I grew up in McK...class of 72. Funny...I was So unhappy there! I hated it! But videos like this make me realize it was partly me I hated...it Was a great place...made me who I am. Heartbreaking ....
My Grandmother used to tell me we are going shopping downtown...she didn't mean Pittsburgh she meant Mckeesport. We would catch the bus on Fawcett Ave. and ride into a bustling city. I'm 67 now and those memories of that city still enthrall me.
As soon as I started playing McKeesport, I began crying. I loved McKeesport. I was born in 1945. We had it good. The only thing I cared about was lifting weights, and trying to find a girlfriend. I was very good at the weights. Finding girls, not so much. Now, when I ride through McKeesport, my heart breaks. We thought it would last forever, It should have. Alas, our very own government gave it away. Everything our government is involved in gets ruined. For you guys and gals my age, all I can say is gut your guns and have plenty of ammo. The worst is yet to come. 😊
McKeesport was a city. It had a vibrant city center. It had it's own Department Store. US Steel had a plant there. It had it's own hospital. Now McKeesport is a shell of it's former self.
Poor mill hunk thinks Baldamo bags are Samsonite luggage!! ( Joke from my childhood!) I remember the ,mill hunks ...with their Balsamo bags going to work... ...
Jesus was supposed to come back in his time. Fabian Jesus. Power in Rome created mythology myths about jesus. Fact of history of Roman power in the day. Fabian roman jewist religion law allowed them to worship without punishment.
We die with our memories and my memories of McKeesport in the 1960s will comfort me for eternity. I truly loved that city.

Very true. I grew up in the 60s and it was the best time of my life. The memories that I still have at age 68 will remain with me forever.

i am also 67. Born and raised in McKeesport. Graduated from McKeesport High School.

Was a MUCH better place then, there used to be a 3rd bridge which connected to the now demolished 1st ward
