I install cameras AND WiFi systems in businesses and government buildings, and I NEVER install wireless cameras. It is always connected to a cable that serves many functions, one being a battery backup in case power goes out, and another function being a direct video feed straight to the network, which a) saves onto a hard drive, and b)broadcasts it to the network
For home security try to avoid any wifi cameras, There is camera sets out there that are not wifi or wireless and have a physical storage device, these wireless wifi cameras only provide a sense of security, not any real security
Wired cameras are not full proof either. If they are reachable you can cut the cable also they can be jammed as well. Perhaps the homeowners should theft proof their garage so this doesn't happen again.
Smashing the camera, spray painting the camera lens, stealing the camera works for thief's. Hiding, camouflaging, or making the camera less noticeable is simple common sense. Many inexpensive cameras record to an SD card 24/7/365. That's the kind I have. A Wi-Fi jammer will prevent notification, but the video is recorded. My camera recorded my neighbors car. I gave the video to the police... not sure if it helped them catch the catalytic converter thief.
The mobile gas station on stocking has pictures on the front protective glass on the register of people who are banned from the store because they stole or did something violent robbery like
It will be difficult to hardwire all cameras for most people. They will have to hire an expert to do this which I'm guessing it is not cheap. Maybe one hardwired camera and they should theft proof the garage.
Or just get one with sd card backup for the people saying it will be too expensive to run cable. Most of the wifi jammers I see have cellular jamming capabilities as well. You will atleast have video of them then when the cameras come back online.
@@PyroShields why the cameras come right back online as soon as they leave. You will even get an alert your cameras are offline. they won’t waste the time to get the sd card they are looking to get in and out. they aren’t going to climb a ladder to get your sd card the police might already be on the way.
I"m no tech expert, but I know a device that disables both wi-fi and wired cameras. It's called a rock.
Get cameras with a local storage SD Card that can operate without any internet or wi-fi connection.
this is why i love wired cameras stored locally.
Most wifi cameras also have a memory card backup for if you don't have wi-fi or it's down

power over ethernet cameras require more setup but are more secure.

Wi-fi and ring cams are notorious for failing when you need them. Ring is owned by amazon, will you depend on amazon for your security.
Always go hard wired

Thanks for giving everyone the idea haha.

Hardwired , with cellular backup. You're wasting your money otherwise. That also can be defeated but not by an Amazon product.
Cell backup sounds super expensive. Something only for the rich no doubt.

@@Braddeman Can't they just remove the SD card? That would be easier than anything.
