They are always found waiting at the bus stops in ADVENT city centres. Like the one that Odd had half his squad waiting on the top of in that one mission...
@@omerkursadnarinoglu3818 The "one-sided shield" seems to be one of the Tweaks Odd's team has done to make the Warlock harder, since that's how his Spectral Army has worked all this campaign and the previous, failed one.
@@Myomer104 The immunity shield was something in Season 8 as well via the "Don't make a sound mod", the mod was simply updated to give visualization on the shield being used since people were being confused about the immunity. I'm sorry but don't mess with numbers anymore. What the hell is that action economy of warlock he literally moved and made 3 summons. While it's nice to watch you struggle against aliens it's not fun to watch you torture yourself.
We didn't even tweak the action numbers with this latest thing, it's just upping the damage on the Chosen's pathetically weak weapon damage. They already had this amount of action economy and the Warlock's was even nerfed slightly.
Yeah but we also saw the warlock die in one turn to his A team last episode with lots of grenades, and this wouldn’t have gone half as bad if he hadn’t grouped up against the mass mindscorch. Which made tones of shots miss and wasted lots of actions
@@Pruhbruh_ true but if numbers keep going up the chosen chambers will be impossible two pods of reinforcements and chosen plus the chosen thingy (which have 30 hp without mods) would be a nightmare and chosen call reinforcements whenever he is defeated and unless he take 2 cyclic fire at it it will regenerate chosen more than once. There is some entertainment to be had by watching the commander struggle but the idea is to OVERCOME obstacles not keep making them bigger. Stop beefing the enemies !
I’ve got to say Odd I love what your doing the season is awesome but two things. 1. You gotta have more healing the enemy is just brutal fighters now even when you’re dominating one hit really hurts and slows the team. 2. Please don’t increase the numbers of enemies I think it’s right for the buffs the enemies have this season plus you are getting into the analysis paralysis lately and that’s when you’ve so much to watch already. Keep up the good work though it’s a wild ride!
Maybe I'm just not understanding the financial and personnel situation correctly, but at this point I feel like its an absolute MUST to have either Mind Shields or some kind of cleansing Gremlin or Smoke on any mission with even a CHANCE of the Warlock showing up. The AoE Daze from Mind Scorch and Mind Control is just too much with all his summons to kill.
The Warlock has an ability called "Overwhelm Mind Shield," letting him Soulfire soldiers with Mind Shields for unavoidable damage. Odd felt he could keep up with the debuffs more than the damage, and he could for a time. That time has passed.
It's always the one one wants it to be the least! But that's just part of the awesomeness of the game. Getting back up and making hard situations worse, only to keep moving foward somehow until what seems like a miracle occurs. Just kddding, I feel like you respond quite well in the crazy situations and somehow it really looks like you have more fun in them. Hope that's the case indeed. Many thanks for this amazing series, almost 100 now (and get better soon)!!! 😁
Instead saving dazed group all, you could have left Wraith(which has already full cover) dazed and only move the flanked ones. Jotun’s move for freezing cost her life unfortunately
Chris that was an extremly strange episode!!!! why in the hell you didnt kill the Chosen before? you got about 3 or 4 tunrs to do that and keep letting him live! for sure the oddest episode up to now :)
As long as any of the summoned Spectral Army is in play, the Warlock is invulnerable. Not a big deal if you can wipe them out with overwatches, but otherwise that's almost always three activations on your turn gone assuming you even have a way to kill them.
I wonder if Cookie had made her shot when mind-controlled and another fatality occurred (57% shot if I recall correctly) whether that would have triggered the Commander to call an evac - fortunately we'll never know...
Man im loving watching these episodes again. Its been too long since ive seen you play Xcom, especially since I started watching back with enemy within. I might have to make a character for the new season if im able.
YES!!! I was shouting at the scream to target the warlock. The floaters were NOT the primary threat. Really poor decision IMO. But he did a great job keeping the rest of the team alive and it was fun to watch, so great content overall!
@@Wolfeson28 Either way, killing the Chosen sooner should have been the priority. His ability to summon reinforcements can really compound a problem. Glad it worked out as well as it did in the end, but I think he could have saved some pain by killing the warlock sooner.
Might be remembering wrong here, but I think the "Fallen Heroes" covert ops missions, is a way to get your items back from fallen soldiers. Maybe worth checking out, if it is a way to get the domination gem back.
@@evilbob840 It's not. He gave Maelstrom both the Domination and Compulsion gems on the mission where she died. He brought her corpse back, but for some reason the gems, and her Celestial Gauntlets, are missing. No idea why.

Have only watched the first 18 minutes up to this point and I think the name of this episode should be: Just do it! All the wasted turns trying to get the best opening ultimately lead to the squad being in a bad spot for the follow-ups.

After she'd picked it up she went up to the hanger to get ready with the rest of the squad she'd be going out with. Her eyes first saw Cybernetic, the body in his armour, which he rarely took off, all rigid and still. Was he calm or was he angry? She shook her head, never mind him. I honestly think there should be a cool down once you put a chosen down. I mean you fill them with bullets and they show up next mission? I think it's bs. Like a week base down to 5 days maybe when they fully upgrade? I don't know just saying I didn't like Jotun build I think a templar it's more value. What's with the halo though?
Well, I'd say you definitely need to load up specifically for the Warlock for the next few missions in his territory - he's now responsible for both of your last two casualties.
I wonder whether it would have been a better move to shoot the Warlock from high ground instead of waking the dazed soldiers, but hard to tell without knowing how good that shot would have been, especially with the Warlock in high cover regardless... I have an idea. Let's turn up the difficulty till we squad wipe every mission.
I am of the opinion that the Warlock being able to conjure an army that large in a single turn is fucking bullshit.
Scratch that. The Warlock overall is fucking bullshit. He needs to be the first Chosen you kill permanently.
Yeah it feels like every time folks go tweak the chosen the warlock gets cracked out, lol. Poor hunter is barely noticeable.
They probably forget adding action cost to those skills and also after the spectral army he should be in stasis not this one sided shield.

This was a fixed evac mission, so there was no way to leave early except for just rushing to the evac "every soldier for themselves"-style.
