At the airport, Charlie Wilson has told the interviewer in 2016 that The Gap Band is like three brothers after the interviewer told him that few of the old band members claiming that Charlie wouldn't let them use the name in a civil lawsuit and Charlie and his brother Ronnie Wilson are feuding over The Gap Band name and then Charlie answered the interviewer's question by saying he had one brother that passed away and another brother that's supposed to be a preacher and Charlie said he is doing his thing and where is The Gap Band and the interview is done.
Sadly Ronnie Wilson passed away at the age of 73 on November 2,2021. Charlie is the only surviving member/brother. Along with fame, your personal issues become public so a family 'non-agreement'....makes headlines. The same can be said for the Hart Brothers, from The Delfonics; they are estranged from one another and one of them has been touring and (I believe) using the name The New Delfonics or something to that effect....it happens...not judgin' but some things are irreplaceable, like love and family members and good friends. Prayers up for all....blessings .
