- A few people asked me about my settings. There's nothing special here and the magic to finding good targets comes with learning your detector and.......digging a lot of targets.
Great vid gratz on the treasure. glad you caught the setting change. heard the E trac cherry pick patterns work great on the manticore👍👍👍
4:25 he starts talking about setting.
This guy can talk!
i know u mentioned trying to dig more “iffy”s”, i have a legend and i know its no manticore or deus 2 but in the last 3 weeks i produced 5 mercs n 2 barbers and everyone of them were “iffy” scratchy n jumpy. so id def say dig more iffy’s !
What area do you live in? 🙄 Sounds wonderful
TN, our ground sucks due to HEAVY clay, def dont get the same depth as states with dirt. only got thr barbers ause i was on a 1800s plantation estate that had the ground excavated.
Thanks for info dimes sound terrible on my manticore
Nothing like the Etrac with its sweet silver fluttery tone. If you watched my first Manticore vids, I complain about the tone. Not enough "Fidelity". Which in today's tech, tones should be better.
I went and spent a bunch of money on a manticore and it’s your fault. Sold my nox 900. I am hoping to pull some goodies from my hunted out spots.
I would have said keep the Nox as backup. I've mentioned it many times that my friend prefers his Nox 800 and that I wished I had bought the 800 so that I could have a sense of comparison.
The Etrac was better at telling me from the audio of I had silver, but then it also had the problem of iron audio. Biggest flaw in the Etrac.
The Manticore does pretty with default ferrous limits. But you might want to adjust the discrimination. I found for coin hunting, a wide ooen discrim was too noisy. I blocked it up to about 15 (which could lose you some gold targets, so discrimination is a personal preference choice), but I like it quieter.
Hopefully, in time, it grows on you as it has on me. And I'm VERY partial to the Etrac. So much that I never thought a detector would prove me it's better.
Minelab should be doing more updates......I won't cross my fingers. They did a few with the Nox, hope they don't forget about the Manti.
Biggest complaint now is still battery life, which I solved by adding an extra battery on the shaft. Good luck.
@@metaldetectingoregon could you give your setup. What are your upper and lower ferrous numbers. Do you use all tones?
What is the cylinder shaped object on the rod of your detector?
Extra battery. I get about 66% longer battery, which means more detecting time between hunts. Here's my video on this:

@@metaldetectingoregon Ty!
Get to the metal detecting you talk too much
He is teaching about the machine, don't watch if you don't like it!
Dude, you spend all that money on a detector, and you have it covered in mud. It's free to clean your stuff.
