Pakistan's Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto vowed Saturday to fight international terrorism - despite the threat from Muslim extremists.
It's feared she could face reprisals following the arrest in Pakistan of Ramzi Yousef, chief suspect in the World Trade Centre bombing in New York.
APTV has been on Yousef's trail - in this special report from Islamabad.
This is the hotel in Islamabad where Ramzi Yousef was arrested last week.
Yousef was only at the hotel for one night.
All evidence of his stay has been removed, but the manager says Yousef behaved suspiciously.
    SOUND BITE:
All the time the room was locked nobody come and go, because he don't like any tea and water, nothing, twenty four hours he live in his room and not come out, when he comes out he locked the door, key with him, and go out.
SUPER CAPTION: Musawar Qazi, Hotel Manager.
As fears rise of a Muslim fundamentalist backlash in Pakistan, the country's prime minister Benazir Bhutto - on the visit to the Philippines - insisted Saturday her government had acted correctly in deporting Yousef.
    SOUNDBITE :
In the arrest of Ramzi, irrespective of any backlash, we believe we are on the high moral ground because we have acted according to Pakistan's own internal laws and according to international laws. And as long as the people's government is in power, we'll continue to abide by international laws and its own laws.
SUPER CAPTION: Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto
Western coverage of Yousef's case has angered Islamic students in Pakistan.
Here at the Islamic University in Islamabad, students say their religion is a peaceful one.
    SOUND BITE:
Western media are always talking on this point, that there is a prior plan, that they are committing something against the West, but we want to clarify that there is nothing like this, and we feel that we should live as we are by our religion, which gives us a lesson of
peace and love to each other.
SUPER CAPTION: Abdullah Dowrrini, Islamic Student.
And Muslim leaders are concerned that Yousef is being used as an excuse for the West to attack followers of Islam.
    SOUND BITE:
I think no one can say that if an unjust act is done by a person, may he be Muslim, non-muslim, it justifies - no. Being a Muslim doesn't justify whatever a person is doing, Islamic, and that will be highly irrational, highly illogical and unscientific.
SUPER CAPTION: Professor Anis Ahmad, Director General, Islamic University.
Prime Minister Bhutto says her government is keen to improve Pakistan's image in the fight against global terrorism.
    She plans a crackdown.
    SOUNDBITE
Within Pakistan itself, we are very keen to start regulating different institutions that we can identify where militancy springs from. I think not enough attention was given in the past within Pakistan to the problem of militancy.
SUPER CAPTION Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto
Some 97 percent of Pakistan's 130 million people are Muslims and many of its laws are guided by Islamic principles.
There's controversy at the moment over the death sentence passed on a 14 year old Christian boy accused of blaspheming Islam.
The Muslim community here hopes such cases won't make Islam's image in the West even worse than it is already.

It sure is. I am a Muslim & i condemn terrorism.
These terrorist organisations use religion to brainwash & manipulate young people to become members and perform acts of violence "in the name of islam" but in reality for their own hatred & ego. It's a brainwash tactic.
You clearly have no knowledge on any of this.
