But it didn’t feel right to him-that’s his friend and he felt some type of way about spitting what he don’t mean. That takes more courage to say to all your fans and haters than any diss track.
I have so much respect for J. Cole.
I think he is staying true to his values bc he has ALWAYS said “they act like two legends cannot co-exist.”
We need to make room for each other to expand, grow, and evolve in Hip Hop so that the genre as a whole can model and give a complete picture of the phases of life.
Hip Hop does not have to be so contentious to attract respect, fame, accolades, and support of fans. The three of them have different styles and each are necessary to the culture.
In any other circumstance I would agree with you wholeheartedly, but if he was staying true to his values he would've never dropped the diss to begin with. He's been saying he's ready to battle whoever for years and as soon as the moment came he threw a rock and hid his hand. I can't respect that.

Yeah, but it's not just about rapping. Beefs always escalate, and I wouldn't expect violence, but dudes end up getting extra disrespectful. It's perfectly normal not to feel comfortable getting into that with a friend. K dot dropped a bomb where only a nice 10% was directed at j. It's not exactly great motivation to go to war with a guy. Ain't no way he apologies. He can literally end the beef in a polite or extreme way, but not by apologizing. He can battle Kendrick at the same time humbling him. Smhh
Its hard for a cole fan out there
Man...this is just...no words. Since he used Jay-Z takeover song as a template, he should understand the situation as well. Jay-Z did takeover, Nas did either. They are now cool, even friends, did multiple songs, are pictured together all the time, but I didn't see any of them saying sorry for the songs. Jay did say sorry for the next song, but that was because he went waaay too hard at Nas' family and kids. Cole never did that.

such an interesting perspective. Imagine J Cole and KDot actually ending up with never making a collaboration because he didn't prove he was a problem.
@@daericklaird740 i think Drake is all about this mess cz kenny went on drake mostly for cole was just a warning to not ride with that nigga then Drake pressured cole that kenny took shoots on both of them they were to realise the same time drake back off now cole had to realise he was alone in this trap and the diss wasnt directed to him as much as pple may hate i think Drake fucked up cole period
Bro at the end of part 4 Kendrick said they got till April the 7th to get their shit together. Cole apologized on April 7th, 7 years later. Crazy right. 7 min drill?
Great take on this topic
We also gotta note the hypocrisy in the air rn too.
Didn't Kendrick release a whole track not so long ago about the toxicity of "the culture"? So many people responded with "that's so real, we gotta do better. We gotta treat each other better".
Cole is embodying that message completely, saying he doesn't wanna taint his progress for the sake of culture and now he's "weak".
See, people say they want improvement in the world but don't really mean it because they thoroughly enjoy and get turned on by chaos.
That's true but I think Cole props himself up as the best so people want to see him in the ring. I do think him being peaceful is a good thing I just wish he would've thought about this BEFORE releasing the diss.
Kendrick says he's done with the culture and then disses people for the culture 😂

BE YOURSELF: don’t let others influence you into saying/doind things you don’t truly believe in. People so invested in rappers tearing each other down for their personal entertainment, now they hate Cole for confessing that’s not who he wants to be. Hip-Hop is about competition, everyone’s uses the “I’m the best/ don’t test me” bars and bravado, but hiphop is also supposed to be about AU-THEN-TI-CI-TY and Cole is easily more authentic than 90% of the industry. He had a lapse in judgement here. He literally used the word “relapse”, he ultimately decided being himself was more important to him than looking foolish so he bit the bullet and told the truth. Would he prefer he lied and pretended he’s so mad when he isn’t?
B e Y o u r s e l f .
Laufisker clears cole on every track
If being a pussy is him being authentic then he should just accept the bronze that was thrown at him at this point. As a matter of fact he doesn't deserve the bronze no more.
This would be okay if he never release that song I'm the first place. The manipulation already happened when they called his phone he said it on stage...
Facts!!! 🙌🏾
J Cole is not black he is half white.
I hate to say it but Kendrick predicted that Melle Mel apology shit

Kendrick has all these guys shook. I give Cole credit for atleast trying even though his diss was weak as hell. Drake is basically just forfeiting at this point.
Drake in the middle of Kendrick and Cole's beef was like that polar bear meme

Bruh Cole's maturity is being seen as weakness. That's the problem. People want him to lie on record to put Kendrick down. Cole always been my favourite rapper and he still is. Good for cole for being truthful to himself and his fans. As far as Diverse Mentality or any other channel showing this as weak are the true lame ones in this situation. Smh.
I agree and I prefer Kendrick...
No! I'm a Cole fan. But, Cole kept talking big throughout features - which is respectable. If he always kept all that dominance talk away, then, fine. But, he clearly wanted that. This is just double-speak. I like J. Cole. But, that's not it.
J Cole should've not released that diss. He had time remove it from being released. This just proves he's the biggest hip hop puss* to roam the earth.
Maturity would have been not responding.
The mature thing would have been not responding at all if that's not how he truly felt. Kendrick was going at Drake and Cole caught a few strays. He didn't have to respond but he chose to do so anyway. Good on him for acknowledging that his response was immature though. I suppose acknowledging immaturity can be viewed as a form of maturity.
They should just spar on a track then. Like Joyner and Tory did
Thats what its suppose to be lol ! Cole just scary asl😂😂 he tooo soft
I personally believe this could be a ploy to get Kendrick to release whatever he potentially has up his sleeve so just Cole can turn around and release his secret weapon(s). Cole did actually say he’ll hold his head up and take whatever Kendrick had on the chin so give it all he’s got. I personally feel don’t fall for it Kendrick. This is chess!
I understand what Cole is feeling and I'm 100% with it. People really wanna see blood and it's not cool.
I understand the friendly competition argument, but it's rather destructive. We should all see people build with love and collab, be united.
I don't know..but I feel that it became toxic energy.
I look at Cole and Big Sean as pacifiers and dudes that want to stay in their own lane.
Dot is the competitive one and at some point it reads as frustration.
I totally understand Dot for attacking Drake, because he is cocky and arrogant, also portraying something he isn't...the mob ties and all that shit.
On the other hand, I wish Dot and Cole remain friends, because at the end of the day, we all wished they had collabbed more. I myself wanted TDE and Dreamville to work together.
People need to see more of this in general. More peace and less fighting..especially for the culture.
There's so many kids that grew up without a father..and the fact that most of them are rappers is not a coincidence.
BIG SEAN NOW IS YOUR CHANCE!!!!!!
Big Sean needs to take a shot at Cole 😂😂😂
