Another tip for necessary liquid bottles is to hold upright, and squeeze them in a little to remove some of the air inside. While still squeezing, reseal the lid. - Most liquid leaks occur due to reduced cabin pressure at altitude. The air inside the plastic bottle or tube expands, the lid pops open, and the liquid leaks out. - If some of the air is removed pre-flight, the container will simply expand to it's normal size. - If in doubt, use a little cellotape as an extra precaution.
I learned from this video.I fly ungodly amount for work. Probably hit 2 million miles on one airline alone. Those refill bags alone will change my life.
for that toiletry bag, is it fine to use on carry on? I've always traveled with my liquids in a clear ziploc but I noticed they are never too strict with that so would this bag work well in a carry on?
@@sincerelyangola You still need to keep your liquids in a clear quart-size bag. Some airports are more strict than others, and even the same airport will change its vigilance depending on the time of day. You can transfer your liquids to the toiletry bag once you get to the hotel.
Great tips! Love those pouches and the skins. I also use saran wrap in between the cap and tube/bottle to reduce leaks and use contact cases if you only need a little bit of an item.
I watch lots of packing and travel hack videos. You have the best tips and suggestions! I can’t wait to try the water activated facial wipes, travel pillow with clothes in it, and squeeze bottles for liquids. And the stash scrunchies!Leaving for France in 4 weeks.
Thanks for the video. I will have to try the pouches. I used the lipgloss tubes for some liquids (moisturizer, etc) and they worked great. I also use soap/shampoo bars and cut into smaller pieces for the trip. Love the idea of a stick lotion, but dont want that large size of a container. I also use pill pouches for pills/vitamins, etc. I am going to try balloons over containers I worry about leaking.
Tip for makeup remover: use a ziplock with cotton rounds, soak w/remover. Doesn't count as liquid. (Just don't use to much). I also freeze a water bottle (half full). It will pass through TSA if it's solid. Then top off afterwards. Cold water !
Here in Canada, frozen items that are normally liquid at room temperature are subject to liquid restrictions unless required to treat an injury or to refrigerate breast milk, baby formula, juice or water carried for children, or essential medications like insulin, so please check the regulations and exemptions at your destination.
Thanks for this video-the liquid limit has always been my bugaboo for carryon traveling for more than a day or two. May have to try the shampoo and conditioner bars as well. ❤
Do you find that you can keep under the weight limit for carry on travelling with all those things plus clothes? In Australia they are super strict with carry on and often weigh it at check in. We are only allowed 7kg so it always amazes me that people can travel that lightly?
Me too because in another comment she said she takes it out the ziplock and when she gets to the hotel she puts it in the toiletry bag. In the video she shows how she packs the toiletry bag FLAT in her carry on. Maybe she was showing that part for people who check their bags idk 🤷🏽♀️
I just use a ziploc bag to transport it. On one trip I also cut it into smaller single use pieces so that I only used a small portion at a time so I never had to pack the whole thing being wet
Not a shampoo bar, but I sometimes bring a facial soap bar cleanser. If it's still a bit wet, I'll blot it with a tissue and ensure the case or bag is dry before transporting it. I should think of cutting it into smaller pieces as a hack for future trips.
Would it make sense to pack our bar/hard toiletries (powders, eyeshadow, shampoo bar) into our carry-on suitcases, and place the liquid toiletries in the transparent bag in our personal item/bag for easier presentation? Do we have to present out hard toiletries in the quart bag too?
Yes, that's what I do. All liquids in the clear quart bag, any non-liquid toiletries can stay packed. I just published a new video which explains the process of packing my toiletries a little more clearly: ruclips.net/video/9tyoMHwUPyk/видео.htmlsi=rWeSGuHVSSeDis4S
The advantage of being a male with a buzz cut is that a good all in one bar of soap can be used for body/face and hair, so thats one bottle of liquid less. The only liquids I carry are a small tube of toothpaste, shaving cream, cologne and face moisturizer. Keep the baggie in the front pocket of my carry-on and it's in the bin faster than you can say "boarding pass please". For cologne, I stock up of those free samples from drug stores. Tiny and free and you can mix and match, can't beat that.
In Europe, zipper toiletries bags are not allowed only ziplock. Going through Heathrow, they sometimes give you the bag to use, so you may have to swap as not same as supermarket quart size
Hi what size toilet bag large or medium I’m going away for 4 weeks and only carry on so looking for all the weight saving I can get Thanks for your videos
Does anyone have a tip for contact solution? I have to use a very specialized solution that no longer comes in a travel size. The normal size is 3.5oz. :( I'm wondering if I can put contact solution in a travel size pouch??? Has anyone done that? My obvious concern is contamination. Thanks for any ideas!! Oh, and my vision is really bad, so glasses aren't an option for me. Thanks!
My contact solution also is 3.5oz (105ml) and can’t find it in travel size anymore. But my eye doctor does have trial size bottles, so I just go in and ask if I can please have one for my upcoming trip. The bottle is much smaller (30ml) but it lasts at least two weeks. So maybe your eye doctor might have a trial size of your contact solution.
Update to my previous reply: another RUclips channel had a video about medical items. Contact lens solution is considered medically necessary, so if your bottle is larger than 3.5oz, you can put it in a separate bag from your quart size liquids bag and declare it whenever you go through security.
I don’t understand how u pack that hanging bathroom pack in your carry on when there were so many liquids in it. Did you keep the liquids outside in your ziplock bag before? And what about sun screen lotion? And let’s not forget - mens razor blades. How u packing them?
OK guys I have a question. So I have the same travel bag that this young lady has in her video in one portion I have like my skin care, mouthwash, and toothbrush, the second compartment I have body care stuff. Total I would have nine bottles and TSA stopped me this morning. Remind you all of this was in my carry-on bag, so I wasn’t sure why they even stopped me. Now I will say this I did not have my liquids in a quart size bag. They went ahead and let me go through. But I just didn’t understand, so should I have all of the liquids together in the quart size bag and then put it inside the travel toiletry bag?
It really depends on the airport now. Technically, you're allowed as many liquids containers (up to 100ml/3.4oz) that would fit in a quart-sized bag. Some airports require you to place them in this bag separate from your main toiletry bag as you go through security. Lately, it seems this isn't the case in many airports, or it depends on the airport/TSA agent
It’s all so confusing because we hear/see that we should still pull out a liquids bag but when I just travelled neither airport required it. I wish they would just let us use a toiletry bag and keep it in our carry on suitcase.
@@shana4604 Me too. USA to MX and back (Dec 2024). I have the clear TSA zip bags (3) and everything went through no problem in my carry-on. If your makeup wipes dry out, all you have to do is wet them and they'll work fine. The same as the ones that start out dry.
