Solo moonveil is fine but it’s the ganks that make it an abomination. Every invasion, it’s almost guaranteed to have a moonveil or blasphemous blade and it’s infuriating but still doable if you just tread carefully. Careful spacing and punishing their whiffs are mainly my go-to strategy with those gank teams.
I like how Chase shows how much better these "spammy" predicable ash of wars are when you aren't constantly button mashing L2 and acc thinking your attacks out before you do them
Yup. And what is really terrifying is that the attack is so fast it can heal punish consistently and rollcatch on reaction or very near that. The only saving grace is that Chase is not just a competent player, he is at the very top, so most people won't be able to replicate such levels of domination in a fight.
People like to act like if you aren't chase, Jee, or Steel, then you're trash tho lol. Same way people use no-hit runners as proof of boss balance or that other players just need to "git gud", acting like the average player could or should be able to replicate them perfectly.@@Feanor1988bis

I believe the comments section would forgive your moonveil usage if you were to use the Claymore once more! However, while using said Claymore, to show off the heavy attack changes of course, perhaps you could make use of a certain greatbow with lower dex requirements that scales well with str and has a fantastic ash of war?
Hey Chase, after this one a good idea might be the Meteoric Ore Blade. Since the heavy attack speed of katanas got buffed it's Gravitas into heavy roll catch might be a lot better now. And it was already pretty good imho. Two handed sword talisman and the heavy attack talisman (I forgot the name apologies) could offer some nice damage numbers.

We need chase to use the perfume bottles to prove how much they need a buff to Miyazaki. Also, I just want to see chase make a dumpster tier weapon appear viable.
Highly doubt it, he runs through all the unbalanced and silly things with each new patch and starts to look at regular setups after he's done with that Which leaves trash like the perfumes at the end lol
I don't play PvP very much but 2 things that are super underused are the backstep and flask animation cancel. Back stepping is super simple, but for some reason, next to nobody does it. So, when you get good at it, it can work really well as people just don't expect it as it's rarely used. They expect you to dodge an attack in a direction so they can chase you, but if you dodge their attack with a backstep (especially a jump attack), you can instantly counter if you do it right, plus, if your weapon has range, it's even better. As for a flask, you can't cancel the healing animation, but you can cancel it if it's empty. If you use your heals before you fight you can make them think you have heals, lure them in by 'healing', then counter. However, this does mean you have no heals left, but it depends how much you want to commit, as you can still do it after running out if heals the usual way. Mixing these two methods together is pretty effective, I did it a few times and it worked well. Back step out of an empty flask animation and then whale on them. They assume you're completely vulnerable to attacks when the animation starts, so they get really close and confident they can stunlock you. The backstep is specifically good for dodging jumping attacks, as they don't have that much range and it keep your opponent still for a short while after they do it. Also, some weapons have unique attacks you can literally only use right after a backstep, and some involve thrusting attacks. There's also my own really stupid strategy that I created on Bloodborne PvP that's very idiotic, but it really does work. I call it Duck Duck Goose. It's more something to do when you're bored as it's time consuming, but funny af whenever you do it right. It's all about creating a pattern to lead the enemy into a false sense of security. 1. Find a preferably open area where you can 'square off.' (also, this isn't very effective against range users or in arenas/small areas). 2. Don't use sprint (yet), just jog towards them, and hopefully, they'll do the same. You need them to associate you sprinting with you running away. 3. Get as close as possible when you run/jog up to them and dodge their attack by sprinting in the opposite direction at the last second. Keep running and turn it into a game of tag. 4. Go back to the initial area where to 'square off', and do the exact same thing again. Run around for a while with them chasing you and go back to the 'square off' area. At this point, they'll be fed up of chasing you. 5. This time, when jogging towards them, they'll fully expect you to do it again, as all you've done is run away. This is when you can do whatever you want, their guard will be completely down. L One method is to lock onto them, and when you jog towards them, they'll jog straight past you as they think you'll sprint away. You being locked on means your camera will pan around and you'll be able to either whale on them or hit a backstab if you do it right. (Tip: When running away from them, taunt them. Make them think that you think they cannot catch you. You want to do everything to make them think you won't go near them/give them any space to strike) I've done this a few times and it had the same effect every time. It's called Duck Duck Goose because you run away twice and then strike on the third square off. It's super silly, but it works. The reason you want to 'square off' in the same place each time is because they'll associate that area with whatever actions you take there. If you 'square off' somewhere else, whether subconscious or not, they may be more cautious or assume you could do something else. Another reason this works so well is because nobody does this in PvP. They'll assume you're a troll that will keep running away and refusing to fight. It's about sending them a complete curveball when their guard is down. This works best against melee users, like great sword users. Anyone with a weapon like Moonveil is a poor choice, as they're less likely to run towards you, and more likely to wait in a stance for you to get close.
I love Chase remembering light roll is the easiest way to counter waterfowl dance from Malenia; especially with quickstep or bloodhound's step as an AoW. It only makes sense that it works on the player version as well.
