      I own both of those as well and don't have anywhere near as many rounds through them even combined compared to yours. That's very nice. Have you had to replace any parts such as strikers or recoil springs?

    • @colt10mmsecurity68
      @colt10mmsecurity68 Год назад +2

      @@john4K47 Yes the recoil spring on my beretta is changed every 6,000 rounds whether it needs it or not. The trigger return spring has broke on me a few times, but it’s a 30 second fix. I usually change it out at the same time I change the recoil spring. At around the 30,000 mark, I changed out literally every spring, extractor, firing pin and locking block BEFORE they broke. The barrel was replaced at the 40,000 round count for good measure. While well worn, It was still hitting bullseyes but a new factory drop in barrel was just so easy to replace so why not? It was just preventative maintenance, like we do with car parts on high mileage vehicles. Other than those items that I consider preventative maintenance, it has not failed. For the Glock 17, I’ve only changed the captured recoil spring as preventative maintenance but that gun has never failed.

    • @john4K47

      @@colt10mmsecurity68 that's cool. I haven't replaced any parts on my Beretta or G17 yet. Because both don't have nearly enough rounds through them. For the longest time I kept the Beretta mainly as a collector's piece and didn't shoot it often.

However, after watching your videos, I thought I’d give the hellcat and hellcat pro a try. You right, they are crazy reliable. The one thing I changed was the recoil spring with the DPM spring kit. After testing the 3 springs that come with the kit, I found the middle spring to decrease recoil the best. I believe it decreases recoil by 20%.

    I have been buying and collecting handguns for about 43 yrs. Many are semiautos that are all steel and metal and some are polymer striker fired and also some are Revolvers. I can tell you honestly that I have never had a Revolver that had any problems with the rare exception because homemade reloads only 1 time . This is why me and many others are switching back to from autos back to Revolvers . If there is mass Kaos like a riot or a war like situation thats when I will pack my Gen 1 Glock 17 or my S&W model 915 , but believe me there will be j-frame small 38 cal revolver as a back up . The thing is that Revolvers are not made for long periods of rapid sustained firing and will over heat and that is why Semi autos are used by military armed forces. But thats a exception to the rule and Revolvers are better in most cases. Its funny young man that you apparently dont own one.

    Pocket pistol triggers are awesome, it's so cringey when people call them garbage. that safety that allows safe pocket carry allows you to hold onto your gun with your hand in your pocket in front of people without them knowing. This allows you to go from a 2 second draw time to a half a second draw time. That could mean life or death. If I see someone who looks suspicious, my hand is on my gun, and none the wiser. It's a significant advantage. Its meant for close range. However, if you work on your grip you can overcome a poor trigger pull.

    My least reliable gun ever was the Ruger LCP Max. Constant failures to return to battery. However Ruger sent me a new slide assembly and now it works great.
    Also bought one of those cheap turkish shotguns from Rock island armory(VPR40?)....broken brand new out of the box. Again, they fixed it.

    I haven't, or don't, own a pile of firearms. 3 rifles, 3 pistols. May go to 4 rifles soon but that's likely it. None of the firearms I own have experienced failures or given any reliability issues. They shot when i squeeze the trigger, no matter which ammo I run in them. This even includes my SCCY pocket pistol. I suppose if I had a dozen pistols or rifles one of them may be iffy.

    Glock 28 has mainly feed ramp issues.
    It already becomes apparent by having a simple look at the ramp.
    Widening a bit the lateral edges of the ramp and polishing it usually solves the issue.

    I have a P365. Overall build quality isn't great. The front sight just came apart when I was shooting it. It also has a light strike where every once in a while it doesn't go boom when you pull the trigger. I don't trust if for daily carry anymore. Thinking about a Hellcat or CSX - the concept of a manual safety appeals to me.

    Had a buddy ribbin me years ago for buying a used Keltec p11 . He talked about how unreliable and useless it was until we went shooting together. He got through half a mag in his eaa witness .45 before it started spitting parts out meanwhile the p11 ran reliably eating everything I ran through it all day . He was humbled to say the least , I still have the p11 with approximately 1000 rnds through it and no malfunctions to this day . Also have a spectrum that’s been 100% reliable
