Erm... To all the listeners - I'm that Chris 😂 and yes, I'm perfectly aware that's a mental block. I promise I'll attend Tommy's workshop! Until then, your video allowed me to find the guts to start 😉 very well done as usual!
Very nice, detailed and precise explanation. Faces are undoubtedly the most difficult parts to paint in a mini. Your video does an excellent job explaining it using acrylic colors (whom are the colors I prefer!). Thank you!
I like it knowledge is power,, i was assuming my paint was to thin and was adding more,, now i know, Im loving the cat lol,,,,Thanks for the tips my friend.
Probably one of the best tutorials on this topic I've seen. You explain all the steps very well, and the paint-thinner ratios for each step is very clear, which I think it's essential. Make sure I'll try your tricks!
@@dioramadevil of course you are! Many people do tutorials, and they show amazing skills, but sometimes they take some things for granted, so they forget to explain the basics... That's why I love your tutorials, you never forget the basics!
Hey there. The "bamboo stick" is actualy a toothpick. Pick the round ones. Drill a 0.6 mm hole in the neck (few mm will do the job), then cut of the verry tip of the toothpick in order to meet the hole in the neck (usualy the tip is to small) and them push it in. Only friction. But you have to "nail" the amount of toothpick to cut off exactly. After some practice you will have no problems at all.
Hmmm. Roughly yes. But if you want a good result, you should roughly dubble the ammount of shades and passes... It is bigger so evrything will be visible...
Hello ! First of all i would like to thanks you for all those vidéos ! It us such a source of inspiration tobme and it make me progress a lot ! Thanks ! I have a question : you put 3 base color layer to start...what Time IS necessary to wait between those base layers ?
Hi... First of all thank you, big time. Second, you should wait for the layer to dry. If you are doind 3 or 4 heads at once, the first will be surely dry when you finish the last one. If you are doing just one, take a hair dryer and give it a blow. We are talking minutes anyway. IF you really like my "menthorship" I would invite you to my Patreon page. Ofcourse you can. But.... The better the face is sculpted than easyer is to paint it. And you need good faces if you want to learn, trust me (me too). Go for Dragom, Miniart, modern Tamiya. Usualy those resin heads are so much better and easyer to paint.
@@dioramadevil and one more question, that is not clear form the video - what did you do with this silicone brush? Did you just removed extra paint from the figure's face ? Regards

2 mins into the video and I'm certain this guy really WANTED me to learn from the bottom of his heart.

Hi may i ask what is PDR thinner that in this video you used ? Thank you so much
It is not thinner. It is paint drying rettarder. A kind of gel liquid.
How do you attach the heads to the bamboo stick? Thank you

would these same techniques work with 1/16 scale figures?
