0:47 ... The groove or better still the Solo and chord vocabs are similar to the chords played by Aaron Lindsey and the band in REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS... By Isreal Houghton in ANOTHER LEVEL ALBUM. The band played something similar. For Lee to for fit in those expressions in this particular jazz groove, simply beautiful and intelligent.
2:03 I love how Justin does the Got A Match quote (with some awesome alterations of the original melody), and Shaun comes back right afterwards and quotes Spain with a similar alteration. Two legendary musicians showing their love of Chick Corea, another legend. Absolutely incredible
I just discovered you a few minutes ago, your guest appearance in Jonah Nilsson's Bad - immediately I knew we have another genius prodigy!! Not everyone is a genius or as talented as you, but anyone can achieve good & great things, & I want to encourage for everyone - especially among the youth - the hard work & integrity that great artists exemplify in their work. You're a fantastic role model, Justin!! 🙏💖 🎹🎶🔥🔥🔥
Amazing ! This brings me to a reflection on the so-called "cultural appropriation": 1) In music, we do not appropriate anything, we learn to reach such a level. It is not enough to listen to jazz, pick up a piano and do it "as" to suddenly be very good at it. You have to practice relentlessly and work on your instrument. Steal takes no effort. Work requires abnegation. 2) If a musician measures the quality of his music by the money he earns, that is a product. If a musician puts his art and the joy that it gives him above the millions he can earn, he is an artist. And to think of cultural appropriation as a loss of financial income for a determined community, is to think of each musicians as products. Music as art is above all a question of meeting, sharing and respect for the work accomplished.
By far the most underrated video on the channel ^^
Rest in peace... Shaun 💔💔💔
THE POLYTONALITY IN 0:46 WTF MY MIND JUSTIN DSGFIODSFODSF 🎶💖✨

Wow this is really incredible, this is what I called scale walks.
👏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻💯
I live in Las Vegas, where was this filmed? Hopefully at a club downtown rather than in a casino, but I’ll go any place that hosts this kind of music.
My house :)
Cool 😎

Very few players can get me to pull a stanky jazz face when they play. You’re definitely one of them 🥴

2:03 chick corea quotes
What song were they jamming?
☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
Is the melody at the end of the video from an existing song or just improvised?
