As a Birmingham native and a convicted felon who's been to prison. I'll say this guy is way off base with his takes on things. There are tons of black cops, black judges. A black mayor, city council etc. If after only living between b,ham and Montgomery for a year you've been involved in what he says. Maybe look at your life choices and use some street smarts while moving around.

I reside in Alabama, I don’t know what you had happen to you here, but don’t be trying to victimize Hispanics here. Where I live Hispanics move in a neighborhood and completely take the whole block, they are welcomed with opens arms to open businesses and they don’t have to deal with racism when renting or buying homes like African Americans here. You are talking in circles and your point is being misunderstood because you are trying to make you and your people the victims here. It’s not at all that way, Hispanics are being portrayed as regular upstanding citizens here. I don’t know where you are getting this from but it’s false. You have several valid points, but stop back pedaling mid conversation. I think I commented under one of your videos when you were touring Alexander city, and tried to tell you then how this place was and you took to the defense saying that you had people where you are from to handle things for you. I was simply telling you how these people were. And no one is afraid to speak out here, when we see wrong doings we try to prevent it if possible regardless if it’s the police or not, especially if it’s the police as a matter of fact. Do better research before you doom a whole state to be bad. You were just trying to fit in places they felt you didn’t belong. It’s just like that in some places. And I don’t know what the Montgomery riverboat brawl meant for you, but black people had been waiting to do that right there. You think we are afraid of the oppressors here, but we are just waiting for the right time to express ourselves. Hate you had a bad experience but maybe you were in the wrong areas.

Moved to Birmingham due to family, and instantly regretted it. Family wasn’t even here for a complete year, and some demonic beings opened fire on me and my family when we answered our front door. Me and my mother were the only two standing at the door, but my little sister was in bathroom when the gunfire erupted.
Say what you want about your love for Birmingham, but to ignore the blatant problems the Black community is facing right now is ridiculous and the problem in itself. The cops are crooked as hell in Birmingham too so good luck on the criminals getting caught and brought to justice.

By the way, Birmingham has had democratic mayors since the 40's. People forget that alabama was pretty solidly democratic until 1986, which was the first year they voted in a Republican governor since the reconstruction era. That shift happened after the government started getting heavy on governmental regulations that shut down all of our industries and sent businesses overseas for cheaper labor and freer commerce.
Since the GoP became a majority in 2010, alabama has been slowly growing overall. Look at Huntsville. Its flourishing under a conservative mayor. Wheras Birmingham...well, its been run by democrats for 80 years so, take from that what you will.

My comment was just an observation about how quiet the city centre was. And the rate of pay in the state I think contributes to the mentality of people there. Why work for peanuts when you can chill and do what you want, good or bad, and get away with it? That is their mindset. I only visit family from time to time. But there's no way I would move there. 💯

I feel you Mark.. I'm 44 born and raised in Montgomery but I've been living in Birmingham since 2004. I'mma be honest with you though I feel safer up here in Birmingham than in Montgomery. At least up here we have Black events where we come together and can party and have fun. In Montgomery they just recently had a shootout at the Riverside. The guy had a permit and they said it was casings all over the ground. From multiple shooters.. they sprayed the place only the grace of God and his angels that it wasn't a multiple homicide.

This is a clear example of from the outside looking in. I'm a 50 year old Birmingham native...Birmingham was built on iron and steel, the steel and iron plants packed up and left after stripping the natural resources taking with them jobs and tax money for schools. Next, schools that had been in place for generations were closed down. These things taking place just in time for REGANOMICTS...which brought on the Crack epidemic and mass incarceration of black men. So the Birmingham alabama that we see today is the product of that domino effect...#FACT

From AL & Birmingham and some of the points you made were true. But some of your points were wrong and possibly bias.
One of the reasons it’s so bad and not mentioned even not admitted by law enforcement is that Birmingham is a check point for drug trafficking and smuggling, and also human and s3x trafficking as well. People have gone missing in Birmingham and it’s like no one bats an eye most victims are women and children and from the black or Hispanic community. There’s also a drug problem where a lot of big drug busts goes unnoticed .
Lastly there’s the rise in gang activity. There is both a large black and Latino gang community that is active in the streets that’s been that way for a long time from what I remember.
Bham politicians are also mad crooked
