- These are some of the most insane drag racing crashes that I have personally filmed, starting with KC Maxx flying through the air at "Dig or Die" 2023!
All drivers were ok thanks to their safety equipment and the track staff.

As someone that owns a white foxbody I think I know why the prices for Foxbody Mustangs are high and getting harder to find.
Tell me about it. I am 5 minutes in and went to the comments to see if anyone else noticed. I also double checked the title as i thought it was a compilation of this car.
Explain them why the desire for what I assume is supposed a desirable chassis that over and over in this video, seems to have a problem with holding it together down track?
Personally I don't think it's a problem with what I call the older 5.0, I think it's a wheel base issue, the 64-67 Novas also seem to have the same issues.
I'm assuming the stock chassis makes it desirable or is it a matter of the fox body mustang 5.0 class has a unique or distinct better payout because of popularity?
I used to drive one on the street, 302 5 speed, a little massaged over, solid driver all the way around....I was shocked to hear they weighed 3500lbs....not sure if I believe that to this day.
Obviously I'm talking out of my ass without knowing or should knowing about this particular 5.0 outlaw class etc..
I myself had a 66 mustang with a 12 pt chromoly Alston chassis, 540 big block, narrowed 9", STRANGE 34 spline axels if I recall, reverse valve body turbo 400, trans brake, 5500 stall, 9's at Sea level, probably could have squeezed high 8s with some chassis/4 link adjustments and really going through the entirety of the drive/suspension coefficients....eliminate as much friction points as possible....2300lbs so I doubt I could reduce the weight much from there without removing and replacing the only thing really that was stock and that was the doors and rear quarter panels and the front windshield....kind of a thing of mine I prefer.
Wheel base of course was almost a foot longer than stock, so of course the entire front clip was modified fiberglass.... My point is it ran straight.
One night in El Paso what I suspect maybe in a few cases of this video is the same reason why I backed out in the quarterfinals because dust sand or what I call a high silicate percentage started blowing randomly on the track around the last 200 ft where at least every other race especially with a short wheelbase car one I think was a gremlin and the other was a Vega are getting squirrely at about 120 mph and even though they would go and clean the track off down there what's my guarantee that in the next minute it's not going to reoccur and that's bad I could have won that no box class based on what I saw of the remaining cars where as long as I didn't red light and and shallow stage, if they beat me on the line they're not going to beat me at the finish.

They act as if they pay my entry and my fuel and my time and my gas to get over there, All the hard work because drag racing is hard work.
Sucks to experience a catastrophic event I only watched half of this video I'm not going to watch the rest.
There's a reason I had to buy an sn95.... Fox body cars are outrageous $2300 for a shell (a rotten one at that) without a title

It’s irritating while they”re filming and you know the driver (if not hurt, knocked out or worse )has to listen to some moron constantly laughing about something not showing any respect for the owner/driver of the car, or what just happened.
So key point here is to not build a fox body

It seemed like half of the wrecks were Fox bodies. Might be some sort of correlation here.
Fox body cars and turbos... the rear suspension geometry just isn't designed to put the tires to the ground for when the turbo starts making real boost. it's fine for the couple of hundred HP they came with. Use a car built that can do what you ask of it.

WTF are you talking about? “The geometry is wrong “ Um, last I checked most race setups are fully adjustable to any set up you need, irregardless if it’s a Fox body. If you’re car can’t hook and go straight then the person who set it up better keep trying. I love the “It’s the car’s fault” excuse for people who lack ability.
My husband used to drag race bikes. Ran the supercomp class. His bars broke on the launch. That bike threw him straight up in the air. He got hurt worse then when he went down through the traps at top speed. Crazy
Wow...need to re-title this video "Wrecking Mustangs". I never seen so many older Mustangs crashed and trashed. The death of the green Chevelle was the saddest of all though. Unbelievable carnage. Thanks for the reminder that just going straight doesn't mean bad things won't happen.

Man that was some crazy stuff, I love how there were after shots of the carnage, but a bit sad to see the amount of work that needs to be done to fix these cars if possible

Neither have I. Anything can go wrong in a race but deliberately racing no prep after spending so much time and money is just dumb imo.

Every body here in these videos has triple the money, time and respect not only for the machines but the other people involved as well than any takeover event filled with leased cars crashing out.

They arent as bad as you think. Most heavy duty stuff is still drum rear, they have way more stopping power. They just heat up.
one of the reason I watch these vids is to deter me from ever taking my 73 Cuda, former nitrous drag car, racing again. blown tire, or oil leak etc and poof, there goes 40 grand!

Thanks for an honest title. Brutal for all the owners and drivers of the cars but so much better to have actual crashes than a video with HUGE CRASHES WOW INCREDIBLE in the title and then nothing but near misses and people getting a little loose.
At 5:39. Thats what happens when you use C clip rear axles.
Has anybody ever thought of making a drag strip that doesn't have concrete barriers on the sides? Would save a lot of bad accidents if they could coast to a stop in a field instead of hitting a wall.

The fact that the drivers could walk away from these wrecks is a testament to the safety equipment required in modern race cars. Sadly, many drivers had to not walk away as they made advancements in the technology.

and the first clip is why i love firebirds, you can damn near fold them in half (and i almost did when crashing 60+mph into a drainage ditch that was 10ft wide and like 6 ft deep) and still drivable and will keep you safe, yes i know there is a cage and other stiffening components but the ole birds are hard to put down, on accident at least

It's always hard to see how close cars actually are when filming from the starting line and you start zooming in. Looks like there were some pretty close calls with the other running cars, it can all go wrong so quickly. Scary stuff

The first one the wreck was caused by the owner of the car being stupid and not knowing anything about drag racing aerodynamics or drag if he knew anything he would have known that spoiler was way too high. Honestly the officials are to be at blame too for not catching it and allowing him to race

As a person who goes to watch drag races I know the danger that these drivers are in every time they race. They risk their lives so do something fun that people like to watch.

1:00 Looks like the right side wheelie bar wheel was really digging in causing the right side tire to lose traction making the car go right. You can see the mark it left behind. Man, that's a hard lick.
