excellent job, and nice looking Kit, I just wonder why the Disk brake could not be left in the Center where the original wheel sat and make a bracket for it them make a duel disk system. something I be interested in the kit for our family member then buying a $150.00 amazon tricycle
Hey the kit works with axles , so we need to have 2 disc brakes systems , also we use the disc brake support from hubs which is more easy an cheap www.tricyleconversionkit.com
Nice kit, will this work on my mid drive 7 speed e-bike with 26" wheels? I have hydraulic brakes, can I get a splitter and put them on the back wheels? Also would you know how to apply the speed sensor to the rear? I am ready to order if I can be sure of these questions. Thank you
Are the disc break calipers same dimensions as typical ones? I was thinking about swapping it to hydraulic and making my own t-junction to use one lever on the rear with the other being the front.
Sorry to say the one thing about tricycles is the axle and how the cluster of gears mount to the axle when it's in low gear especially 7 speeds they always strip I haven't come across one that I can't strip right in the bike even with a Chuck key I've gone through at least 7 7 speed tricycles and that's the biggest problem is tightening the gears to the axle either by a screw that tightens up or Chuck key
What part is stripping? I just installed a BBSHD to a 7-speed trike, and it seems to be taking all the power with no issue but I'd like to keep an eye on the part you're referring to.
@@JustEnjoyingLife73 the part that slides onto the axle is tied by either a boat and a pin mine doesn't have a pin the boat at times down wears down and when you go into the small gear I guess from the torque of pedaling so in other words the free will adapter that hooks to the gears that mounts the gears to the axle eventually spins freely because it has no way of staying tightened I hope I'm explaining this right
@@Oxfire95965 What do you mean by "boat?" So the part that the freewheel is mounted to spins freely? Isn't there a setscrew that keeps it from spinning on the shaft?
Hola Marcelo. I'm wondering how you showed both wheels turning with you spun the gears but with one wheel on the bench you were able to only spin the one? Thanks
I was thinking about putting this on a full suspension bike, but would it put to much twisting or sideways strain on the rear triangle hen one side gets compressed..? Fee like they aren’t designed to take that much lateral force..
@@spidennisnice! How’s the geometry feel? What front tire do you run? Sorry for all the questions. I have an older surly ecr, 2016, I’m thinking about converting to a trike with this. It looks like there isn't very much preventing the rear attachment from rotating under heavy low-gear pedaling or heavy braking. Just that flimsy rod that's already bent. It seems like it really needs some OTHER way to stay rigid?

Hi thanks for interest , right now we have a prototipe running a HG cassete but we dont have planns to launch soon , you can find the freewheel product at www.tricycleconversionkit.com
@@dreambiketriciclos Every time I see "Shimano" I cringe. I'm 56, have owned many bicycles over the decades, and I've never had a single decent "standard Shimano" gearset. They all quickly (3 months if lucky) start skipping on the plastic derailleur cogs, or the chain is click, click, clicking on the cogs like it does when the chain is about to skip up or down a gear - only you're not trying to! So you twist the shifter a teeny bit more up or down to try and get the chain to sit right, but no, up a gear it goes (which you didn't want - you wanted the gear it was already on) and immediately is clicking again! Or you go down slightly instead and the chain flops down a gear, and is clicking again. Due to this put any strength down on the pedal and the chain slips off sending the pedals flying backwards into the front of your lower leg WHACK! Though my 1980s 10 speed and mountain bike had crap gears, at least they got thumb shifters right! Since then nearly every bike that doesn't require a bank loan has shifters that are absolute shit - they can't be adjusted over the full range of gears missing either the top or bottom few cogs, the plastic breaks while turning them, the rubber is nasty junk that makes your hands feel like they're covered in chewing gum. My current "bike" (it vaguely resembles one anyway) I had to pay the local bike shop to setup out of desperation because I couldn't do a damn thing right with it and even he gave up and said don't bring it back. Most of the above is wrong with it, plus when you pedal there's a "cruuuunnnch, cruuunnnch, cruuunnnch" at the same point in every circle. Oh and 5 minutes after leaving the bike shop I found I had the first few easiest gears but was missing 3 or so at the other end. The shifter doesn't start changing gears until you're 30 or 40% through it's range of rotation, and so by the time reach the full 360 degrees it physically can't turn any further - so the rest of the gears are beyond its reach. And the list goes on. So why retailers advertise "Shimano" as if they're reliable, or quality, is beyond me. Not a single one! The best bike I ever had was what we called a "dragster" in Australia. It was a cheap 1970s thing with chopper style handle bars like a Harley, a top bar that could be removed to make it a girls bike, 3 speeds with a shifter bolted to that top bar (not on the handlebars) like a the stick shift in a manual car - right in front of your balls (ask me how I know), a "sissy bar" at the back, bolted to looonnng seat, and if you lifted the shifter cable up to make it go loose and shoved a rock under it, your "first gear" became even easier to pedal. Other kids laughed at that bike but I rode that thing through water, DOWN SAND DUNES with the axles under the sand, then flushed the grinding sand out with a garden hose and off I rode again. Should have kept that rather than all the CRAP bikes I've been lumbered with (unless you spend THOU$ANDS - I assume - or are ALL Shimano gearsets crap!?) since the 1980s. SO FK SHIMANO!!! (Assholes!) Or I should say the Australian - arseholes! Those basic gearsets should have gone straight from the Shimano factory back door into the smelting plant next door to be made into metal toilet bowls in parks. The money I've spent on bike after bike over the years and never experienced a decent one - nearly all their problems due to Shimano - ugh... evil fkers!
This is awesome, but shipping overseas makes it not feasible economically here in EU because with shipping it's comparable in price to a whole new tricycle.
