Does anyone else feel like this music video a kind of sequel to the Fireflies video? In Fireflies, it was the toys in Adam's room that came to life, but now that he's grown up he's passing on that same magic to the boy instead.
Callum McPherson Yeah right. That's what I've noticed the first time I saw this music video.
Callum McPherson i thought the kid was meant to be him as a kid- seeing himself writing amazing songs. my mum saw a resemblance between them in this and "to the sky".
I think this kid could represent young Adam, going through some tough times in his life. Adam, knowing how bad it was and how great he's feeling now, wanted to tell him that it's going to get better, so he invented a way for him to travel back in time to tell younger Adam what he wanted to say (hey, that kind of reminds me of what MercyMe was talking about in their song, "Dear Younger Me"). Younger Adam got so inspired by all the magic in the room, he discovered a way for him to do the same. He started creating his own magic (music)! That, I am so thankful for. Fireflies and Beautiful Times both have insanely beautiful videos with similar visuals.
That's an interesting way to think about it.
Or this is a prequel and Fireflies is a sequel when he's all grown up.

Honestly this song (and really Adam Young's music in general) helped save me in the most terrifying time of my life. For at least one scared, hurt, lonely kid his music was just about all that held the world together.

There are very FEW videos that Adam allows people to comment on his videos, so its heart warming to see so many people who are just as big of fans and in love with his music. Wish he'd allow more videos to receive the love they deserve. Adam Young is a rare gem of humanity and especially in the music business. He's got a unique gift of taking sadness/pain and raising it up to where you feel like you can shine like a golden star. His calming relaxing vocals, sweet harmony and well thought out lyrics bring you to tears but also makes you smile and makes you want to be a better person. The only main flaw is when they zoom in on him playing the keyboard, not showing the other blocks, it looks too much like on a stage and not in a doll house. Like the random spotlights on the keyboard, or the unusual darkness, when the light from outside his block should be shinning at him.

Holy shit. Owl City is back...like...actually back. I liked the last album decently enough, but it was lacking that special something that makes Adam special imo. This recaptures that feeling, while still feeling new.

The Golden Crafter Owl City is the project name; not the band name. But it's what the artist calls it, so that's what people use.
Owl City's style of music is so unique. His songs are artistically lyrical and have a beautiful blend of synthesizers that create a serene magical ambience. He's a breath of fresh air in today's music industry.
This is my favourite song from Owl City this song always makes me feel better when life gets ruf. This song lets me know eventhough life can be ruf or scary sometimes this song lets me know that life is beautiful and to never give up and keep moving forward. Thank you Owl City.

I feel sad because Adam's songs are underrated and I do feel like his songs are so natural and true to life and motivates and what a song should be but people nowadays love songs that have lewd meanings and most are introducing sex to it. Depression runs in my family and disorders are also very common throughout my family tree(which is a very dangerous mix). I have ODD, OCD, ADD, ADHD and depression. My mother was and still is suicidal. She also has
depression, OCD, and ADD. My father has anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar. He had ODD, but doesn't anymore.
