My heart really goes out to all innocent people who have become victim of this invasion of Afghanistan and the 9/11 attack. Alqaeda the supposed villain was and have been a product of the US regime. If the Afghan Army, after 89 billions of dollars of military funding from the US during 20 years, is not able to counter the Taliban aggression, than the intervention is futile. Afghanisan is bound to be controlled by the Taliban.

Here we are, 5 days after the Taliban humiliated the US by retaking their country. Ronald Reagan was the godfather of radical Islam which led us to where we are today. Too bad Reagan never lived long enough (and he had Alzheimer's long before his death) to see the destruction he unleashed on the Afghan people for the next 40 years (still continuing), and the tens of millions around the world who are victims of the ideology Reagan helped midwived, including Americans who perished on 9/11. Seldom in recent history has there been such a blow back. Yet, coming to think of it, almost everything the US has touched in the realm of foreign policy in the last 50 years has turned into absolute shxt. How about go back within your borders and learn to mind your own business, instead of sticking your nose into other countries' internal affairs where you don't belong?

Many people may think just because of the outer appearance that those people in the video are all Taliban fighters. But they're not. They are leaders representing a large and united resistance against the Soviets. The Taliban may be among them, but not alone. It should also be known that Taliban and Al-Qaida are not the same thing. Al-Qaida is blacklisted in the US as a terrorist group, but the Taliban are not. Thus, it is not right to say that the mujahedeen supported by the US against the Soviets were the same extremists responsible for 9/11 and fighting against the Americans until recently. Let's remember that the Soviets invaded many countries, and nobody resisted to them but the Afghans. The Soviet Union could even survive if they didn't fight and weakened it for so many years, and no Eastern Europe would be part of NATO today. It's thus true what President Reagan told them: "You are a nation of heroes!" Although they may have many inner issues related to extremism and poverty, the Afghan people deserve respect.

And the absolute worst choice was GWB's choice to let Bin Laden go at Tora Bora in Dec 2001. That gave the Taliban the idea that the US wasn't really committed, even after 3,000 Americans had just been killed in New York and Washington, and that the way might one day open for them to come back. And that moment was the beginning of the end of the US as the world's sole superpower.
