Singing to the tracks I played for Black Sabbath’s song “The Shining”

  • The way I always find peace is in music. I was thinking about all of the singers I’ve worked with that have passed. It’s crazy there have actually been 11 lead vocalists I worked with who have passed away. Allan Fryar from Heaven. Henrik from Dirty Looks. My very first band called Anti had a singer named Johnny Lee who died from Cancer. You may not know I worked with Dean Fasano from the band Prophet. He passed away. Daryl Pediford and James Lewis with TSO. Jay Starr a New York City night life icon who had a clothes store and a band called CC Starr. I worked with Rhett Forrester from Riot in his solo band. Jane Train who passed in the accident with a David Z I worked with many times. Mike Howe and many may not know I was the last person to be writing music and working with Ray Gillen when he passed away.
Tonite after all of my work I still had my studio on. I was doing some radio promos for a tour that’s coming up this year and I was fumbling through files I needed to send to Jon Oliva when I decided to sing.
I had started putting a track down for fun on this song when I did the guitar tracks last year. As you may know I played guitar on a really awesome cover of Black Sabbath’s The Shining sung by the amazing Ronnie Romero. I was blessed to have the opportunity to do that track and didn’t want to play any versions of me singing when the song was being released. But this song is kinda special to me. Ray gave me an original demo of him singing this with Sabbath when the song was first recorded. It meant a lot to me to be able to play on this cover with Ronnie.
Amidst the loss of another brother and friend who sang I decided to finish my track and you are just hearing it from a cell phone mic…but here’s me singing this song.
It made me smile tonite to connect with this song and the ghosts of all the amazing singers and I’ve worked with.
Cherish life my friends! It goes by so fast and can always change with the blink of an eye!
    🙏🎤😇🤘🏼🌹😈🖤🎸

And we love you singing that song. You have trained your voice very well. I tried writing a song, but it’s hard to come up with lyrics about a high chair. Go figure. Thank you for sharing your talents and thoughts. P.S. Diet Coke is better just saying. 😊😊😊😊#hardhits #kiddos #ouch

I love Ray Gillen, but Tony Martin gets credit for the album song I believe. Ray did demos only I think
