The amount and severity of violence against teachers in schools is horrific. However, the conclusion by these teachers and Dr. Susan McMahon that “we need more funding” is incorrect. No amount of money or in-school counseling is going to make a parent instill values in their children like respect for adults, respect for human life, and basic human empathy. Sorry but this is purely the result of two things: 1. Bad parenting and 2. Continued erosion of holding people accountable for their actions - making excuses for people based on their background, etc.

Giving these students more things like counselors and recess will not help. Entitlement is the problem. They need to experience severe consequences for their actions.

100% - they are not held accountable, nor are their parents.

Programmers should expect some push back from the people they’re trying to program.
