I've been going to Artis since I've been born, and that's 19 years of animals and changing habitats. I'm so glad that they're trying to give all the animals more room! I'm blessed to have encountered Victor the polar bear and Tanja the hippopotamus. I wish a lot more people can enjoy this zoo! And I wish I was at good at building as you are so I could make Artis in Planet Zoo.
@@DeLadysigner Yeah! they looked like they were thriving, I visited this week! I'm in awe from the zoo. Great video and I just wanted to say that the Forest and Bird houses that are to the left when you enter were quite fun, but it was also very warm and quite stinky so you can't stay in for too long! Just so you dont regret not going :) its a lot of walking for sure, we spent a whole day wondering!
This is such an inspiring city zoo 😍😍. I live in Europe and I have been to a lot of zoos unfortunately none of them were a city zoo. So it was very inspiring for my city zoo I am building in Planet zoo, because the only zoo is can use for inspiration is my hometown zoo Tiergarten Schönbrunn. So thank you so so much❤.
Perfect video, amazing zoo, beautiful enclosures and I look forward to more similar videos. In the African savanna, there were grater cudu and watusi with giraffes and zebras.
Even though it was SO hot and moist in the butterfly pavilion, I still think it was my favourite. We walked into it kind of by accident straight after the tropical greenhouse (bats) and were just swarmed (in a good way) by all these big blue butterflies and the beatiful sound of many-many tiny frogs rubbiting. The frogs were literally nail-sized but were so loud! The folliage was so lush it impressed me even more than in the buttefly greenhouse in the Botanical garden... Thank you for the video! I wasn't filming much myself but now that I am inspired to build, your video is very helpful!!! 💙 hi from Sweden 💙
I adore Artis, it's the zoo where I grew up! My mom used to take me there every week as a kid. Now that I'm an elementary school teacher in Amsterdam, I go there atleast once a year with my class. It's such a beautiful, old zoo and I hope time will bring them good fortune with their expansion plans 😊 One question, did they open the aquarium yet? It used to be my favourite place and was so dissapointed to see it was closed last time I was there.
I have to say that throughout the years, zoo's really upped their game. especially with the greenery. heck even those that have reptiles and amphibians at home start using more bioactive enclosures
As someone who will never see this zoo in person this is the second best option. 23:49 I'm pretty sure that's a Ankole cow, a domestic breed of American cow. Favorite part, the butterfly house, it's just so lush that it almost looks like a real jungle.
I'm glad you liked it Kane ❤️ That could indeed be that Ankole Cow!! Thank you!! ❤️ If only it wasn't so extremely warm in the butterfly house I definitely would have stayed longer, haha! But I really couldn't handle the heat, lol!
@@jeroendevries6582 I never heard it called by any other name, but apparently (according to Wikipedia) the breed Ankole has 5 sub strains Bahima, Bashi, Kigezi, Ruzizi, and Watusi. So i got the breed correct, just not the specific sub strain.
