    Your theory and calculations are absolutely correct, but using a 13 kilo ohms resistor at 220 volts will burn out the LED, Because at that time not 16 milliampere- more than 200 milliampere current is flowing in the circuit. ❤

    Thank you for this great tutorial! I knew quite well how to calculate current limiting resistance for LEDs before watching this. However, I usually watch the same content over and over again to solidify my understanding. I also feel that learning from different sources always adds fine bits of knowledge to my repertoire. The whole point of this is that I don't watch mediocre videos. I always watch the best on RUclips.

    Yes, LEDs light up based upon the current flowing through them. Use ohm's law to calculate the resistance on a given voltage in which it is to be used and the power formula to calculate the resistor wattage so that the resistor wattage should not be less than the calculated wattage of the circuit. If to be used in AC, parallel another LED or rectifier diode in reverse bias as a reverse voltage protection.

    13k will definitely burn the circuit @ 220v. In real time people use 100k resistance with diode 4007. Kindly explain

      100k Resistance use only for safty. Because 2-3v led light is a dc base bulb not for ac voltage. But true circuit calculation showed in this video. I hope you understood this.

      Usually led operates on about 2-3 volt if you use a 2 or 3 volt battery you can connect the led directly
      For higher voltages resistance is added for protection

Question - If I have 1.8V input Voltage, then How would I calculate Resistance? as I have seen LEDs with operating voltage (VL) 1.8V. agar min voltage to turn ON the LED is 1.8V. Toh usko kaise select kare? This case is when I wants to select LED as well as resistance. I only have 1.8V input voltage.. Please guide.

    Ok sir i practicl
    with 1k resistor the Voltage Drop was 1.99V and current passing through LED was 7.9mA
    with 220ohm Voltage drop 1.85 volt and current was 30mA
    With 700K the Voltage drop was 1.55Volt current was 3 micro Ampere.
    This method is good to find voltage drop but Current varry according to resistor hence Data sheet would be better.
