Very informative. Last week I had an OLIF. The surgeon performed a disk replacement on L5, removing the existing disk and replacing it with a plastic disk. He went in slighlty north of the hipbone and inserted the new disks. Then he went in through the back to perform a rod / screw fusion operation between L5 and S1. I am glad that I did this . Your demo video was the first one I looked at. It gave me great confidence. I am living in MI.

Why did you quit making videos? I just found your channel and the videos are 3 years old, but it's clear that you are a great speaker, teacher, and surgeon. Very informative videos and easy to understand. I have spinal stenosis and have an appointment next week with a NS and he will have my MRI to look at, and tell me what is needed. I have a copy of my MRI report and that word Spondylolisthesis is mentioned. I just watched your video about that, and it has brought me much comfort with the hope that maybe a chiropractor can help me. I have seen one before but I had no idea then, and he didn't either, of what was going on. Thank you for your info and hope you are doing well. God bless!

Thank you much. Great video that explains in detail and understandable terms the process of this surgery. Having worked in Health Care for 35 yrs. managing physician practices and now faced with this surgery myself, I found your video to be excellent. I can better prepare my questions for my physician and visualize the process helping to manage expectations.

I went to your office last year and I really appreciate your honesty and individualized conservative recommendation. I was sent to another surgeon this year and wants to do spinal fusion. I don't think it's the best route for me and I do trust your medical opinion. better. Thank you.

Dr. Armaghani, I am a 68 year old male that has been considering lumbar spine surgery for the last 3-4 years. I have stenosis and a spondylolisthesis between L3 - L4 that has caused pain down my right leg. I live in Georgia so I cannot come to your offices in Florida but iIwas wondering if you have any knowledge or opinion on a relatively new apparatus called StabiLink. It is supposed to be a MIS Interlaminar Spinal Fusion System used to treat similar issues that the TLIF surgery you do. Can you please make a video on this topic? I realize this might not be your specialty but I enjoyed watching your entire RUclips video catalog on spinal surgery and thought you might have some info on the StabiLink system. Thank you.

Thanks for the videos and information. I had a fusion a year ago and my surgeon had me do a CT of the Lumbar spine at L4/L5, and said it looked like it did fuse, but now thinks it didn't? Is it that hard to read a CT scan after fusion to tell if it fused correctly or not? I still think my issue is L5/S1? What would you suggest as the next step? Now getting bad constant hip pain that moves to my butt and down to the outside of my right shin, Not the pain level 10 before fusion in the left leg but bad enough I am in pain when in a car and it wakes me up at night.

It is tough to say without looking at your imaging. In general though, I always encourage patients to get second and sometimes third opinions on their conditions and care if they are struggling.

Yes, we can. We just can't order MRIs on some patients with pacemakers but we order another test that gives us the same information called a CT-Myelogram. This is pacemaker safe.
