Today we leave the hustle and bustle of Bangkok Thailand and head the island of Koh Kret in Nonthaburi province. Now don't worry this island is not far away from the city, only 1 hour or so via car or motorbike. In fact island is created thanks to the Chao Phraya River not actually out to sea.
It's home to many things but by far the coolest for me was the craft beer and sunken temples, all will be revealed in the video!

Thought I'd drop a comment to let you know there are people who love the variety of your videos too. Bangkok is also a part of Thailand and it's cool to see a bit of everything from this wonderful country. Maybe a loud minority will have some beef with creators sometimes but most of us are probably just here for your awesome and unique style. I appreciate you a lot! I personally love the Bangkok series Paddy. You have barely scratched the surface of that amazing city. Every time my wife and I go we find TONS of new places, restaurants and things to do! Don't rush! We're happy to see what you find around Bangkok!

Ko Kret is a cultural oasis in a suburban area of Greater Bangkok. It is just across the river from the downtown area of the city of Pak Kret, a major Bangkok suburb and the second largest city in Nonthaburi Province. Downtown Pak Kret is served by several BMTA bus routes, such as Bus 166 from Victory Monument and Bus 52 from Bang Sue Junction Railway Station via Mo Chit and Chatuchak Park. In the near future, Pak Kret will be reachable by Pink Line monorail, which connects with BTS Green Line Skytrain and SRT Electric Red Line commuter train.
I’ve lived, worked in Bangkok and thought I knew it like the back of my hand. Your Bangkok series is showing me places I’ve never been. A lot of people don’t like Bangkok because they don’t know it well enough. As much as the islands and places like Chiang Mai are beautiful, the big mango has some wonderful places to visit as well. The series has been well presented and I’m enjoying it, keep up the great work.

I myself love to be able to see Bangkok through your eyes. I have been to Thailand on a few occasions but have never stayed more than one night in Bangkok. After this mini series I will make sure to have more time in Bangkok next time I go!

Koh Kret is a village of Mon people they migrated from southern part of Burma hundred yrs ago. Now Mon is one of the minorities in Mynmar.

The leaning chedi (stupa or pagoda) of Ko Kret is in Mon-style as Ko Kret is a major community of Mon people in Greater Bangkok. You can find many Mon cultural heritage sites on the island.

Personally I like your Bangkok series. Much like you I didn't pay Bangkok much attention on my travels and it's nice to see some of the hidden attractions.
First, thank you for this wonderful and for us, nostalgic video. I spent many years working not far from there at the international school Bangkok, and trips to that little market area and the island were frequent and wonderful little escapes. As for people not wanting videos around Bangkok, Bangkok is sort of inevitable! Getting to know some unique and fun things to do in the city is a real gift to your viewers. The last thing you wanna do is show up in Bangkok and be stuck with nothing but traditional tourist activities. I think your Bangkok videos are invaluable. Everybody wants to get out into the other provinces, and that’s wonderful too, but there’s great value in what you’re doing there in Bangkok as well. Thank you so much!

I was in Bangkok 2 years ago just before COVID hit. Koh Kret not the easiest place to get to but the wife and I chosen the most scenic route by taking the Chao Phraya ferry from Sathorn Pier all the way to the most northerly pier. However, it’s still a way to go from there. Opted to take a private long tail speedboat for the last leg to Koh Kret, think it was THB 400 one way and the guy hung around for us for the return journey too. Nice to know the new monorail will get there thought. We enjoyed cycling around the island.
You know there will always be critics no matter what content you produce.
Having never been to Thailand, I can honestly say that I appreciate the content and all the experiences you have there.

I agree also with the last comment. I use Bankok as just a stop off to go North. So it great to see variety and that there are things worth exploring in Bangkok. Its a good mix. So I really enjoy the way you have mixed it up.

Bangkok is apart of the Provinces. So even if some people don't like it, sure it's a city but it is apart of Thailand. I, for one, love the Bangkok series!
I am also looking forward to the rest of the provinces but you do also need to chill out and be able to relax and look after yourself as well, travelling will definitely take it's toll as you know it does!

Chit is the original Thai craft brewer and has always welcomed new starts to bring their brews by.
Here in our house we really like Bangkok, so for us this Bangkok series is great. Far more interesting than the Isan one (sorry, even though it was beautiful). And it's great to see you have spirit and sparkle in your eyes again 😃 So please continue the good work.
The fish at the beginning is a freshwater archer fish it feeds on flying insects and has a unique style of shooting them out the air from 300mm above the surface. We always fly from Bangkok and have a couple of nights in hotels there, maybe not to miss the plane and some shopping, and we like going to interesting places, some you have covered but most we had no idea of. So the list of places to visit is getting larger, and being in Bangkok at some point there can be no excuses in seeing something cool and take in some chit beer!

I don't about others, but i would rather see videos with people having a good time, and clearly it's Bangkok and South, like Phuket etc.. the North is still pretty grim..

Bangkok is an incredible city and the videos there are a nice contrast to the rest. I'd love to see you dive into more unique places (rooftop bars?) that Bangkok has to offer and perhaps team up with The Roaming Cook again. Signed a Canadian living vicariously through you.

This is one of the best choices that can help you escape from the town center especially on the weekend., if u have time in your hand and plan to go somewhere " somewhere island, crystal clear and beautiful blue sky " put Maya Bay in the list and " I prefer weekday 🤫☺ with a lot of sunscreens"

I was one of the people that wanted to see the travels because they were simply what I hadn't seen. In hindsight I'd say you were right, if you were doing in this in UK you wouldn't spend the same time and find variety in say Burnley, (No disrespect intended) as you would in London, Liverpool, Cardiff or Edinburgh and many other notable places.
As long as you're in Thailand you can film anywhere. Don't care if it's a road trip or a hole in the wall restaurant down an alley. You're in Thailand!!!! Love it all! I understand needing the break. I'm on a show working through the winter and I'm exhausted already. We still have 5 months to go. 🤪 I've been here, but did a boat trip called the 9 temple tour or seven, can't remember. Loved it. Next time, it's bicycle time. 🧘🏻❤☮

I'm glad you enjoyed Koh Kret. I had to laugh because you were right by the ferry when you first arrived. It costs 2 baht. Parking for Dreamy was just back a little, behind the barrier or on the main road by the motorbike taxis. You could even have got Dreamy across on that ferry with a bit of a struggle or help from some locals.
