  • Probably the most fun trick and most exciting wake surfing trick for a beginner to learn! Don't make it more difficult than it has to be!
In this video, I will teach you how to do the 180 Shuv it on a skim-style wakesurfing board. With these tips, you'll be stomping the landing and riding away clean with ease every time.
Step 1: Ride to the top of the wave. While it is possible to do a shuvit on the flats, it is much easier to let the wave help you and get that pop to rotate the board around
Step 2: FLICK! or scoop. whatever you want to call it. But let that back foot flick the board while the front foot does a slight kick forward. DON'T OVERDUE IT. It doesn't take much to let the board spin around.
Step 3: Stay over the board and bring your feet up. Watch that board complete the spin and let your feet find the board.
Step 4: LAND. Once you have landed on the board make sure to put weight on that back foot to avoid nose-diving.
During this whole process keep that lead shoulder pointing at the boat! Your shoulders should not rotate!
Thanks to MasterCraft for making the best boat ever and Rusty Wakesurfing boards on the market!
Let me know what you would like to see next!

Is it possible to skimboard and do all the stuff you do with a wooden one like even out in the ocean when you ride those waves and stuff?

Is it better to ride/try finless or with the half-inch fin we currently ride with? Phase5 Matrix Pro style board.

Trade-offs either way. If you are good to ollie and pop off the wave and land finless than go for it. If finless is a little to squirrely for landing jumps keep that fin on. .5-1" fin should not hold you back as long as you travel up the wave before initiating.

Start with a small fin to complete the 360s, once you’re able really keep that back rail engaged and get more control you can try removing the fin for more freedom
