I like the juxtaposition between samur and hell soundtracks. Hell always has heavy death metal to sell the violent feeling, but urdak characters have tracks that feel more like ambience that reminds you that you're doing something "wrong" and killing angels, not demons.
But the sense of it is false, just like the angels of Urdak. They're just as evil and corrupt as the demons only manipulating others for their own gain even samur. Which is why the doomslayer destroyed Urdak, killed the Khan Makyr, denied the Father a physical form, and almost killed Samur had it not been for the Fathers interference
@@juliancarreon5569 I mean Sam tried literally everything in his power to help Humanity. He’s misguided not evil. He firmly believes he is doing the right thing even if Doomguy disagrees, in his perspective reviving Davoth is a really dumb idea.
I still love the beginning of the track combined with the opening cutscene. Just you and this morally grey character who you’ve tolerated up until now. He’s been betrayed you before… but now you’ve betrayed him… and it’s time to finally settle the score

His physical body is undergoing rapid transfiguration for having survived this long and merging with his mind at last so by the end he's started losing it, that's why he opts for the more aggressive approach towards you. The Slayer also changes his mind in the swamps because of Hayden showing signs of power hunger and instability.

The detector of the game has confirmed that when a maykr transfiguration happens they don’t die they turn into a Cthulhu like monster
We don't see him for the rest of The Ancient Gods yes, but I feel he'll be brought back, probably in the next game.
