I asked my wife about this piece she used to play and it was a major hunt I was on to find it!
She thought Chopin and I went about listening and not finding.
She recognized it mind you and could hum it back to me frankly as if it were her next of kin with no name.
At last I remember when we were first together, this old best of Brahms book she would bring out to play. I don't even think she even mentioned his name!
And I took it for granted! A background to our lives.
I am grateful for the hunt paid dividends and now you confirm my worry, had I been unsuccessful, the most beautiful of all in all of history might have slipped through my fingers forever.
Brahms loves us yet he had no idea how far.

try a few measures at a time separately and go very slowly, repeat a lot, try to memorize as much as possible, make sure you apply the suggested fingering (unless you know very well how to select it), listen a fair bit to good model play such as this one so that you feel well what is needed, and using a metronome for separate hands than hands together will likely help you. This is what I have been doing now, except for the listening of model play.

It is lovely done, congratulations, interestingly enough the version of the sheet music I have is simpler for the last 4-5 bars of the right hand (it does not arpeggiate to high notes on the ledger as we see here), but both versions are very nice.
