managers have NO clue how to manage. It’s all ego.
Thanks for helping the community. I was terminated from a university professor job because of title XII retaliation. My attorney screwed up by missing the Discovery deadline and after that lost interest in my case. He could not get away with representation because of the risk of malpractice, but lost interest in my case and continued with the worst representation i could imagine. Because i did not have the resources to hire another lawyer and the case was more than half way through, i had no choice but to continue. Despite my disappointment, he prepared an extremely weak summary judgement brief without putting enough time on it or strategizing the case, or disputing the incorrect claims of the opposition, and i lost the summary judgement. The rationale provided in the summary judgement is "insufficient evidence to prove material fact" is incorrect because abundant evidence was provided and the summary judgement has not refuted or referenced to any of those evidence, but only vaguely stated "insufficient evidence". I would like to know how can i appeal to move the case for a trial. As stated, i am not able to retain another attorney unless on contingency. Can attorney's ineffective representation be a ground for appeal? Can i self-represent? Do you have other recommendations?
@@brendaechols2228 yes but there’s way of getting around this which is using code words. Also even if they break the law what is the average person gonna do? Unless you been documenting every incident and recording all interactions and can afford a lawyer most people are fucked.
Our Executive Director retaliated against me ... put me on leave for no reason except he did not like that I questioned him. I already had a a grievance filed 3 weeks earlier. I am definitely filing charges.
LOL. Giving a manager "emotional support" but no mention of giving their victim the same support, nor holding the manager accountable. This is some hilarious bull and exactly what I expect from HR "professionals".
I am surprised to listen to this… i have sued a few times not because I can but because managers behave very badly and they need to learn. There are alot of very unprofessional men out there that behave badly. The reality is that it’s mostly men behaving this way. Yes, I just dealt with a narc woman too who did nothing but sabotage my efforts because she was threatened however, it’s the men that try to fear you into submission. I am old enough now that I refuse to put up with it. Men hire their “buddies” and they have NO clue how to manage people and they get super cocky and have no clue that they are a liability to the company. Most men will favor their buddies too by setting them up for success. The good thing is that I know the laws and document the stupidity as it happens. This isnt about a money grab, it’s about principle and the behaviors need to be corrected. When there’s alot of insecurity in the workplace, people behave badly.

SAD PART....many times managers are buddies w people from HR....and employees always end up losing and guilty.....
Ours were
So true best to contact corporate
If anyone didn't know that HR is a part of the company. HR is used to Weed out any potential problem employees if we are being truthful.
That is the best description I have seen for HR
Really sad part it’s entirely legal to bully& psychologically torture the hell out of a non assertive person who is gentle & just wants to work.
That's my reality right now 😮

The system is designed for Narcissistic managers to thrive.
Can being given more work than others be considered retaliation?
But they will always DENY they are retaliating and it seems are believed

Thats exactly the best way to describe it. Psychopaths.
I tried to help another employee find a better paying job and was fired.

Ha. No one can understand that unless they have experienced this psycho employee / employer type stuff. Some people are inscrupulous.
They retaliete when they say we won't hire u if u don't put in 2 weeks notice but last I checked its employee choice not contract work
I filed a merit complaint, than a few weeks later I was served with an adverse action. Retaliation?
I know some one else this happened to.
Yep
Yes!
After 63 weeks, I don't want to get even, or mad. I already applied for Unemployment, and put in some applications. They retaliated against me.
What is the painting in the frame in the background?

If an employee doesn’t report but feels as if there supervisor retaliates because u said something she didn’t like, can the supervisor retaliate
YES ,,, 100%.

How can an employee know if they were given a negative reference?
they dont
+Donald Dreger well that's just great. Thanks though!
only way to know besides someone letting you know is to call them up as an employer to see what they will say
Company cannot say anything bad about the employee. Usually it "favorable" or "unfavorable". Or they will ask if u would rehire this person again.
