So I tried bathing my cat with warm water (not too warm but not exactly lukewarm either) and lo and behold! He stopped struggling and actually let me give him a proper bath. The next time you bathe your kitties, try using warm water.
I think the reason why the cat paw is injure because that is not the way to wash the cat. You need to be gentle with it. Seeing him scrubbing the cat paws make me think that must be the reason why the cat paw is red. You use your hand to wash the cat no need a brush because it more gentle than a brush.

Once she's calm I start putting shampoo with my hands, not a brush or towel, and when it's time to rinse I do it with a cup and slowly pouring the water over her so she doesn't get startled, I take my time bathing her, it takes me around 30 minutes, 30 minutes drying her fur and other 20 minutes combing/brushing fur since she's an Angora cat, she's never scratched me or bite me while bathing her, she was born at my home and is really comfortable around me and maybe that helps her not to get scared while I bathe her. But yeah, you shouldn't stress your cat like that, they'll hate taking baths all their life ...
chels yo My cat stays at home, but I still give her baths every 4 to 6 months since she likes playing with our two dogs who play outside most of the time. Is not bad giving them baths once in a while.

It hurts me to watch this all the way through like....fill up a pail with warm water and make sure that they're not stressed out or anything (put them on the toilet seat) and just pour some water on them slowly

Cats clean themselves ur not supposed to shower them if anything only thier paws are places u might need to wash, not have to..might (depending on how dirty they are) even the vets tell u not to ☺ ask them
