Very good instructions - NOW to try it - -hope my Roku can do this. Thanks for being easy and concise with your teaching - quickly but not too fast. Cheers.
worked flawlessly. Thankyou!
Welcome
I was stuck on the PC aspect!! Thank you so much.
Great demonstration! This has been very helpful!
Learn something new everyday wow thanks
Glad I could help
Thank you again. I learned about a neat way to bypass tetheing restrictions (tethering data on phone to PC). (The idea is to use cell phone data, if the WiFi is not working).
The idea is to set the TTL to 65 to avoid throttling by cell phone carrier.
Open command prompt on PC, run as administrator.
Type: "Ping 127.0.0.1", will show TTL of 128.
To change to 65:
Open command prompt and type:
netsh int ipv4 set glob
default cur hop limit=65
Ping again, shows that TTL is now 65.
Then connect the PC to the TV set with an HDMI cable.
I never tried this myself, but wanted to tell you about this method. It may work with some cell phone carriers, but not others.
Thank you. This was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much! This worked perfectly!
Thank you so much! This was so helpful!! :)
I have been trying to get my TV connected to watch my TV from my computer. It finally worked due to your directions. THANKS!!!!!

Glad it helped
thank you!!!
Thank you, so easy
Happy to help!
Thanks. Also works with Roku stick with my non Roku TV. The mirrored picture is fine, but is just slightly oversized. It'll do though, I can't see anyway of reducing it to fit exactly.
Thank you
You're welcome
When the laptop connects to ROKU at the first screen it is frozen at that point and after about a minute it goes back to the Home screen. I did do a reset on the ROKU but still not working. I may try a factory reset. How long does the ROKU box last. 1 year? 2 or more years? Thanks!
Hi there,it was perfect
Thanks Martin!
Everything went smooth works well except....( no sound from TV, ) help!!
MUCHAS GRACIAS :D ME AYUDASTE MUCHO
De nada
Can anyone help me please ive done all the steps and ive also made sure that my Pc and Tv are connected to the exact same wifi but im still not getting the ROku tv to pop up on my pc for me to be able to broadcast it. Any resolutions to this please help.?
I’m using windows 10 pc will I be able to do this ?I don’t have a hdmi thing on back of my pc guess it’s way too old so I was hoping I could do this but can’t find the settings your finding .is it because my hp running windows 10 might be too old?thanks
We love you Eloy
I love you too
hi in windows 10 is = for conect device?
This is very helpful... but I can't get the sound from my Windows 11 PC laptop to the TV (not a Roku TV)... I have a Roku Ultra streaming box attached to my Samsung TV.
I get the video, but not the audio... any idea what the problem might be ?
I have a soundbar connected to the TV thru the Optical connection, and was getting no sound.
So I disabled the soundbar, and set the TV to use the TV speaker, but that still did not work !
I figured it out... I had to set my PC's Sound to "Digital Output" (and set the TV to use the TV speaker, not the optical soundbar)... I usually use external speakers on the PC... and the internal speakers would not work either... a lot of trial and error !
Mine keeps saying couldn't connect
My desktop seems to allow full screen on my tv when it cast, but when my laptop is connected, it shows a tiny screen? I tried the extended setting, but it looks off. How can I fix it?
Thanks for the video. Could you do a video about mirroring a smartphone to a regular TV, or Roku TV? I can get internet onto my phone, and could mirror it to the TV without having tethering restrictions (I hope?) I am looking ahead to my ISP crapping out on me (it happened once already), and just being able to call Verizon, give them $65, and have unlimited data (I think it would work that way without having to get their gateway box).
This one is in my to do list. Thanks for the suggestion
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Thank you. I look forward to that.
For some reason, after I am prompted I click allow and the purple screen comes up for about 10 seconds, and then it goes away, and I end up at the Roku main screen. Weird
Excuse me Sir but what happens if I click on Display and it only has a Detect button when I click nothing happens? There is nothing that says connect wirelessly. Thank you Sir.
mine says not available for this site when it was working an hour ago
it shows up on my phone but when I try to put it on my PC it doesn't show up, but others TV in the house show up on mylaptop what can I do ?
My pc does not detect any wireless displays. Even though it is connected to the same network.
If you have Smart Connect (2.4GHz and 5GHz) on the same SSID, then maybe one device is connected to the 2.4GHz and the other to the 5GHz.
Under settings I see language, software update, control other device yet no screen mirroring option. Do I need to set up a Roku account and connect tv to wifi net first for this option to appear? Old tv just connected on its own and had screen mirroring option, samsung. This tv is tcl roku smart tv 4k yet no screen mirroring option visible.
Make sure that the TV is updated to the latest version
@@KnowledgeSharingTech I figured it out thanks. You have to fully set up a account first. Alot of stuff they don't tell you like all tech so YT is really the only way. Feel sorry for older people. I couldn't even get into my e-mail without first typing in a code from phone. God help us if something ever happens to e-mail or phone, your locked out of every thing. Also getting live people for anything to help. More tech more problems.
it appears as 'not connected' on the bluetooth and other devices page :-(
Make sure the PC and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network
@@KnowledgeSharingTech they are both on the same network
I have screen mirroring on my tv set to always and when I go to connect the display on my pc it doesn't show up. Not sure what to do.
Make sure both devices are connected to the same network
I followed all your steps and got the video from my computer to my tv, but it's a music documentary and the sound delays, skips, and has static. How can I get the sound to transfer correctly to the tv along with the video?
Verify that both the TV and the PC are connected to the 5GHz band of your Wi-Fi
I don't know what that is or how to do it. @@KnowledgeSharingTech
Dis never works for me
prolly ur pc
tv*
That's because you breath in strongly
Aka suck
Or if you are young like 5-13 your parents might have set parental controls on
what if it doesn't say screen mirroring?
Make sure both Windows and Roku are updated
my pc cant seem to find my roku tv even on the same wifii
This isn't what I was looking for, I wanted to be able to access my computer programs from Roku and not just see images of the desktop. I don't have a Roku TV, just the ROKU device, and was able to connect to the computer's desktop but it does very little good if the remote of the ROKU can't do anything with the computer I am on.
Thanks for a clear demonstaration. Please speak a little slower in future videos.
Noted
Too fast! It would help if you slowed down. When I got to connect, it showed my Roku Ultra but then said could not connect. So I'm frustrated!
How to find name of the TV on your laptop casting window?
It should detect it automatically if they are both on the same network
Thanks but it won’t connect. What should I do?
Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network
@@KnowledgeSharingTech yes they both are connected to the same Wi-Fi. I did what your video suggested but the message on my TV a never came up? Thanks Do I need a HDMI cable?
My Roku TV has problems playing the RUclips TV streaming service, so I had to plug in a Firestick to get that.
Did you try to update your Roku? If auto update will not work, you can do so manually but, you will have to sign back in to everything and reconfigure the TV. Here's how to update it manually: ruclips.net/video/SEGee9IfSnE/видео.html
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Thanks very much!
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Thanks very much!
option doesnt exist on windows 11
I'm using a Windows 11 laptop and when I try to connect to my Roku TV device to my laptop and it doesn't detect it.
Make sure they are both on the same Wi-Fi network.
@@KnowledgeSharingTech It is on the same Wi-Fi network.
I can't understand what your saying on how to disconnect my computer to my tv
Can you tell me to what part of the video are you referring?
Mines won't find my TV:(
WHEN I TRY TO MIRRIO THE PC TO MY ROKU NONE OF THE INTERNET OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE
Make sure both devices are on the same network
When I screen mirror I have no audio
On the bottom right corner of your Windows screen, click the speaker icon and make sure it is set to the TV
@@KnowledgeSharingTech It was for sure lol
@@katy9569 I got this to work with windows 8.1 lappy some years back but forgot how and nothing seems to work. So I said fuck this and bought a 30' HDMI cable which is great. Only thing is sometimes I only get audio from the computer. If I unplug, wait a few seconds and reinsert I will get audio to tv. I wonder if the problem is related and if there is a way to "refresh" with the wireless option that might help?
Please help
What if my laptop can't detect the tv
Make sure they are both on the same network
My Microsoft computer doesn’t even have systems
E no Windows 10 como configura essa merda??

your accent is lebanese! are you ?
🇱🇧
Thanks for the help but wtf Microsoft? This is 2023 and this should be so much simpler. Embarrassing
The TV isn't even detected
Make sure they are on the same Wi-Fi network
Thanks worked perfectly!
You're welcome!
