Bacolod, officially the City of Bacolod (/bɑːˈkɔːləd/; Hiligaynon: Dakbanwa/Syudad sang Bacolod; Tagalog: Lungsod ng Bacolod), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the region of Western Visayas, Philippines.It is the capital of the province of Negros Occidental, where it is geographically situated but governed administratively independent.
With a total of 600,783 inhabitants as of the 2020 census, it is the most populous city in Western Visayas and the second most populous city in the entire Visayas after Cebu City. [6] It is the center of the Bacolod metropolitan area, which also includes the cities of Silay and Talisay with a total population of 791,019 inhabitants, [9] along with a total area of 578.65 km2 (223.42 sq mi).
It is notable for its MassKara Festival held during the third week of October and is known for being a relatively friendly city, as it bears the nickname "The City of Smiles". The city is also famous for its local delicacies piaya and chicken inasal.
Iloilo City, officially the City of Iloilo, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Bacolod has a lot of class and delicious foods to offer, Iloilo wala namang gaanong masasarap na pagkain besides batchoy at kung tutuosin mas masarap pa ang batchoy ng Bacolod, ang Bacolod may Calia, most visited place when it comes to cakes and pastries, next Felicia and Bob's resto at marami pang nagsusulputan na bagong resto na masasarap kaya ang tawag sa Bacolod is Food Haven, pero ang Iloilo wala gaanong compliments.
For me Iloilo is more economically progressive than Bacolod but Bacolod has the potential to surpassed Iloilo in the future because of its land area and also investor is flocking in Bacolod, but i would rather choose Bacolod as a laid back urban city because of the cheap cost of living in Bacolod especially in the food and having the tourist in its nearby cities that what makes it unique than Iloilo which is already more urbanized

Nadamay nga lang Ang Iloilo na tinatawag na tikalon Ang original Naman talaga Ang bacolodnon kag taga negros occidental. Bacolod City wanted to separate in Iloilo as a new region, but Iloilo Poli tical agenda really don't want to separate the region it's because of huge volume of supplies of products from Bacolod, of course a region were capital tax invasion absorb in Iloilo it's because of Drilon. Bacolod can stand alone in a new region, but due to political already registered in Manila legally yon na. It's unfair in Bacolod side.

ILOILo city is originally not ideal for residential, agriculture, and industrial buildings, it's below sea level , lagi binabaha nung wala pa ang flood control .the Iloilo river is not really a river but an arm of the sea.yes , parte po SYA ng dagat,maalat ang mga deep wells dahil napapasok ng tubig dagat ang mga aquifers sa lupa. Just an honest observation. The infrastructure development between Bacolod and Iloilo is very different from one another. I've noticed that the development of Iloilo is more concentrated in dense and compact business zones, while the development of Bacolod is more thoroughly spread out and scattered. Iloilo looks more imposing and massive since the buildings were concentrated in commercial districts like the Iloilo Business Park, while Bacolod's buildings are sprouting in major thoroughfares and highways. Nevertheless, both cities are great.
Ilo-ilo's buildings just look more dense simply because they have lots of buildings there.

Iloilo City for is not the best I stay for almost a year I suffered my allergy coz of water stagnant tubig poso and floody place and crowed and pollution and hot place for me is not livable

Bacolod has more potential than iloilo dahil mas malaki ang land area at mas malaki din ang population nila, meaning mas malaki ang consumers/ market at more area to develope plus closer to Cebu which is whatever economic trade between 2 province or cities mas logistically ideal while ang iloilo disadvantage logistically compared sa Bacolod. Yan din ang reason kung bakit ang iloilo inspite sa naging progressive in the past during the Spanish era napag iwanan na ng Cebu, Davao, CDO, Bacolod, even Palawan and Zamboanga etc. dahil logistically iloilo is not strategically located. 20 years from now Bacolod will be competing with Davao not iloilo.

Malaki ang city ng cebu pero solong maliit na isla ito kumpara sa mas malaking isla kung saan naroroon ang Iloilo.
Cebu is cebu only and has only 1 airport and few seaport kaya concentrated sa cebu mainland ang developmemts. Sa panay its a group of privinces with each respective airports kaya hindi concentrated yung tao sa isang place lang
@@rizaa.mlazada4078 Pero sa iloilo ang pinakabusier na seaport sa panay kasi dito mas extensive ang farming at nadagdagan pa ng kita abroad dahil sa mga ofw at expats.
@@alexonorep5978 yes its the busiest port in panay but its not for international use. So ofw and expats are out in the picture. But if only they will approve the port of iloilo to be internationalized. Theres no need for cargos to stop over in cebu or manila. Iloilo will be opened to the world again
@@alexonorep5978 agree..kaya nga sabi nila.maliit ang Iloilo..pero di nila alam aside sa mga export products likes mga agricultural crop and fisheries ,malaki ang perang pumapasok sa Iloilo kask halos abroad .mas maraming mga seaman..,andami na din nag aaral galing sa ibang probinsya na...na pumapasok ang pera sa lugar ...at halos pagmamay ari ng mga business lokal ..
@@journevivbasco3462 Sinasabi nila na maliit ang iloilo para lumaki lang ang ego nila pero obvious na wala sa hulog ang argumento. Importante lang naman sa progress e kung nakikinabang nga ang mga nakatira sa lugar hindi iyong iilan lang. Iyong hindi siksikan at maraming libangan at sapat na kabuhayan.
