After playing SF, the SC experience of just taking off and land is the gameplay I needed, don't know why but it just feels so good
That's why some people play flight sims rather than arcade flight games.
Not that SC is a proper sim, but it's that manual control over activities that are at least somewhat simulated in detail.
@@j.d.4697 or maybe it's because it's multiplayer rather than single player
I played a ton of Starfield and i'm with you not being able to fly around freely definitely is something that feels needed.
@@suoutriVGameDevor maybe it’s both
Note to self: Store a multi-tool with tractor beam attachment inside every ship with storage capability.
Won't move a vehicle. Unless they've changed it. When they come out with the bigger version it should though.
And what does that do?
@@TheFloy You can move things with it.
@@GUNNER67akaKelt take off helmet, and tractor beam the box into the car? I dunno if that would work but I'd try it.
@@vorpalrobot 🤔Worth a shot. Good idea, anyway.👍
Maybe your arm armor though, if you're on a moon with no atmosphere.
(Trying to) play Starfield has given me a new appreciation for what Star Citizen is trying to do
100%
The key word is “trying”
Imagine star field without loading screens. We’ll be there one day
If you expected Starfield being the same thing then you're an idiot. They're obviously two different kind of games. I can't say I appriciate Star Citizen because it's a game for people without families and with no life. You need hours to do stuff. It takes you like 40 minutes to get to the ship and fly it to the destination. Then another 30 to 40 minutes to finish and get back to the ship. It's like 3-4 hours to do anything minimum.
It's a space sim for basement dwelling virgin WoW raid nerds. You have to have absolutely no life at all to get anywhere in it. Then you have morons PvP'ing you every chance they get so you can't even enjoy the slow AF progression piecefully.
@@AHomelessDorito I hope so.
Oli - the manoeuvring in such tight spaces works much better when you >>disable the proximity assist
And lower speed cap when doing fine maneuvers, as well.
For those that don't know, every time someone touches the Ghost Hollow terminal during "Money for Nothing", an AI ship spawns. It can get crazy.
1:46 that landing was perfect... the way you turned the ship around and touched the ground was smooth asf. GG👍
I just pray that one day, when the verse is populated with creatures and random dynamic content, we can log out and log back in at the same spot. It’ll make exploration such a wonderful thing to do.
you can already do it
Bed log out works already...
@@joachimbrand2314 Yeah it ‘works’ in principle… but last I played it was still prone to potential issues. And more importantly, still requires your SHIP to log out in. So, you can’t truly explore by ground vehicle or on foot for days or weeks on end. Ultimately, you’re running back to your ship to logout. I’m dreaming of roaming the wilderness on foot or ground vehicle for days or weeks on end, logging out in a campsite, then logging back in, packing up the camp, and heading deeper into the wilderness!
(Yes, I played a Ranger in SWG 😂 Still dreaming of the day Star Citizen gives me that feeling back…)
But time waits for no citizen. It makes zero sense to just logout without some support infrastructure in place, be that a ship, a campsite (in the works), or an aid shelter (this should be a thing by now). You're essentially asking to respawn in the same state and place ignoring the passage of time completely and things like consumption of oxygen, nutrients and so on plus ignoring the associated environment around you. The most 'realistic' option as per SC's remit is to logout in a safe place and if possible respawn there.
Bed logging works untill you have to wait for a reset to play again. Many people still get logged out of the game bed logging
The ghost hollow cutlass swarm is a great small fleet practice fight. I tried to take them on in an Andromeda and got torn to pieces. If you can get them to follow you up out of microtecs gravity field you can eva to them, blow open the doors and clear them out that way. I ended up flying back to new Babbage in a stolen one with a captive gunner once. He was largely unbothered by the chance in command on his ship. :)
Its one of the best bugs..... I mean features in the game imo. Lol. I love taking various ships and seeing how long I can survive. 😂
Ive told others this but the secret to fury positioning is rhr following.
1) turn your limiter way down.
2) turn off the lamding gear while positioning.
3) once your exactly where you want, just turn on the landing gear.
This will slliw you yo put it exactly where you want.
I have about 90 hours into Starfield. Im only about halfway through the story I'd guess. It was really fun for about two weeks. However, how spoiled I am from Star Citizen, No Man's Sky VR and Cyberpunk 2077 in VR, is abundantly clear. Those 3 games have set the bar for either fidelity, immersion or both.
Starfield has the mission depth I can't wait for Star Citizen to have but after almost 100 hours in , I really can see how it's basically Skyrim in space.
Which isn't a bad thing mind you.
It just can't drop my jaw like Star Citizen does.....when it's working.
Couldn't have summarized it better. Enjoyed all those games but they all keep me aching for Star Citizen.
Absolutely true 👍
You can't really scratch the itching that star citizen gives you.
@@Shadow_2135Yes, that burning itching feeling. SC (for now) is like herpes that you can't stop getting and giving. Some day it will be cured.
Starfield has been the best 7/10 game, i think bethesda played it really safe
I will buy SF when it drops to 20 bucks which is normal for me anyway and don't recommend game pass, bcs it takes me a long time to finish games!
Loved seeing you use the MSR. My favorite ship and daily driver. And glad to resonate with the stuffing as many vehicles into the hold as possible ordeal
its only me or what daily driver a c2?
yeah how dose it feel to have your Hydrogen Ram scoops to not be working at all and now just force you to pay stupid mounts of cash to refule ....??
Last night showing my friend SC we looked forever for a non-barren stretch of land to meet up, we drove the PTV's on orison and wrecked them bc they're impossible to control, did the training bounty, did the training bounty again bc of the patch, and 30k'd right before jumptown. I love you SC!
My ROC is totally unuseable too, can't even load into ship, submitted two issue reports both before the update today and then again today on updated version, please add to my reports
Removing the ground vehicle auto righting feature was stupid. If this game ever makes it to beta sure but the game is still buggy enough that we need all the helpful features we can get!
Land Vehicles feel horrible after the "Rework" They REALLY need to work more on it
This update is so cool with PES, that reclaimer could have been on that server for weeks just laying in that forest.
And that group of NPC's could be remnants from a mission someone abandoned 2 days ago.
The new forests look amazing, they feel much more real than previously, but this was done at the expence of performance, which is already lacking, so my laptop is now reaaaaaaally struggling. But they also made the brown areas much more barren, which feels eery and i dont really like that. But yeah, the much more denser forests look amazing
Which laptop do you have?
i think the barren areas are kinda accurate, as the trees and grass thins out as it goes up the mountain
I to am interested in the laptop model
The trees used to sway in the wind, I hope they haven’t nerfed them
You can change the strength of the trusters using right alt and mouse wheel, allows for really soft landings.
the fact you can watch this with steve flipped under a tree and you can try to find him right after finishing the video, unreal
when this game is fully polished and the quests actually dont glitch out then it will be such an awesome game
Need to come to console
u and everyone else here know thats never going to happen.
@@Alcapone901 no it doesnt...console gamers are too toxic and have way higher expectations.
@@b3at2 Not even that, putting it on console would absolutely destroy this games potential if it's even still there, you just can't be as detailed or complex with the limitations a console and controller bring. This game is testing things with it's engine that many high end gaming PC's just can't handle.
@@b3at2PC players are far more toxic, just look at your comment 😅 “console players expect to much” I’m sorry we want to pay full price for finished products and not concept pieces 🤷🏻♂️
its very refreshing to hear you enjoying SC again! :D
"oh no!"
and dude the breathing feels insane now!
Olli's Star Citizen videos always run in the most impredictible way
imagine meeting people on the streets in real life and ask them to jump in the air, in the middle of the parking lot, if they can hear you
This is why I love Star Citizen, it's like a choose your own adventure book.
Olli: "I'm into the new driving, It's feels better." Proceeds to flip and spin out on every pebble on the ground (Not how real vehicles work when driving)... Olli: "immersion"....
Come on man, the driving sucks and you know it lol
Define "pebble"
Leave it to Olli to find Whiterun Hold on Microtech. I was expecting a Giant to club him back into orbit at any second. 🤣
After meeting that group and he went to take off, I was waiting for one of them to be hiding the Olli's ship and to kill him once they left the restricted area
I wasn't paying attention to the spartan platform they had, but I was expecting missile lock after he took off 😅
should make a ship control mode for landing and being docked in cargo bays like here 3:00 where all controls are greatly reduced and ships reaction is slow
That used to be the thing when you had landing gear down.
Hey one more note I've always meant to pass on to you, as a fellow MSR user I discovered a long time ago that you do not need to use the elevator, you can just jump up as you run up to the ladder and your character will lift themselves up and the door will open for you. No need to pause and click the up elevator button. Then when you come back to the cargo bay you can just jump down no pausing. Much quicker way to get around, especially if your in an emergency and need to get to the cockpit quick or to the cargo bay quickly. Hope you find that info useful. Have a great day dude.
15:29 😂 now that’s some hard core dreidel action!!
I gotta try em out too, but i think the STV when it came out already was tuned pretty "new", i'd be very interested to see if the old ones like the Cyclone feel less stiff and brick-like now. My bar for "good" physics? As close to the Halo Warthog as possible, but 20% less slippery.
Retract the landing gear first. The landing gear "snaps" to the floor grid. If you retract them first, you can lift off easier. Also, the ground vehicles are in desperate need of dampers. Yes, they've changed MT. The place I go to looks similar but has green grass fields. Edit: I had no idea I was going to be watching Olli on Naked and Afraid. Also, you should have tried to get into the MSR. Wasn't your Fury LX still in it?
Wow I've never seen the full quality graphics of Microtech, the clouds are gorgeous
I was hoping you'd open up the MSR and find the Fury still safe inside
It's the grav tech in the fury. If you tap n while landed you'll turn it off, then you can lift off carefully
I had a hell of a time getting my ROC in my Cutlass. Never had issues this bad in previous builds.
Me too, totally unusable, even after update, please add to my report in issues, also when I bedlog and then get back in game rear ramp no longer works, you can hear it but no animation, also made a report on that please add if you experience same thing, and exiting seat puts you in 3rd person mode, this is really bad, also I hate the new scan V mode, this really sucks
Everything bounces WAY too much. Just the slightest bump sends you into outer space.
@@DarthPoynerYou make a very good point. I wonder if it be easier or different to load up on microTech then on a moon. I’ll test that out.
17:14 I too like to rag on SC (even though I'm a backer), but after seeing the limitations and loading screens in SF, we do have to appreciate a little bit that everything and beyond is walkable, driveable, flyable.
Just found your channel tonight. Love your chill vibes, fun hanging out with you. I think you might've convinced me to get into this game, love the gameplay, it's very fun to watch. Gorgeous graphics.
I was half expecting the STV to detonate when you got back in it
Man, after playing StarField I'm starving for random multi layered missions in SC.
If you haven't already, try turning off "Flight - Proximity Assist Defaults On" to "No." That might be what causes that "sticking" when you take off... and what caused you to bounce off your MSR's roof. I'm not 100% sure as I have yet to try it myself once I unpack my PC... but it's something I only just learned about.
The 400i is so good in this patch
11:55 when you're not looking where you're driving, even in an open plain lol
I really hope they will drop some real good things in the coming citizencon,we be waiting 42 and pyro so long time😢
I just don't want the focus to be on Pyro, again
Not gonna happen
@@jacobmars unless they would do something cool like; we have a surprise for you guys, we brought a count down clock of an 1 hour that we will run with you today to release Pyro to the live servers after 1 hour

My SC experience after every time I try to give it another chance: load into game, spend 3 hours trying to navigate menus and buildings, finally get my ship, spend another hour trying to figure out, how to launch ship, fold out the wings etc. If your friend joins you add another few hours trying to link up after one of you crashes, finally get out of the hangar and try to do a mission and die to something stupid like setting your helmet on the ground and it disappears, or getting stuck in the map etc. Basically I spend all day doing literally nothing.
I tried getting into 3.20 3 times, created 2 characters (for some reason first one didn't get saved), each time encountered a different bug preventing me from playing. At this point I'm just going to give it up for some time. It's really frustrating that things which have worked in 3.19 are now bugged.
To prevent the "hick up" you can setup the burst intensity low to prevent it.
I'm not quite sure what it is but I've recently fallen back in love with the game, i started playing again just a week before 3.20. I have a love/hate relationship with CIG.
Same. I had not touched it for 2 years. Did some PC upgrades and figured I'd see how it did on SC. Very much enjoyed it again........then 3.20 happened and I had no inventory, can't use my Connie with the T-pose merlin stuck in the back. Bummed, I'm thinking here we go again. But they fixed the inventory within a couple days so I'm hopeful again and having fun. Now if I could get my Connie back.....
If you retract the Fury's landing gear it won't stick to the floor, also changing configurations makes it easier to get through the door.
I subscribed off of that maneuver @15:20!
4:15 it's like that seen from Ice Age where Sid meets all those other Sloths. They were probably in a Discord chat group together and couldn't easily switch back to game chat.
The ground vehicle physics are definitely different. I don't think that I've ever had the same level of difficulty trying to get an ROC in the back of a Cutlass Black. It was ridiculous. The worst part, it kept jiggling while it was in there.
31:00 Next time, call for backup! This is exactly what the Redeemer is for!
as a new player to star citizen this game has been fun to play with others but the bugs just outweigh the fun i have made 160k in 2 days and i have lost that 160k to bugs alone if only youtubers would of shown the actual state of the game i would not of bought this game in it's current state
I think it really depends what patch you jump in at and pc specs. The full number change patches like 3.18 and 3.19 are always a mess so maybe 3.20.1 might be smoother for yoy
yeah maybe thanks for the info but i wish they would just stop adding more stuff and fixing stuff they don't need to and actually fix stuff rather then introducing more bugs like yesterday they said they would fix sound cutting out and inventory but they didn't when i was in a 1v1 i died because the sound was bugged and when i went to swap my guns it would put the gun that had no ammo back in my hands every time i have a i7 8700k and 3060ti and i play at low 1080p i am lucky to get 30 fps i tried ultra and that is much worse@@bathtubbarracuda
I took a break from Starfield the other day to try out 3.20. When I first loaded in, my character was walking like Quasimodo. Restarted my game and the inventory system shit the bed when I was trying to equip a backpack. While I was fighting my way through that, it crashed to desktop. When I relaunched the game I got the wonderful "player unstowed", so I jumped into Arena Commander to fix, only to realize the bindings for my HOTAS were reset. The joystick and rudder controls worked, but not the throttle.
I may give it another go this evening, if I work up the desire to go through the tedious process of resetting all of the keybinds for my flight controls (again). Of course, once that is done, I already know what the next several hours of gameplay are going to entail - grinding enough credits to rebuy all of the ship components and weapons that were lost to the wipe (again) while trying not to get yeeted off of the shuttle platforms by glitchy trams, then falling through the map when my character respawns and tries to do something extreme like getting out of bed or using an elevator.
And please don't get me wrong. I actually do love Star Citizen's visuals and flying the ships, much to the detriment of my bank account. Well, with the exception of taking off and landing my Carrack in hangars when the game insists on giving me hangars that are just-barely-big-enough for it while consistently giving me Hangar 11 in Area 18 for my C2. But, in fairness, I'll take a loading screen any day over the run to elevator, save ship, run to tram, run to trade area, run back to tram, run to terminals, select ship, run from elevator to ship monotony when grinding credits in SC.
From what I've heard they just reverted the forests back to where they used to be. They were pretty dense in the past but got nerfed over time.
That gravity until suddenly fling description sounds like ground prox assist, to me. It magnet slurps you into the ground and honestly is a trash setting... I turned mine off last patch but it seemed like the game ignored the "OFF" aspect of off. Definitely feels stuck on rn, to me
it seems the suspension dampening is very underwhelming, like real car with very bad shocks, i really hope it will not be forgotten for half decade
Looks like for ground vehicles they've switched from GTA V physics to GTA IV physics.
Yup, definitely a good thing. They just need to iron out the physics a bit more when they're stationed on a ship's grid.
Ground vehicles actually got worse after the rework
damn
And apparently they removed the magical flip after you restart engines.. Gotta ruin everything as always..
I kind of agree. I don't think that I've ever had the same level of difficulty trying to get an ROC in the back of a Cutlass Black. It was ridiculous. The worst part, it kept jiggling while it was in there.
I'd say Quantum travel is not a loading screen because you can still see where the other players are even in QT, I mean if you are in a party and you have their markers.
Anyways that was inredibly fun to watch!
If you have a qt point set or a mission set you can see their icons getting closer/farther the entire time also. Plus you can see your marker moving on the system map.
Plus you can always just turn it off and drop out into normal space at the point you were at
Plus you can get pulled out of quantum with the snares at any time.
27:14 thats got to be the best roughest landing ive ever seen
To not "fling up" in a hangar - you can restrict the torque force in the interface. Dont know the exact button coz i got it mapped on my HOSAS
The Top Gear reference got me 😂. You look like Hammond out there rolling cars over.
The reason it is hard to move when the ship is on the pad or cargo grid is because of the setting to make it that way turned on.
Feels like they really goofed the center of gravity on ground vehicles, but some other aspects of them feel pretty nice.
I think the one thing I'm most excited to see in SC is the rework of the Constellation Andromeda, been waiting years for this to happen.
Good video man i really enjoy especially Star Citizen ones i really really like because you can go anywhere you can explore freely and i mean it!! (Sad because i don't have PC at the moment but i hope in future i get one only for Star Citizen)
In a forest you need a hover bike, then you can reenact that scene from Return of the Jedi!
Wow,why didn't I think of that before? A Nox in the forest and you could do the speeder bike chase!
I noticed that the third person view (using F4) dosn't always work, and i certainly find i cant zoom in it.. how do you do the zooming ???
Quantum travel isn't a loading screen, in theory if you had enough time and fuel you'd be able to fly between planets in SC, it would take ages and the weird "space friction" would mean you'd run out of fuel long before you get there, but yeah, it's not a loading screen, you can go to the planetary stations without quantum etc.
I played so much starfiel that Everytime I play other space games I hear in Vasco voice " hello captain " and other Vasco sounds 😅.
It would be cool if you could attach an cable and wench to an object or the ground to roll the vehicle back over ..or even drag something out of something
always happy to see a new video from you Olli, your videos are a bit different in the sense that they don't feel as scripted but more raw which is something I personally enjoy seeing more. Gives you a more honest look at where the game is now. Keep up the good work!
Quantumtravel is not a loading screen, you cann stopp it everytime, interact with the world, have a shotout in your Ship etc.
Yo ! How do you put off the line in the center of spaceship HUD while being flying ?
When in low gravity, just a little surface blop can cause total disaster. Your vehicle can flip like neutron star..
It's not the gravity - use the cruise control/speed limited, put it right down and then when you take off it won't suddenly jump up like that.
If you hear Ollie yell "Chris!", you know it's a good video.
the suspense, then boom its upright again haha
CIG may have changed something to the vehicle, but ground vehicles are effectively unchanged, it felt worse than before, I have been avoiding driving ground vehicle even in PTU.
I kind of figured you'd go inside your crashed MSR and see if you can get out the Fury or at least get your armor back.
Man cant wait for the argo srv to be able to flip vehicles with 😀
MSR my favourite ship! Hope CIG could update the inside in future.
Ollie, sorry to post yet another comment but just went to Calhoun Pass to try out my Lynx and found it had also changed, no real forest anymore, that's sad, but it is still a great open area with some trees to play around in. Laters.
We need animals we can hunt and eat or eat us, camping equipment and maybe some random caves we can go into.
It's kinda weird we can move giant cargo containers with the handheld tractor beam, but not much smaller ground vehicles.
That is a compromise til the bigger hand helds come out
I think it is a little of both. I think they slightly changed things here and there but I think its mainly the fact that when you play SC for soo long you take it for granted and don't really notice the "good" things. After playing SF you really start to appreciate what SC has and is.
Very very true.
Starfield doesnt even have actual space. When in space you dont move towards or away from a certain planet. Its just some background picture
A strategy to roll a buggy using a ship... very smart! I enjoyed the video thank you^^
nice video editing... what do you use for game footage capture? which softwear ?
It's curious that you weren't able to flip your vehicle over while driving. When I was in my Mule I flipped a whole bunch and self-righted every time
Its so weird and rude when people don't talk on mic when you speak to them. Especially when 90% of them have mics on their headsets these days. I met some of my closest friends using voip in star citizen. Its one of the games best features. One of the guys in my org was recruited because of a conversation that happened while they waited for a train to show up at NB commons. 😆 true immersion.
Just bought the game today, have had a blast in the few hours I’ve played so far
I have yet to drive my Ursa Rover, but if they took the self-righting feature away it will make the vehicle useless. I always end up upside down at some point.
10:51 Famous last words 😂
5 mins after saying "when it works!" So funny...could of bet on something going off course which in itself causes a different gameplay than 1st planned...which is pretty much par for the course...and we feel so good when we pull off whatever we need to(when u flipped up STV when it stopped spinning just b4 landing on all 4 tires..it stopped and almost like struck a pose for the smallest amount of time to just keep u on the edge of your seat) ...and all to just keep playing on without giving in and quitting the current instance and starting over which is like nails screeching on blackboard...
Anyone out there not able to get into the PU from start screen? Game loads alright till there. Downloaded last patch worked fine first time then nothing after that
So as of this video has the ground vehicles been fixed because I know they updated them, but it seem to break them entirely for me every time I spawn an Ursa it just bugs out and does whatever it wants when I turn it on. Also, I lost my corsair and my ursa
They did touch up the landscape in Microtec for sure for this patch.
but fked up the whole game experience insteal. unplayable and terrible job once AGAIN from CIG
All the green biomes in MT are updated to current (Pyro) tech.
11:58 look at the b roll 🤣
If you want to have a fun challenge. Get into a Cutty. Have some one jump off the platform on Orison and see if you can catch them with the ship in the 5 min they will fall before they die, without killing them with your ship. It is quite the challenge!
