I must say. Ms Banks you still look good and thank you for keeping the Dramatics on you tube because i cant go without listening to them im 67 yrs old and still love to hear Ron's voice. May God bless and keep you and the family safe.
I thank you, Mrs.Sandy Banks, for sharing this music and the gift of your Beloved husband Ron's vocals. I adore the Dramatics, and they're missed. We still have Squirrel and LJ, but groups like this don't exist. GOD bless you, your family and all the families of these 5 talented men.🙏🏾💜😔☺️
Thank you, Sandra, for maintaining the legacy of excellence always provided by the Dramatics. As program director and Advertising sales manager at the R&B station in Minneapolis-St. Paul, KUXL, was always delightful in the 70s when ABC or MCA promotional men came in with a new Dramatics record. Unlike a lot of other mediocre stuff they brought in to the station we always new the quality would be exceptional with one from the Dramatics and it usually jumped right on our playlist. The Dramatics and the OJ's were the only ones for me, that I could receive a message about them playing somewhere either Chicago, Nashville, etc. and I was on a plane for a weekend junket to see their performance. The Dramatics were simply magnificent and sorely missed, especially given the music of these days. R.I.P. Ron Banks.
My friends and I used to call ourselves Dramatic Addicts. I had the pleasure of meeting and taking pictures with them before most of them passed. Loved these guys
I wish we had groups like the Dramatics today. All we get is rubbish today sadly. Too much emphasis on stage lights loud noise smoke and folks who can’t sing
Not enough can be said about The Fabulous Dramatics! i learned a lot from there words in the album Do Whatcha wanna do. i'd play that album morning noon and night it was so mind blowing to me how much that album helped me grow up. The Dramatics are simply the best at what they do!
Both Ron and LJ , or weenie are dependent on each other’s voices for sound and arrangement. The group is creative with there “ bird calls.” This group is better than the temptations. I love them.
I am one of David Ruffin's biggest fans. Still, I agree with what you are saying about the Dramatics. Groups, IMHO, don't get any better. Incidentally, Ron Banks was fine as exquisite champagne at that time.
Ron Banks was my man when I was a little 13 year old girl. I used to have a big crush on the Ron Banks, my favorite song that he sung was "Ocean of Thoughts", I still love that song today.
The BEST and SEXIEST Singer EVER. These songs brings this lore gal great memories. It’s great knowing I was amongst those who were there when The Dramatics were the best. Miss you Ron Banks, loved and still love your voice. God Bless You and your family.
Dramatics Forever and Ever❤first saw them at the Godfather club on Western ave in Los Angels with William "WeeGee Howard" and Ron the following year at the Roxy club in Hollywood with L.J.Reynolds and Ron both unforgettable performances.
At 10.50 is that Mr Banks family and wife? If so, he has a beautiful family, and what great memories along with great music. I hope we will see a movie about The Dramatics soon.
beanpol bird thanks for your response. Actually that’s his oldest brother Billy wife and our only sons. The boys Ronald Jr has a twin sister they are 22 now and Raymond who will be 20 June 4th. Sandy Banks
There is only one thing that I don't agree with what Ron Banks is saying. The song writer/producer TONY HESTER was what made the difference of the dramatics being a one hit wonder and a super group. Tony Hester could barely read music, taught himself how to play the piano, couldn't sing or dance. But he could write million dollar hits whenever he felt like it. Tony Hester made the difference in the Dramatics and made the Dramatics period. Without Tony, the dramatics would have just been another one hit wonder group. Tony Hester absolutely had a gift from GOD in being able to write songs, put songs together and produce songs. Even though Tony Hester had a Heroin Jones, that makes no difference. A lot of geniuses have to tap into their genius in funny ways. Like the writer Edgar Allen Poe who couldn't put two sentences together while he was sober. But you give him his drug of choice OPIUM and he wrote classics that will long out live him period. Some geniuses are wired differently than the rest of us. And maybe drugs bring out the genius in them. Look at Rick James, who couldn't put together three lines of lyrics sober, but high, it wrote songs that will out live all of us. That was the genius of Tony Hester. Tony made the Dramatics and not the other way around.
+Oran Payne A lot of groups can sing their ass off. But it's the song writer/producer that is responsible to keep the group pushing forward with hit after hit after hit. Like I said Tony Hester could write million dollar songs in his sleep. But nobody hardly knows about Tony Hester and his musical genius. The Dramatics and Tony Hester still hold the record for having 6 out of 8 songs on their VERY FIRST ALBUM be million dollar songs. On that First Album Whatcha See Is Whatcha get 6 out of 8 songs were multi million dollar hits. Like Whatcha see Is Whatcha Get, In the Rain, fall in love lady love, Get up and get down, Fell for you and one more. Then "The Devil is Dope" album fell out with "The Devil is dope, Hey you, get off my mountain, and some other ones. So Tony kept the Dramatics in the studio turning out hit after hit after hit. Tony Hester RIP really made the Dramatics period.
I wholeheartedly without Tony The Dramatics music history might have been totally different and Wee Gees lead on many of their early singles was just need incredible
the bassman I just peeped your profile. You like one of my favorite groups of all time. The fabulous, international INTRUDERS. To this day I have never understood why the intruders weren't on the same level as the Ojays, Harold Melvin Teddy Pendergrass. I mean the intruders could flat out sing. Rehearsals on the hard ass street corners of Philly. That's when you can tell if you can sing or not. The people walking down the streets would be your best friend or harshest critic. If you could survive a street corner Symphony, YOU WERE DOWN. Plus all the wine money.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 I fell in love with the Philly Intruders back in 1968 when I was 14 years old and just getting into my lifelong urge to be with a woman. I really did go from cowboys to girls overnight. I really felt what it was like and how uncomfortable having a hard DICK WAS everyday. Then here comes the WET DREAMS. By the time my mother got around to giving me the birds and the bees talk, I was well on my way to being out of control. As usually I came from a single parent home and my father was in the wind. But playing "hide and seek" to "hide and go get it." Two different games. Plus here comes the slow songs and if a lady liked you, she would GRIND YOUR NUTS INTO DUST OFF OF songs like Spinning around, I'm so proud, you got me going in circles, oh baby baby, in the rain ect right on the dance floor. I used to get so worked up I had to go outside to calm down. It doesn't look good you trying to talk to a lady and your pants are budging out like you had a flag pole in your pants. And the real bad part about it was the girls knew exactly what they were doing. And even thought it was funny. I told this girl that liked me that if I ever get a chance to get you in bed for real, YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL WHAT IT'S LIKE PUTTING ME IN MISERY. I did get a chance to get her in bed and I know I had that girl screaming for her life. I went through 2 1/2 packs of rubbers. I thought I would never stop getting hard. The next day she ran up on me at school and told me how sore she was, how it really hurts now, why didn't I have some control and not do it so much. Then here comes the million dollars questions "WHEN ARE WE GOING TO DO THAT AGAIN."😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I tell you I was laughing so hard the teachers thought I was high on drugs. I mean from then on I bought out the REAL FREAK IN HER. It got to the point there was nothing and I mean NOTHING THAT SHE DIDN'T WANT TO DO. How many girls at 17 and I was 17 are going to tell you "I will do anything you want to do as long as it's not painful or degrading. Oh boy she opened up those doors and for the next year before she had to go away to college, that was probably the only girl/woman 17 that nowhere on her body was she a virgin. NOWHERE. She was the the one who turned ME OUT ON ANAL SEX. and boy was she good. Not only having ANAL but grinding your nuts away and having screaming orgasms. That was 45 years ago and I still remember that freak. I know for sure she was a once in a lifetime SEX machine. I had her for a year that I still haven't forgotten.
Yolanda Burl so you love Tony also. I know I did. I had real fun dancing to IN THE RAIN, HEY YOU GET OFF MY MOUNTAIN. Don't tell me that you were one of those ladies who just loved to torture a man on the dance floor, then start laughing😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Some of you women can be very cruel and frustrating to a young man. But DAM IF IT WASN'T FUN.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😈
