hello, i saw 3 small videos about heli-loop! I wish there was a long one focused solely on it!

Hi Rudy. I'm working on 2 looping videos right now. One video just about heli loops (front- or back-hand loops done towards the end of a long jump when the kite has exceeded the window), and one video just about powered back loops (loops done with the back hand earlier in the jump or when the kite hasn't exceeded the wind, generally known as 'kite loops' or 'mega loops' when done with more height). These videos will look at those key topics in a lot of detail.

@@kitesurfcollege i'm so looking forward for them!!! What I personally search is the rider position behind the kite during the start of the heliloop, the bar position during the landing, around how much it gets pulled and pushed with the front hand and a close visual to the rider as most videos out there need to be zoomed on in order to "grasp" these little details. I've personally got the theory, but in practice i rarely feel my kite has exceeded the window and when it happens i dont expect it so i'm not ready to pull the loop... i wish there was a way to safely learn the heliloop, but to get behind the kite like a pendolum, i think u need to jump at least 10m+ (which i can but idk how much safe is to learn in that conditions).

Great to see more content from you. Do you always recommend starting from your butt? I see riders do this manoeuvre from standing.

Thanks Mike. Sitting is easier to begin, as it keeps your weight back (upwind of the board). For the standing version, you need to be to swing your weight back just before the kite pulls - otherwise it's very similar.

Hi and thank you. I don't really do lesson right now. I don't live in a area that's even vaguely suitable. We generally have a huge shore break and gusty wind here. If I ever move somewhere safe for lessons, I would love to get back to teaching in person. Also, I might arrange some training camps soon. Anything I do I'll announce on my channel.

How should the board be angled to the wind direction? Perpendicular?

Yes the board should be perpendicular to the wind during take off

Can you do this is a side shore wind or does it have to always be off shore?

Hello Russell. Yes, you can do this with a side shore wind, since you don't fly directly downwind, you move towards the kite. In side shore you're much more likely to land on the beach if you get it wrong of course.
