Thanks, for taking the time to watch the video, Ken! Yes, we were thrilled when it came back a PSA 1. I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to receive a 1 😂
You automatically gained me as a subscriber (after recently following me on IG) for just correctly calling it a 1949 Leaf ! 😍 Congratulations on the Paige. Bravo
Haha thank you! It would be nice if PSA would also acknowledge it - At minimum it should say “1948-49”. I appreciate the sub and taking the time to watch and comment 👍🏻
@@Collector.Not.Hoarder so far I’ve only found one Leaf card graded w/ a “1949” label. An older slabbed Jackie Robinson. Might still be on eBay and see it often at the Philly Show.
Thank you, sir! It’s been graded and came back a PSA 1 - couldn’t have been more thrilled. I have since flown the card back to my dad, so it’s no longer in my possession, but the PSA images of the card are the thumbnail for the video. Thanks again!
Woah!!!! Hello My Satchel Paige collecting friend. That is a tough tough card! Huge congratulations! Would love to someday have one of those, but I have not yet found cards like this to be realistic for me, so I don't consider if it too much. Amazing story you have on this card. How awesome is it that your grandfather had this card. Amazing stuff. However it comes back - as long as it's the real deal - and like you, I am confident it is.
Thanks for stopping by to watch the video, Doug. It’s a little rough since it was my first one. The card has since been graded and came back a PSA 1 - the thumbnail to this video is the actual card after grading. I flew the card back to my Dad after it came back from PSA, so it’s no longer in my possession or else I would’ve done a follow-up video. Thanks for the sub and for commenting!
Awesome - thanks Mookie! I just subbed you back. I was so thrilled to get to hold this! It’s been graded and flown back to my Dad, but it was fun while I had it. Wish I would’ve done a video after grading, but at least I have the PSA pictures as the thumbnail. Thanks again for the sub and comment! The cards I share going forward will all be downhill from here haha
Hot straight out of the gate - It’s all downhill from here haha. That card is now back with my dad since it’s been graded, but it was amazing being able to have it in my hands. That’s a card that most collectors will never get to see in person, let alone hold a raw copy in their hands. Glad you enjoyed! I’ll try to start posting again in the near future.
Fantastic card and story, illustrates the true essence of the hobby. Obviously, that was your grandfather’s card. Why did you get it in the mail like that- who sent it? I’d love to see that in the slabbed one that you mentioned/ will you or have you shared that yet? Good collecting 👍❤️
Hahahaha I’ve been waiting for someone to ask me that! I’m not even exaggerating when I say this, but it was shipped standard mail with $100 of insurance 😮. As I mentioned in the video, my Dad now has my Grandfather’s cards, but he isn’t a collector at all. He’s a baseball fan, but doesn’t know much about the card side, so he figured this was good enough lol. When I shipped to PSA, it went registered mail with the proper amount of insurance. Once I received it back from PSA, I flew it back to my Dad. We live several states apart, so I didn’t want to take any chances with the mail again. Needless to say, it’s not with me anymore, but I did just update the thumbnail of the video with the PSA images. I really appreciate you watching my videos and commenting! Thank you!
Thanks for the sub! Much appreciated. The card has since been graded and came back a PSA 1 - we were definitely thrilled. I have some things off being graded right now, so I’m hoping to do another video in the coming weeks. Thanks again!
Thank you - as I’ve commented before, it’s all downhill from here 😂. Yes, it was sent in and it came back a PSA 1. It was a massive upcharge to grade, but well worth it. I plan to start doing videos again this year. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Eric - I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. As I get more comfortable making these, I plan to start sharing more stories and tidbits of knowledge that I’ve gathered along the way. Thanks again!
This video was shot several months ago and I had previously posted it, but it was somehow removed, so I reposted. The card has since been graded and received a PSA 1. Appreciate anyone who watches and comments. My intention is to create future videos of my collection. Hope you enjoyed this one!
Congrats, that is such a beautiful grail card!!!
Thank you, sir! We were definitely shocked when we found it, and couldn’t be more pleased with a PSA 1. Thanks again!
Awesome. It looks like a genuine beauty from here. I saw the results as I read some other comments. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.
