My sister went there allll the time I still go to Rundle mall just to look up in the Myer centre a just think what WAS there. I wish it’d come back. R.I.P dazzleland
Aw geez. It’s sad to see the place looking like that. 🥺 Really it SHOULD have been installed on the Terrace of the Myer Centre instead of being mounted in the roof. The roller coaster was the most dangerous running over a huge hole - an 8 storey drop splat straight onto the Terrace below... My Dad was a Mall Cop at the Myer Centre during the mid 1990s And was given a free family pass for me to spend the day up there in DazzleLand. Great memories... until the Friday Night we got a phone call like 3 minutes before he was meant to knock off for the night: “I’m gonna be home late - WE’VE HAD A SUICIDE JUMPER! 😕 Jumped off the DazzleLand Rollercoaster mid-motion. Splat! Straight down to the Terrace (basement floor) where the Centre food court was. 🥺🤢🤮 My Dad also admitted that every single time Jazz Junction roared across the track - it made the entire building shake and the noise was at times unbelievable. 😰 Although DazzleLand was located on Levels 4 & 5, it was actually 8 storeys high. “Terrace” was the basement. “Rundle” was the ground floor. “Promanard” was actually the first floor but it was tucked away and not easy to see as you stepped under the whole at floor level. Levels 1-5 were actually floors 3-8. From memory: Level 4 where DazzleLand began was usually the arcade section, the souvenir shop & the DazzleLand cafe. Level 5 was where all the rides and the boarding area for Jazz Junction was.
Damn, I grew up with Dazzeland. Was 9 when it opened in 1992, between 92 - 95 went there countless times. It's crazy how just seeing that bumper car area makes memories come flooding back. If I recall correctly, level 4 also had a few of the smaller 'kiddie' rides whereas 5 was Jazz Junction, bumper cars and stuff. There was a shooting gallery somewhere in there too.
@@user-rs1990 The lifts werent programmed the signal switch was probably left on whenever you try use the button they remove the wire that sends the signal to the elevator to go to that floor which can probably be acsessed behind the button panel.
I can understand say removing the roller coaster, but the upper level of that place would make an ex art exhibit or arcade. Kinda a waste to level level 5 dormant
You know a place is from the late 80s-early 90s when in has those yellow heating ducts can be seen at 2:19 Also its weird how the walls are slanted. I wonder what going on structure wise underneath for them to have those angles. Sloped roof?
It’s So dark! That is so sad though I miss dazzle land I have heard so much about it but never went there

I feel a bit spooked out when watching this!
this was a little before my time. I still think it's so unreal that there was an amusement park up there.

What is Dazzleland? I've never heard of it before?
It was Australia's indoor theme park and its main attraction was an electric powered roller coaster.
@@user-rs1990 How did you get up there? I thought it wasnt accessible to the public.
@@chelseab487 The lifts were temporarily programmed to access Level 5.
