I bought this machine untested with no warrenty for only 25 euro. So I gonna restore it to full working order! We gonna see if it works (yes it did) then we gonna configure the SCSI Raid on the Compaq Smart Array 2DH. And we Install Windows 2000 Advanced Server.

@@victorbart I used to have a proliant 3000! it is a absolute UNIT of a machine! mine had wheels on it which was awesome. but it looks like yours has a different mobo which is interesting. mine used processor riser cards and took Pentium II's not pentium IIIs and it had 4 slots of RAM on mobo AND it had a riser card that added 8 more RAM slots for a max of a whopping 3 GIGABYTES OF RAM WHOAA haha lol. mine had 256MB of ram in it. but the case was the same. I had the LCD screen same PSUS same everything else..I just had a different motherboard. my Proliant 3000 is unfortunately long gone. I did have the front door for it. I did some Googling and the Proliant 3000R motherboard kinda looks like the one I had..but again, I had your case(with wheels) and PSUs and everything else

Really nice similar idea with the embedded windows and config then sets up Windows Server or ESX/ESXi, or Linux .. etc from within windows embedded with all the utilities to configure all your various crimes. Great fun! :)

Victor, I actually installed these brand new in 1999 they are really nice machines. The 264gb Nick's that are in the system are perfect and they are fully supported. We even had multi-port nics in some of these servers. 4 total of 4 ports in each server or more. We used these for DB, web, file servers. These are great machines.

I'd put an analog/ISDN modem on one of those ISA slots, it's the most server-related thing that you could fit in it. If you have 3 ISA modems you can slot in all of them and pretend that this would be for some sort of remote access service. If you find or have around an old PBX you could even simulate the remote access system, hooking to it the server and some PCs equipped with modems. By configuring the Windows' routing and remote access services you should be able to connect to the server via modem and if you give Internet access to it via LAN you can even use your server as a router, to browse the Internet from the client like you would've done in the 90ies. I did a similar experiment some time ago and it worked :-)
Personally I'm not really fond of sound cards or 3D accelerated cards on servers, because they're more of a consumer/prosumer thing, I see them better being installed into normal PCs.

Basically, since I'm running FreeBSD, I made three Hardware RAID5 arrays across all drives and used ZFS to stripe them all due to a limitation in the RAID controller.
