If you expected Starfield being the same thing then you're an idiot. They're obviously two different kind of games. I can't say I appriciate Star Citizen because it's a game for people without families and with no life. You need hours to do stuff. It takes you like 40 minutes to get to the ship and fly it to the destination. Then another 30 to 40 minutes to finish and get back to the ship. It's like 3-4 hours to do anything minimum. It's a space sim for basement dwelling virgin WoW raid nerds. You have to have absolutely no life at all to get anywhere in it. The ghost hollow cutlass swarm is a great small fleet practice fight. I tried to take them on in an Andromeda and got torn to pieces. If you can get them to follow you up out of microtecs gravity field you can eva to them, blow open the doors and clear them out that way. I ended up flying back to new Babbage in a stolen one with a captive gunner once. He was largely unbothered by the chance in command on his ship. :)

@@joachimbrand2314 Yeah it ‘works’ in principle… but last I played it was still prone to potential issues. And more importantly, still requires your SHIP to log out in. So, you can’t truly explore by ground vehicle or on foot for days or weeks on end. Ultimately, you’re running back to your ship to logout. I’m dreaming of roaming the wilderness on foot or ground vehicle for days or weeks on end, logging out in a campsite, then logging back in, packing up the camp, and heading deeper into the wilderness! (Yes, I played a Ranger in SWG 😂 Still dreaming of the day Star Citizen gives me that feeling back…)
But time waits for no citizen. It makes zero sense to just logout without some support infrastructure in place, be that a ship, a campsite (in the works), or an aid shelter (this should be a thing by now). You're essentially asking to respawn in the same state and place ignoring the passage of time completely and things like consumption of oxygen, nutrients and so on plus ignoring the associated environment around you. The most 'realistic' option as per SC's remit is to logout in a safe place and if possible respawn there.

At this point I'm just going to give it up for some time. It's really frustrating that things which have worked in 3.19 are now bugged.
I'd say Quantum travel is not a loading screen because you can still see where the other players are even in QT, I mean if you are in a party and you have their markers. Anyways that was inredibly fun to watch!
If you have a qt point set or a mission set you can see their icons getting closer/farther the entire time also. Plus you can see your marker moving on the system map.
Olli: "I'm into the new driving, It's feels better." Proceeds to flip and spin out on every pebble on the ground (Not how real vehicles work when driving)... Olli: "immersion".... Come on man, the driving sucks and you know it lol
I took a break from Starfield the other day to try out 3.20. When I first loaded in, my character was walking like Quasimodo. Restarted my game and the inventory system shit the bed when I was trying to equip a backpack. While I was fighting my way through that, it crashed to desktop. When I relaunched the game I got the wonderful "player unstowed", so I jumped into Arena Commander to fix, only to realize the bindings for my HOTAS were reset. The joystick and rudder controls worked, but not the throttle. I may give it another go this evening, if I work up the desire to go through the tedious process of resetting all of the keybinds for my flight controls (again). Of course, once that is done, I already know what the next several hours of gameplay are going to entail - grinding enough credits to rebuy all of the ship components and weapons that were lost to the wipe (again) while trying not to get yeeted off of the shuttle platforms by glitchy trams, then falling through the map when my character respawns and tries to do something extreme like getting out of bed or using an elevator. And please don't get me wrong. I actually do love Star Citizen's visuals and flying the ships, much to the detriment of my bank account. Well, with the exception of taking off and landing my Carrack in hangars when the game insists on giving me hangars that are just-barely-big-enough for it while consistently giving me Hangar 11 in Area 18 for my C2. But, in fairness, I'll take a loading screen any day over the run to elevator, save ship, run to tram, run to trade area, run back to tram, run to terminals, select ship, run from elevator to ship monotony when grinding credits in SC.
4:15 it's like that seen from Ice Age where Sid meets all those other Sloths. They were probably in a Discord chat group together and couldn't easily switch back to game chat.
Quantum travel isn't a loading screen, in theory if you had enough time and fuel you'd be able to fly between planets in SC, it would take ages and the weird "space friction" would mean you'd run out of fuel long before you get there, but yeah, it's not a loading screen, you can go to the planetary stations without quantum etc.
Just found your channel tonight. Love your chill vibes, fun hanging out with you. I think you might've convinced me to get into this game, love the gameplay, it's very fun to watch. Gorgeous graphics.
5 mins after saying "when it works!" So funny...could of bet on something going off course which in itself causes a different gameplay than 1st planned...which is pretty much par for the course...and we feel so good when we pull off whatever we need to(when u flipped up STV when it stopped spinning just b4 landing on all 4 tires..it stopped and almost like struck a pose for the smallest amount of time to just keep u on the edge of your seat) ...and all to just keep playing on without giving in and quitting the current instance and starting over which is like nails screeching on blackboard...
Its so weird and rude when people don't talk on mic when you speak to them. Especially when 90% of them have mics on their headsets these days. I met some of my closest friends using voip in star citizen. Its one of the games best features. One of the guys in my org was recruited because of a conversation that happened while they waited for a train to show up at NB commons. 😆 true immersion.
Star Citizen is so special that it's bucking convention. In the real world we say version 3 point 2 not 3 point twenty. In fact, if it were version 3.21 we would say version three point two one and not 3 point twenty one. I fully expect to get flamed on this one, it's fine, sad to see the dumbing down of the world in real time.
The ground vehicle physics are definitely different. I don't think that I've ever had the same level of difficulty trying to get an ROC in the back of a Cutlass Black. It was ridiculous. The worst part, it kept jiggling while it was in there.
*uses phone while driving* and crashes. Yes, It’s always Chris’s fault. I appreciate you making this video. I usually can’t stand watching just normal gameplay videos. But you flying around a planet I went to once in 3 years is calming. I hate how the best looking planet is so far away.
Ollie, sorry to post yet another comment but just went to Calhoun Pass to try out my Lynx and found it had also changed, no real forest anymore, that's sad, but it is still a great open area with some trees to play around in. Laters.
I kind of agree. I don't think that I've ever had the same level of difficulty trying to get an ROC in the back of a Cutlass Black. It was ridiculous. The worst part, it kept jiggling while it was in there.
If you want to have a fun challenge. Get into a Cutty. Have some one jump off the platform on Orison and see if you can catch them with the ship in the 5 min they will fall before they die, without killing them with your ship. It is quite the challenge!
They do have a player experience team that collates information from forums, streams, youtube videos and Devs watch streams and answer questions in the forums, so Chris could be watching! haha
Chris said himself that he reads the forums and watches videos of player feedback related to the project the last time he was talking to Jared at CitizenCon in 2022. So it's not unlikely that Chris does watch Ollie's videos.@@thePrisoner1000
CIG needs to rework the vehicle handling again. I tried driving around in the STV and it felt like I was driving while being on parking brakes all the time. The STV was so damn slow, turning with it was awful as well and generally, the vehicle felt a bit unstable the whole time. I’d suggest CIG to play some racing games and then try to come up with some proper handling for the vehicles because what we have right now is far worse than the car handling from GTA IV. 😅
I genuinely do not understand why they removed the self-righting of ground vehicles 😂 I get it, clearly they intended vehicle tractor beams to be in this update, and it clearly and unfortunately did not pass it's Go/No-Go and was sent back for another sprint of polish... but like, undo the vehicles-don't-right-themselves-anymore change until the vehicle tractor beams are actually implemented 😂 As somebody that lives in the PNW with evergreen forests, microTech's forest biomes still have *quite a long way to go.* They've got trees and rocks, but they're missing layers upon layers of undergrowth, brush, deadfall, etc. Those forests can be made *massively more tactically relevant* and significantly more useful for FPS gameplay, but they've got to build out a helluva lot more foliage first. The improvements they've made since microTech first launched are quite impressive, though, so I'm sure they'll get there eventually. Making all of the foliage assets would take quite a while, so I suspect we'll continue to get improvement after improvement of these biomes as we get additional planets and new biomes added with new foliage, some of which will inevitably be useable on microTech as well. They've got the barest beginnings of a fleshed out evergreen asset kit, can't wait to see them fill that kit out.
Good video man i really enjoy especially Star Citizen ones i really really like because you can go anywhere you can explore freely and i mean it!! (Sad because i don't have PC at the moment but i hope in future i get one only for Star Citizen)
That gravity until suddenly fling description sounds like ground prox assist, to me. It magnet slurps you into the ground and honestly is a trash setting... I turned mine off last patch but it seemed like the game ignored the "OFF" aspect of off. Definitely feels stuck on rn, to me
Can you play this game without having to take elevators, wait for trams, walking through corridors, wait for airlocks, scanners, and other things that just literally take time? Even getting from the pilot's seat to the ground can take a good couple of minutes depending on the ship. I really want to play this game, but I also feel like life is too short for "chore simulator".
CIG may have changed something to the vehicle, but ground vehicles are effectively unchanged, it felt worse than before, I have been avoiding driving ground vehicle even in PTU.
As detailed as this game is, I’m surprised they don’t have a ramp that extends until it has a collision with the ground within a reasonable distance but then maybe that’s harder than it sounds
Haven’t played SC since they started talking about Master modes. Also, I can’t believe their talking about 3.22 now. Seems like still a long way to Pyro. It’s been 6 years now since I’ve financially supported them, and seems like its going to be a long time more before I start again.

I tried getting into 3.20 3 times, created 2 characters (for some reason first one didn't get saved), each time encountered a different bug preventing me from playing. At this point I'm just going to give it up for some time. It's really frustrating that things which have worked in 3.19 are now bugged.
Leave it to Olli to find Whiterun Hold on Microtech. I was expecting a Giant to club him back into orbit at any second. 🤣
Plus you can always just turn it off and drop out into normal space at the point you were at
Plus you can get pulled out of quantum with the snares at any time.
Olli: "I'm into the new driving, It's feels better." Proceeds to flip and spin out on every pebble on the ground (Not how real vehicles work when driving)... Olli: "immersion"....
Come on man, the driving sucks and you know it lol
Define "pebble"
Man, after playing StarField I'm starving for random multi layered missions in SC.
I was hoping you'd open up the MSR and find the Fury still safe inside
I was half expecting the STV to detonate when you got back in it
Quantum travel isn't a loading screen, in theory if you had enough time and fuel you'd be able to fly between planets in SC, it would take ages and the weird "space friction" would mean you'd run out of fuel long before you get there, but yeah, it's not a loading screen, you can go to the planetary stations without quantum etc.
Looks like for ground vehicles they've switched from GTA V physics to GTA IV physics.
Yup, definitely a good thing. They just need to iron out the physics a bit more when they're stationed on a ship's grid.
imagine meeting people on the streets in real life and ask them to jump in the air, in the middle of the parking lot, if they can hear you
In a forest you need a hover bike, then you can reenact that scene from Return of the Jedi!
Wow,why didn't I think of that before? A Nox in the forest and you could do the speeder bike chase!
If you retract the Fury's landing gear it won't stick to the floor, also changing configurations makes it easier to get through the door.
Quantumtravel is not a loading screen, you cann stopp it everytime, interact with the world, have a shotout in your Ship etc.
Just found your channel tonight. Love your chill vibes, fun hanging out with you. I think you might've convinced me to get into this game, love the gameplay, it's very fun to watch. Gorgeous graphics.
To prevent the "hick up" you can setup the burst intensity low to prevent it.
The 400i is so good in this patch
If you hear Ollie yell "Chris!", you know it's a good video.
it seems the suspension dampening is very underwhelming, like real car with very bad shocks, i really hope it will not be forgotten for half decade
When in low gravity, just a little surface blop can cause total disaster. Your vehicle can flip like neutron star..
That's such a petty thing to have a problem with. It's like the people who argue about the pronunciation of gif.
The ground vehicle physics are definitely different. I don't think that I've ever had the same level of difficulty trying to get an ROC in the back of a Cutlass Black. It was ridiculous. The worst part, it kept jiggling while it was in there.
The Top Gear reference got me 😂. You look like Hammond out there rolling cars over.
*uses phone while driving* and crashes. Yes, It’s always Chris’s fault.
I appreciate you making this video. I usually can’t stand watching just normal gameplay videos. But you flying around a planet I went to once in 3 years is calming. I hate how the best looking planet is so far away.
11:55 when you're not looking where you're driving, even in an open plain lol
From what I've heard they just reverted the forests back to where they used to be. They were pretty dense in the past but got nerfed over time.
Ollie, sorry to post yet another comment but just went to Calhoun Pass to try out my Lynx and found it had also changed, no real forest anymore, that's sad, but it is still a great open area with some trees to play around in. Laters.
They should give Star Citizen a good story and smart NPC AI, interactive environment. What they did with the world is already impressive
27:14 thats got to be the best roughest landing ive ever seen
To not "fling up" in a hangar - you can restrict the torque force in the interface. Dont know the exact button coz i got it mapped on my HOSAS
Ground vehicles actually got worse after the rework
damn
And apparently they removed the magical flip after you restart engines.. Gotta ruin everything as always..
It's not the gravity - use the cruise control/speed limited, put it right down and then when you take off it won't suddenly jump up like that.
Even if he can't hear you, you speaking to Chris is still really funny.
It's kinda weird we can move giant cargo containers with the handheld tractor beam, but not much smaller ground vehicles.
That is a compromise til the bigger hand helds come out
No Spoilers Olli... But yeah... the Ion and Inferno Have had a buff
I think the one thing I'm most excited to see in SC is the rework of the Constellation Andromeda, been waiting years for this to happen.
11:49 The Perfect Top-Gear Documentary 😂
CIG needs to rework the vehicle handling again. I tried driving around in the STV and it felt like I was driving while being on parking brakes all the time. The STV was so damn slow, turning with it was awful as well and generally, the vehicle felt a bit unstable the whole time. I’d suggest CIG to play some racing games and then try to come up with some proper handling for the vehicles because what we have right now is far worse than the car handling from GTA IV. 😅
I genuinely do not understand why they removed the self-righting of ground vehicles 😂 I get it, clearly they intended vehicle tractor beams to be in this update, and it clearly and unfortunately did not pass it's Go/No-Go and was sent back for another sprint of polish... but like, undo the vehicles-don't-right-themselves-anymore change until the vehicle tractor beams are actually implemented 😂
As somebody that lives in the PNW with evergreen forests, microTech's forest biomes still have *quite a long way to go.* They've got trees and rocks, but they're missing layers upon layers of undergrowth, brush, deadfall, etc.
A strategy to roll a buggy using a ship... very smart! I enjoyed the video thank you^^
Feels like they really goofed the center of gravity on ground vehicles, but some other aspects of them feel pretty nice.
Definitely feels stuck on rn, to me
I LOVE the STV "Stevie". If Roberts and Musk got together and built this IRL I would buy it in a heartbeat.
The reason it is hard to move when the ship is on the pad or cargo grid is because of the setting to make it that way turned on.
Ollie Hammond over here flipping his vehicle...
I just made the same comment before seeing this one 😂.
And on today's episode of Top Gear, Olli Hammond flips a car.
CIG may have changed something to the vehicle, but ground vehicles are effectively unchanged, it felt worse than before, I have been avoiding driving ground vehicle even in PTU.
nice video editing... what do you use for game footage capture? which softwear ?
We need animals we can hunt and eat or eat us, camping equipment and maybe some random caves we can go into.
As detailed as this game is, I’m surprised they don’t have a ramp that extends until it has a collision with the ground within a reasonable distance but then maybe that’s harder than it sounds
Ollie, you need an intro for all your videos. It would be very cool.
MSR my favourite ship! Hope CIG could update the inside in future.
Dont try to avoid incoming fire, Ollie, that'd break my heart.
Haven’t played SC since they started talking about Master modes. Also, I can’t believe their talking about 3.22 now. Seems like still a long way to Pyro. It’s been 6 years now since I’ve financially supported them, and seems like its going to be a long time more before I start again.
17:14 I too like to rag on SC (even though I'm a backer), but after seeing the limitations and loading screens in SF, we do have to appreciate a little bit that everything and beyond is walkable, driveable, flyable.
I played so much starfiel that Everytime I play other space games I hear in Vasco voice " hello captain " and other Vasco sounds 😅.
All I can say to those Stationary AI ships is: Railgun + 50 rounds
