My better half won't sit on the driver's seat once we go offroad. I've offered many times but she don't want to drive offroad. But good for her for supporting me by coming with me 4WD camping. One tip for towing... because you have two safety chains, if you cross them over each other then they form more of a cradle in the event you have a hitch failure (why the chains are there). This helps prevent the nose of the drawbar hanging low and potentially catching on something until you pull up. Good tip that Trackabout Campers gave us 👍

The camper looks awesome and a far cry from the swags and rooftop tent!
My only concern is the rough tracks with the Bub in his capsule. At 3 months old, he won't have the strength to brace himself on the bigger bumps etc. Just something that should be taken into account when off-roading with infants onboard.
Love your videos and wish I could get out there more often myself.
Agree about the Bub. They are not designed to be banged around a capsule.
Before the car we had horses. I imagine that would have been far rougher. Or maybe everyone was tougher back then.

Great video (as usual). I don't want to start a flame fest, but camping in a river bed during a thunderstorm possibly isn't a good decision.

I think she drove perfect, it was inevitable you were going to get bogged in that creek gravel and with high pressures carrying weight.

Stunning camp. I'd forgotten how scenic the mid north coast is. Not a camper trailer fan, but the camper looks impressive.
The best advice I've heard for backing a trailer is to choose to either turn your head and look, or use mirrors. Going back and forth makes it 10x harder. If you use mirrors, place you hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Then when you turn, put your hand to the side you want the trailer to go. So if you want the trailer to go to the passenger side, with your hand on the bottom of the wheel, turn your hand toward the passenger side.

What a lovely trip. I was scared to drive around the block with my daughter in the car when she was that age, let alone do the drive that Demi did! Loving that Patrol more with every video. My Troopy is getting jealous and my Patrol is suggesting it gets some similar mods!

As an OP4 owner, I would suggest getting under the trailer and sealing up any cable penetrations to stop water and dust ingress. Enjoy it mate 🙂

@@4WheelingInNSW 90% of all the camper trailers use the same Chinese chassis, they just bolt the shell to them when they get to Australia. The problem is Aussie workers are doing the final prep including cabling etc. and doing a half ass job. I think all trailer + caravans need better quality control but with the shortage of labour and the high demand for products this isnt going to get better anytime soon.
@@_Bruggs I agree mate ... what we also need though is greedy ‘manufacturers’ sourcing the cheap Chinese stuff to only then put up so much margin that they’re selling them for almost the Aussie made competitors products.
Many don’t even put them together here, they wire in a dual battery and some trailer lights and push ‘Australian manufactured’ - it’s a bullsh*t grey area that the ACCC needs to do something about but they’re too gutless 😡😡
I think Aussies would do far better quality work here though than the bloke getting $7 a month to slap them together overseas 🤷🏻♂️

Good one Tyler, I love the Wilson river. A while ago the csiro said it was the cleanest freshest river in NSW. I have a photo of some huts that used to be located at the bottom of the steep hill, top spot to camp. Thanks for the memories 👍👍

Just noticed your head torch. I bought 5 online. I like the LED strip. Great for area lightup. 1 has broken already, the two wires on the LED strip have pulled off the circuit board under the silicon strap. I think it got folded / creased up a few times. For a lamp designed by US military, the Chinese manufacturing has some opportunity for improvement.

Epic mate, this is how life is loved, dog the camper too, for family everyone ends up with a camper, looks the go too. Fantastic video Tyler really enjoyed watching it. You could not get a better spot to camp we’re you found that spot with fresh water around you. Those camper trailers are pretty good I have seen the 4 w d 24 7 boys have tried them out numerous times and they are up before Graham or Shaun has their swag up . Tyler I bet it was your fault to when Demi got it bogged for the second time camper trailers are great I have owned 3 and 1 off road van b4 but a recent purchase of a brand new hybrid off road van last week in fact I am so excited about it haven't even picked it up doing that on Thursday ☺️ I may even see you on the tracks cheers legends ☺️
