    Just a tip for anybody who is getting a KITTEN, you can go to the vet for a wellness check-up after receiving the kitten and they will provide you with complimentary insurance plan after assessing that your kitten is healthy. This means that there is no waiting period for accidents and illnesses - your cat is covered immediately! Breeders also have an option to give you free trials as well but consider adopting first :)

    LMAO!! That part at 2:25 you can see Teemo (I think its Teemo,) looking at you petting Arya and the gears are just a turning in his head and then BOOM, he pounces on her in the cutest way.. Even looks like it startles you for a half second lol.. So friggin hilarious and adorable!

      @@TheCatButler OMG is that a ragdoll trait? Because if Skarlytt sees ANYONE in the house giving love to another cat she runs over and tries to insert herself into the mix. She gets SO jealous sometimes and it baffles me that she will even try to do this when one of the big cats are getting snuggled and they outweigh her by 10 to 15 pounds lol... Like my moms 23 pound siamese who feels like a small dog when you carry him around, she will jump right on him and scared the hiss out of him to the point we were worried he will smack her but nope. Could it be that Skarlytt knows how big she is going to get and subconsciously knows she will be able to run the show? She already sorta rules the roost around here. She steals the big cats snacks or will nudge into their food bowls even though she’s not supposed to be eating grown cat food. She has this “monkey see monkey do” trait right now where she copies everything the big cats do. Jemma, my moms black shorthair, came over one time and was a little perturbed that her old cat box had been replaced with a Liter Robot and she pooped in the corner next to it. So what does Skarlytt do right in from of us? Poops in the corner right when Jemma was done, copying her lol.. I jumped on that REAL quick and she has never done that again lol.. But its hilarious to watch her work things out and learn new stuff even if they are bad traits lol..
      So I was wondering if you could help me.. Maybe point me in the right direction. So I’m having a little trouble coming up with a name for my new male blue bi color kitten coming in a month. His placeholder name is Dale but that doesnt’ sound cute or cool at all for a kitty lol.. I tried to get my friends and family to help but when they came up with names, and you’ll think this is funny, the only names they came up with were Bryce, which is my moms Siamese cats name, the big fat one lol and they came up with Thymo (pronounced Teemo) and I was like “Welp, we can’t use that one.” LoL. Because not only is that your cats name but its also another famous ragdoll youtube cats name, although he has passed away already. I just feel Teemo in any form has been taken already. What makes this even more frustrating is that I am am aspiring writer, I have dozens of baby books I use to name characters in my novels but they don’t seem to help for a cute kitty name. So how did you name Teemo? Is Arya named after Arya Stark in Game of Thrones? LoL. Cause that is awesome if she was. I thought of using a GOT name for my cat. I was going to name Skarlytt, Nymeria after Arya’s Direworlf but my family thought it was too many syllables LOL.. But i like Skarlytt, if you look at her she even looks like a Skarlytt with her Lynx print face lol.. So if you have any suggestions please let me know :).. Thanks!

    • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  Год назад

      Haha it maybe a Skarlytt thing the things you mentioned lols. Yeah names are hard. Arya is from game of thrones and Teemo is from league of legends haha. Thought the names were fitting for their personality! Definitely take your time to come up with a name :)

    Thank you for the info! I don't have insurance for my cat and he's older now but he's very healthy. About 5 years ago I thought I was going to have to have him put down due to a severe medical problem. I couldn't afford the scan the vet wanted to do and wouldn't have been able to afford most treatment options. The vet went with the cheapest scan and treatment option available in hopes that it would cure him and thankfully it did. If I had insurance for him I'm sure it would have been much less stressful.

      Update: After more reviews have come out Lemonade does honor legitimate claims. Its for people that are looking for a more affordable option and are okay with not having to call customer support, you can still email them.
      good question! When I was researching lemonade I think the one thing I didn't like was the lack of interacting with a human for your claims. The pet insurance is also relatively new without a proven track record.
      Sadly the thing with pet insurance is once you pick one you would have to stick with them for the rest of your pet's life, so you have to choose wisely. I hope that helps! Do what works for you.

    • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  Год назад

      @Jessence Q Hey so when I wrote this comment the product was still relatively new and more reviews have come out since then.
      Lemonade Pet Insurance seems to be on the more affordable side compared to competitors (Mine is almost double), but to give you that low rate they don't have like someone you can call on the phone etc. They do honor legitimate claims.
      You do have to read the rules carefully, like having the proper documents when submitting your claim etc. Some of the denied claims were pre existing which every insurance company denies and not having all the documentation. Its harder when you can't just call customer service easily to understand or resolve your issue and have to go through email. But if you understand the rules I have seen reviews that lemonade does honor the claims.
      In short Lemonade pet insurance caters to people that are okay not having on demand customer support via the phone, but are okay with the affordable rates. Do read everything carefully and do the necessary research.
      Hope that helps!

      @@TheCatButler I have Embrace and pay $35.72 month with $1000 deductible, 90%coverage, $15,000 maximum. He just turned 11 and is due renewal soon. I'm on a fixed income and am afraid of that I've heard people have to drop coverage because the rates go too high when the pet is old. The most important thing to me is to know he will have insurance as he becomes old. With past cats I used my savings to help them in old age. Not knowing which company will be affordable in old age is causing me a lot of stress. I saw the rate go up 26% with the first renewal which shocked me. I was told to expect it to go up 25-35% each year, but on the third year it lowered to about the price of his first year $35.72. The companies will not give me an idea of what it could cost and I asked for a quesstimate. I asked a supervisor at Embrace if she has seen under $100 and under $150 and she said yes to both. Two other companies think under$100, but they are trying to sell to me. Pets Best does have the old age on line illness and accident coverage quotes which for me was $45.90 for age 14 through 20+. I wonder if they would increase the rates anyway. - Reviews say they stall on payments, one person said most claims were paid but she had to deal with the stall tactics. I read a review saying a company doubled rates, one person said in a short time frame it was 4 times higher. I like Embrace but I might have a better chance at affordable life long coverage with Pets Best. However, they both are offering about the same rate for his current age. You said senior cats rates are about $100- is that for any age up to 20 years old? How did you find it is about $100? Thank you.

    • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  Год назад +1

      Hi Lisa all very good questions! Embrace Pet Insurance is very good pet insurance. Since you have so much history with them I recommend you stay with them. A lot of coverage will be grandfathered in. Unfortunately with pet insurance its hard to switch midway. For example I just tried to get a quote from Embrace Pet Insurance with a pretend 20 year old cat and they offered me a bare bones plan and said I was not eligible for a lot of benefits. It was an accidental plan with a cap pay out at $5,000. The price was $10 per month and max $65 with a wellness add on. I used the bay area as reference as the rates here are super high. For example I have the premium nationwide plan and the customer rep said the max they saw for the bay at the time was $200 per month for a very old cat. This was 2 years ago. I think maybe use $200 as a worse case scenario, luckily we have cats and they are not as expensive as dogs.
      Yeah the representative you spoke to may not know too much since she isn't the one figuring out how much to raise. But the two reasons why they raise rates is cost of living in your area + age. I use to work in insurance and its hard for a company to make money when they charge low premiums. What usually happens is the company finds out they undercharged and either raises rates by a lot or makes it difficult to get you to redeem your benefits. I say definitely stay away from insurance that is too cheap. I have a friend whose mom has embrace pet insurance in Hawaii and I believe her cats are at least 15 and Embrace has been good to her. I can ask them how much they are paying.

    • @Lisa-cn2uu
      @Lisa-cn2uu Год назад +1

      @@TheCatButler Thanks! I was hoping to find another person who had a senior pet with Embrace to see their rate. If she has time, could you ask her to type in a male cat 11 years old history paw cyst, so I can see the rate she gets compared to my area rate. When you asked the max were you talking to the claims department or supervisor, the regular customer service may be less likely to know. Maybe asking the max was a better approach, I would be told by every company there were to many factors that could effect rate so they were very reluctant to give a guesstimate. I can not afford $200. I need it to be $100 or less. I ran some Bay Area zip codes for my 11 year old cat and the rates were close to my rate.

I need to know the COST per month and waht is covered and whether it is cancelable ANYTIME. also there should be emphasis on joining pet insurance if you have a pet. I HAVE SPENT OVER 2K ON MY 2 KITTENS DUE TO IGNORANCE OF THIS IMPORTANT SERVICE BUT NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THIS.

      That’s why I made the video. Wish people would look more into this. Most people don’t get pet insurance and then it’s too late :( when their pet has a costly procedure. I had recent subscriber have to spend 5 k on their kitten due to a rare disease. Luckily they had pet insurance and paid not as much. Help spread the word! Pet insurance is an investments. Lastly pet insurance is cancelable anytime. Cost per month is all over the place as detailed in the video on all the factors

    My pet insurance on my last dog was GREAT from the beginning! A few years later.. they changed underwriters.. it was $250 deductible PER INCIDENT and next to NOTHING was ever covered again! Pets Best or something. Now I Have MetLife. Best rate! $350, 90%, $10,000. About $43/months for my now three year old tan mix breed!
