Loved the shots of Parliament and the Elizabeth Tower with Big Ben. Its a wonder your little drone wasn't shot down for breaching the airspace around Parliament. Glad it got away safe :)
@@danielz8186 Before drone sightings were manufactured and lied about around airports, in order to push through draconian new laws, and mislead the population with lies in the MSM. While the BBC air a blatantly biased documentary, showing scientifically inaccurate tests, that most people believe are true. (even the presenter has apologised for being mislead). I am going to make a prediction here, that some sort of dramatic drone 'accident' will happen in the next 6 months, to make sure that registration is well and truly enforced. Sad days indeed.
Totally illegal and dangerous. I've sent a lot of money any time investing in CAA certification and this style of behaviour will one cause an accident and ruin it for all.
Richard Pinches rest assured that whatever time and money you spent on CAA certification, we've done more :) you're talking to the arguably most experienced urban operators in the world, who happen to not only fly, but also manufacture these things.
These guys brought drones to reality, of course rules rightly restrict flying like this today, this was nearly ten years ago... Thankyou Trappy and gang, this is epic drone history 🙏❤️
The drone flying in this video may be breaking the safety rules which are in place to protect the public from injury. Under these rules, the remote pilot cannot fly a drone within 50 metres of people, vehicles, buildings or structures or over an urban area or large group of people at any height. The drone must also stay within direct, unaided visual line of sight of the pilot, which is unlikely to be achieved beyond a distance of 500 metres. Don't take risks with your drone, be safe, be legal. For more info go to www.caa.co.uk/uas and click on 'Specific Regulations'
Donald Sayers we didn't mark this as SPAM. I believe you are mixing up "incidents" and "violations", too. "Violations" don't create new rules, as they already violate rules. "Incidents" which are not yet "violations" will create new rules, and rightfully so. If you drive 50 mph in a 30mph zone, that's a violation and will be ticketed. No need to createn new rules. If you create an accident in a 50mph zone due to increased speed, people will be inclined to drop the speed limit down to 30mph. Makes sense? UKCAA Personally I think the rules in the UK are quite OK, and on RUclips you can see there are some BNUC-S licensed operators who are doing exactly this kind of flying without incidents (same locations, too). There are several pilots in the UK that fly the same drone as used in this video with BNUC-S certification. We are perfectly qualified to operate under BNUC-S requirements, however the price of this certification is prohibitive and I personally think that if safety is the main concern, it should be a lot cheaper. It doesn't make sense for someone who does one flight in the UK to pay this amount of money only to hear what he already knows, and to have his drone "approved" by someone with about a tenth of the airtime as oneself. That's my 5 cents on this, thanks for being one of the best aviation authorities when it comes to drones, we definitely recognize that you guys are favorable to the industy and that it may take a few years to get all the kinks ironed out.
Team BlackSheep So you admit to violating the CAA rules, but figure that this is OK, as you only got told off by a policeman and no one got hurt, so there was no "incident". By your argument you have exactly the same moral standing as people who post videos of themselves speeding on the UK roads.
no need if you launch and land from public land (such as sidewalks or roads). we got sent out of tower castle because it was royal ground. they said we could fly from the sidewalk :)
This video is brilliant. I was thinking of doing the exact same thing but yours is way better than I'd manage, I haven't even tried flying yet. Great stuff, subscribed!
can you show me the part in the video where it actually falls on someones head? or are you just too incompetent to fly one yourself and are therefore asking others not to do it also ...
The CAA have just prosecuted a man from Barrow in Furness for breaching restricted airspace with a drone. The quad copter crashed into the water next to the submarine pens at BAE Systems Walney island. This is where they build the Vangaurd nuclear submarines. Anyway the short version is his own FPV footage convicted him and he was fined £800 plus BAE were awarded costs of £3500. The CAA state that recreational use of UAV's must abide by aviation safety rules, anyone using these for aerial work must obtain a "permission" and in some cases pass the air law exam. There is more information on the bmfa.org website.
Currently FPV in NZ has non specific rules. You cannot fly anything within 4km of an air port - unless there is an exemption in place. You can fly to altitude as long as you are not flying in controlled airspace and a NOTAM is issued.
It's pretty tragic that people condemning this video are being called kill joys, when generally all they want is to continue to fly their RPAS without some numbskull doing something to cause severe restrictions on anyone who flies them, surely that's the OPPOSITE of a kill joy? Near misses are becoming more common as predicted by how many more RPAS are in the sky, people will watch this video, think it's cool, want some of the action, buy a quadcopter and think the actions in this video are acceptable, completely oblivious to the fact that they can be prosecuted for it. What your opinion is on whether it's acceptable or not, is utterly irrelevant - look up article 166 & 167 of the Air Navigation Order.
I am impressed by the quality of the video - do you have some sort of gimbal on or do you just spend a good amount of time removing vibrations from the motors and propeller assembly?
You sir are awesome, BTW your sander style mono rx antenna, what kind of range are we look at with normal tx antenna and can i use this on dragonlink uhf
Ahh, the Great British police coming in with their normal heavy handed approach right at the end there! I was thinking as I watching the video, I wonder if they had to get a special license to film around the houses of parliament. I guess the officers dibble answered my question ;-)
Yes, I get it. but the underlying issue is privacy and not safety. No matter how safe we fly, safety issues can be coughed up. Legislation for privacy can be limited to airborne filming through unmanned systems and then easily ban FPV.
Hey friend, nice smooth picture with the quad I can tell the difference with the modded escs. I still miss the scenes where you're cruising with your wing. You should take both to your next video and see what kind of video you come up with.
this is amazing! i a little concerned of the props being so close to people's faces. Was there any kind of protection around the props? What if it goes out of control and straight into someone?
3:45 : The bobbies discover FPV...with TBS Discovery... LoL :-) Did you get jailed in the London tower ? I don't like London so much, but you get wonderful images of the best parts (Tower bridge, Westminster abbey and Big Ben...(with the sound, you were "the right man, at the right place, at the right time !). Great job !!! (music : no comment) I'm still amazed about how smooth it flies...
You guys have outdone yourself this time ! Just FANTASTIC !! What quad is this ? All Gopro filmed ? What editing software ? Thank you for your help and time
Awesome work, i really love how you show so many different places from a new perspective :) Just curious, did you get a permit for this or the same way as always?
Damn right it was an incident. At least 5 leaves were harmed during the making of that movie :) Playing it safe and landing on a tree out of harms way is what we opted for. Could have tried landing on open grass field (filled with people) or on a road (filled with cars). Our equipment is replaceable. That's why we landed in the tree.
How do Ya'll get such steady video? I have a zyphr and every video I've made have little jerks in the video? Is your zypher better built, are you better pilots, or is there a program that helps take out the jerks? Thanks
well, if you want to do it completely legally, at least get the laws right. It's 10mW on 2.4GHz :) the buddy box requirement was relaxed about a year ago, too.
My biggest congratulations to these videos ... you're just too young! do I know what kind of model is this drone? you are very good compliments from italy
You guys were ahead of your time.
Loved the shots of Parliament and the Elizabeth Tower with Big Ben.

Before everything was illegal lol

Wow!! This is brilliant! What incredible footage!! Thank you for sharing.
Love the bemused police officers at the end!!! Did they confiscate it?

mark thorley You can still be fined by the CAA of breaking the "rules".
Why do I keep doing this to myself, who in here needs to fall asleep as well but can't stop watching? 😂
Awesome film guys!!! Truly great to see the city's beautiful buildings in such a close up and unique way. Fpv forever
This is my favorite vid of all time hands down
London England is an Amazing City and this footage gives a fantastic perspective of London's landmarks. Great Video.
By far the best "view of London" video i ever seen... big thumbs up :)
Awesome video, thank for sharing guys!
Did you get a fee at 4.00?
What did they ask you? Are there problems if you record with quadcopters?
Two words to describe what I just saw: insanely fantastic!
Great footage and editing.
This is just awesome. Wish you all the best Team BlackSheep :)
Really lovely. London looks great from the air. Keep up the good work
Best cup of tea ever! That was a Royal Flight!!! Thumbs up!
we have the same laws around Europe. the trick is getting creative and working with the laws. you can still have plenty of fun that way.
That is absolutely amazing!
truly amazing footage, nice job tbs 👌
no need if you launch and land from public land (such as sidewalks or roads). we got sent out of tower castle because it was royal ground. they said we could fly from the sidewalk :)
What are your GoPro settings? Frame rate and quality if you don't mind? Another awesome video by the way.
I just checked ... the BNUC-S is a 2 day course. hilarious :) it takes me longer to prepare my R/C aircraft for such a flight ....
i have lived in England my whole life and this is the best view of London i have ever seen! keep doing more videos
Love it, and Koan Sound too...perfect.

I like how 2 of the cops are talking to trappy and the one with the quad is just examining it like its the coolest thing in the world. Great video
exactly what time frame are we looking at here? since people have been flying in cities for over 8 years, I'd expect FPV to be banned rather soon :)
Flawless editing.
if only it was possible to pull this off now :(
Truly awesome :)
I wondered how long it would be before PC plod turned up =) I do hope you got all the gear back =)
Fantastically Put Together Video.......... Id like to join this team!

Great videos. Trappy does your electric motors burn out from time to time on your TBS Zepher? How long do they last you normally?

i wouldnt dare to fly my drone near big ben or people in 2017. but would it stop me?...naa
You guys are beast! Love the last part of your vid made my week
Awesome vid. Noobing around with my home made quad en what you guys are doing is my ultimate goal. Really sweet!

Lol, that was terrific!
Here comes the fuzz! They want TBS Discos now!!!
It is not possible to do this near the parliament building now.
John C Gibson its not possible what so ever london is a no fly zone
FANTASTIC... CONGRATULATIONS... One of the best i have ever seen... what software did you use to edit the filme? thanks
Very nice. Amazing precision and control of the TBS Discovery. Are you guys using GoPro Hero3 Black Edition?
does everything in this film was filmed with GoPro? ...quite good quality...
sweet film guys! nice work! well shot and great piloting. i assume fpv was used to get these shots?
" 6 years now and never hurt anybody".
REALLY is the proof. Please carry on with your awsome vids.

Wow! Cool video. How far will that thing fly?

Awesome! Best way yo know London
YESSS! I was waiting for you to come here.
was this the AR Drone's own camera, or did you attach a GoPro or something to it?
vocês tem de vir para o Brasil !
Really amazing! How in the world did you get away with it? I can't believe you all weren't stopped, but I am glad you were not.
Cheers
Central London is tightly regulated airspace. I can imagine that there are similar restrictions in the centre of Paris as there are in London.
Awesome work, i really love how you show so many different places from a new perspective :)
Just curious, did you get a permit for this or the same way as always?
Gentleman at 1:07 :) The guy at 1:18 !!!
With which props do I get longer flight time? 9x5 or 10x5?
advertising? you mean the logos? it's a list of equipment that was used ... neither the logos nor the venues are related.
Che, trappy.
You filmed with GOPRO 3? ....
Had been with 2, in which resolution to the horizons are not curved?
Great video guys! Keep them coming!
would be nice for a raw upload of this id love to see the full journey!
Risky. But what a great way to start the day, coming in to see this video !

They have warning systems for their datalink for height etc. I don't get your point why its soooo "risky".
but what did happen after police get the quad ? in uk they are so strict about it ! however i liked your reply
Awesome!!! Great job!
My biggest congratulations to these videos ... you're just too young! do I know what kind of model is this drone?
you are very good compliments from italy
Awesome captures!!!
so what happened? did you get it back? i'm guessing you got the go pro back or we wouldn't be watching this, but what about the quad
Were is The Brewery part in London, the part with the cobble stones? Is is the Barbican?
So this is the video that caused all the fuss! Great work TBS!
What remote controlled vehicle do you use for this?
did you have permission to write this post? :)
