Subscribed! I thought these came out great and I've seen guys make cove cuts on a table saw but never on a circle before - that was super cool!

I saw your post on Facebook...love the stools. Putting my vote in for making templates available. These would be fun to try, but would have to figure out how to do the bending.

Awesome! I’m thinking 1/4 or 1/2 MDF would be ideal for the templates. If you don’t have a vacuum press…you could make the forms and drill multiple holes in the sides for clamps. But then you’d need an enormous amount of clamps.

@@TheWoodenHobbyist I have always used 1/4". It is plenty thick and it would reduce material and shipping costs for everyone involved.

is the vacuum press necessary here? I think that's a brilliant idea to build the backrest from multiple sheets of material to get that shape. Allows you to have an accent strip which is really nice.

Necessary? Nah. But it was my most effective way without wasting material on a bending form. And I agree, I initially wanted it to be all walnut but the little bit of maple accents really nice, like an Oreo cookie 😂

@@TheWoodenHobbyist yeah and if you wanted a different oreo flavor you could do mahogany strip (cinnamon bun filling) or wenge (double chocolate) lol

The stools look dumb, but the wood looks nice. 😂
